Mission: Promote understanding of the aging process, and identification, solution or alleviation of problems/needs confronting the aging population.
Programs: Clinical research - scientific studies are used to determine new medicines, treatments or devices concentrating on studies for seniors especially dementia, arthritis and chronic diseases. These studies target the medically underserved populations in the community. The center is staffed by a professional, trained and licensed clinical team
driving evaluation to assess driving skills/performance needed for safe vehicle operation. Collaborative effort in research/assessment of cognitive functioning in older adults. Driving evaluation program is staffed by a clinical psychologist and a driving evaluator. A state-of-the-art driving simulator is used. New driving routines were developed to enhance the effectiveness of the evaluation.
