Programs: Trash/recyclinginstalled trash bins at cardiff state beach to replace old ineffective, rusted out, lidless aluminum cans. New bins are covered to prevent seagulls or wind from dispersing trash across the beach and into the water and have had significant impact on lowering trash on beach and in the water. Continued to provide recycling and trash bins on school athletic fields. Impact estimated at over 20 tons less trash per year sent to landfills. Rmf sponsored green team led the waste diversion efforts at the 2014 switchfoot bro am, an annual charity surf contest and concert fundraiser held at moonlight beach in encinitas, with approximately 10,000 attendees. For the first time in switchfoot bro am history, more waste was recycled than thrown away at the 2014 event. Over 1,500 pounds of waste was processed, two thirds of which was recyclable.
