Mission: Mission: Rosie?s Broadway Kids is an arts education organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts. Using professional teaching artists, Rosie?s Broadway Kids offers classes in dance and music and a professional theater experience for children who might otherwise not have the opportunity. Its goal is to inspire excellence, motivate learning, uplift the human spirit, and to instill a lifelong appreciation for the arts.Rosie O'Donnell, Board President, founded Rosie's Broadway Kids in 2003 to give New York City public-school students exposure to the richness of the Broadway Theater. Because New York City public schools rely largely on private funding for arts education, they continue to struggle due to a constant shortage of public funding and are in need of quality, affordable arts education providers. Rosie's Broadway Kids serves the schools with the highest need: eighty-five percent of students who participate in Rosie's Broadway Kids are from low-income families. It is the only organization in New York City dedicated to offering intensive study of musical theater at no cost, enabling schools with budget constraints and students from low income families to receive high quality arts education.
