Mission: The mission of samford university is to nurture persons in their development of intellect, creativity, faith, and personhood. As a christian university, the community fosters academic, career, and ethical compentency while encouraging social and civic responsibility, and service to others.
Programs: Samford university, with its 12:1 student to faculty ratio in the 2016-2017 academic year, offered 30 degree programs in nearly 150 majors to students in ten academic schools. Students were enrolled from more than 47 states and 29 foreign countries. The tuition and fees derived from these students paid the salaries, wages and benefits of the university's faculty and staff.
samford university awarded over $48 million in aid to nearly 5,200 students during the 2016-2017 aid year.
additional program services include food services and vending, bookstore sales, educational workshops/programs and other types of program services.
samford university maintains a beautiful campus of academic and administrative buildings and student housing.
