Mission: The Mission of Richmond CASA is to advocate for safe and permanent homes for abused and neglected children who come before the Richmond Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Programs: Richmond CASA recruits, trains and supervises volunteer advocates to provide this individualized attention. Upon completion of 35 hours of initial training, CASA's are appointed by the judges of the Richmond J & DR Court as Officers of the Court. As Officers of the Court, they perform detailed research on each child?s situation and are then able to determine the needs of the child. CASA's then submit reports to the court, providing valuable insights into the child?s life and assisting the court in making informed decisions regarding the child?s future.
