Causes: Philanthropy, Private Independent Foundations
Programs: For 2016, most common forms of dca included: implementing the leading edge fund, leveraging funds from california-based and national foundations for our grantees' work; organizing convenings, conferences and briefings, and; providing technical assistance, program planning, and strategic communications support for individual grantees and grantee collaboratives. Staff and consultants provided more than 3,000 hours of dca. Major areas of dca included: fundraising, communications, organizational development, policy development, program development and coalition building. In 2016, the foundation organized, hosted, and/or sponsored more than 30 convenings and events engaging advocates, policymakers and philanthropic organizations to advance work within our priority areas and assist grantees to leverage our grants. Some highlighted events include criminal justice summit and coordinated convenings of the executive alliance for boys and men of color.
