The advocacy training was life changing. I really needed to learn from someone who understood what I went through and could teach me how to best share my story and fight for change.
I can’t say enough good thing’s about the love and support I received from Tamara. She really helped me when I needed it.
I now have served as a volunteer and on the advisory board for about a year and I thoroughly enjoy how I can meet people and learn about the things individuals experience as a result of mass incarceration. We help with scholarships for young people whose parents have experienced incarceration and that's the most rewarding experience I've had with this organization. I appreciate how they lead with kindness and grace and how they think about the entire family, not just the people leaving incarceration. It's a tough job and I love what I can do to help out.

Tamara is the best. She really helped me through a rough time. I found a job and pray I can get on track. She was there every step of the way and I'm happy that they follow me through my journey. They've given me the resources I need to make things happen for my girls and myself.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve!
i've been working with Nolef Turns for about 10 months after my release from prison. I was able to get support with finding a better job and help with getting my kids what they needed for the holidays. I really appreciate the kindness and support that they have given over the past year.
I have been working with them for over a year and they have helped me with obtaining my CDL and now I'm about to purchase my first home. I never in a million years thought I would be able to. I stayed on course and they guided me through.

I’m glad we could help
I was treated like a human being and that means the world. Star helped me get signed to some benefits I needed. I recommend this agency to anyone navigating life after prison.

Tamara was the person who helped me with signing up for services and made sure I had work clothes for my new job. She gave me a welcome home kit and pointed me in the right direction when I was released from prison. That\u2019s means the world to me.

Great organization and very caring staff. They helped me through a hard time and I appreciate it so much.
Love this group. I feel welcomed and get help with so many things, sometimes just to have a listening ear.

I like this organization because they are brutally honest with me about what I gotta do to stay out of prison. It was hard to hear but I can overstand the ideology of the assessments that have been made. Support this company, they support others in dire circumstances and bestow blessings amongst the brothers and sisters coming out of the belly of the beast.
Needed help with getting some recovery services. They pointed me to the right places.

I\u2019ve volunteered with plenty of organizations but grassroots efforts are dear to me. At NLT, I was amazed at the passion all of the volunteers had. We were treated respectfully and I definitely will be going back for mentoring.

Thank you for helping out! YOU are greatly appreciated and necessary to keep us going.
This organization fights the good fight for people who've been incarcerated. They work diligently and don't look for a lot of recognition. I love that about them. They really helped me with my expungement questions and fought to get that bill passed last year. Man, I'm so happy I found them and can't wait to see what they do in the future.

It took a little while to get siutated but I couldn't have done it without this group helping. I was in a bad spot and really just needed a little help. They were compassionate and honest with me and didn't overpromise what they could do. I really love how they check in on me and don't put a lot of pressure on me.

I love working with Nolef Turns. They have helped feed houseless individuals in the community for the past few years. Through the pandemic, they have been consistent and have shown up to help us as much as they could. I am happy to see all of the progress the organization has made over the past few years. This is what our community needs.

I've been working with this organization for a few years. I finally was able to get my voting rights back even though I'm on probation. I know that Noleftturns has been directly involved with this work for years. They've had such an impact on me getting things on track in my life. Happy to support their work any way I can.

My brother was incarcerated and I didn't know how to navigate his home plan. Ms. Harris helped write a character letter for the parole board and after 27 years and 7 months, he was released. I love this group. They work hard and don't want recognition but they deserve it all.

I was referred to this org from a freind who was lcoked up with me. I needed all kinds of help and they worked wih me to find a job and got my voting rights back. I'm working on finding a permanent place to live now but I'm forever grateful for Noleft turns and the people who help out.

I love ghe work they do in Richmond. There aren't too many places that help individuals with barriers to employment and especially housing. I know it's difficult being a grassroots organization but they make the impossible possible with little resources and help. Hats off to Noleft Turns. We need more people like this.

Thank you for your kind words!
I love this organization. They were willing to help me out when a lot of places shut doors on me. Grateful

This non profit is amazing! Ms. Williams has been through just about everything I've went through and she's helped me out so much! I recommend that if you have a background come here cause they will help you!

I'd recommend this organization to anyone looking to find resources who have a felony conviction. They helped me out a lot.

Glad to have helped!
I was more than excited to get my civil rights restored but nothing compared to being able to vote for the first time in over 38 years. I had given up on being able to be a full citizen but I contacted NLT and everything was done in a matter of about 2 weeks. I'm forever grateful.

Yaaayyyyy Mr. Ammeson, I'm so proud of you. Thank you for being patient through all the changes with the Supreme Court. I know it seemed like it wouldn't happen but you trusted us to get it done. I remember how frustrated you were but you did it!
It's helping those who are judged on a crimson background gain their lives back . Not only are the participants getting jobs back , there gaining the rights again . It's very hard for someone of a criminal background to adjust to the world again but this nonprofit definitely helps others . This non profit is an opportunity to change someone's life . Nonprofits also put young professionals in touch with influential executives who work on their boards, as well as donors and sponsors, government officials and social activistsThey could improve with better advertising so others can find this .
