Causes: Education, Student Services
Mission: The rhode island college student community government, inc. Is responsible for the administration of the revenues received for all of the student clubs funded. These clubs and services are provided for the promotion of the general welfare of the rhode island college community and the community at large.
Programs: Programming - the programming committee is responsible for planning and running all the various functions held on campus from poetry readings to community events. They help promote relations and unite the community of the ri college campus and surrounding community.
anchor - the anchor is the school newspaper. The newspaper helps give students and area residents a sense of community awareness on issues and news items in the greater rhode island college area. It also gives the students who work for the paper a real sense of independent thinking and decision making.
wxin - this is the school radio station. The radio station provides an excellent opportunity for the station staff to interact with the student body on campus and be involved with campus life on a daily basis as they strive to provide a format of news and entertainment.
this is the combination of all other available rhode island college campus and outside activities and events throughout the year. Some of these many smaller activities and events include but are not limited to the following: alumni dinner, artists & performers, art, photography, asa destresser event, awards banquet, bbq, bubble soccer, calligraphy, carnival, cat week, charities, chess tournament, cinco de mayo, co- sponsorships, community programming, communications day, dances and mixers, diversity events, duck hunt, easter egg hunt, end of year event, fall food festival, grove boston event, halloween party, pinning ceremony, polar plunge, readers' theatre, taste of culture and many other various events and fieldtrips. Related expenses for these activities and events include police/fire marshalls, and other expenses such as supplies, food, meals, lodging and transportation for the multitude of events and field trips sponsored during the year.
