Causes: Arts & Culture, Cultural & Ethnic Awareness
Mission: To provide customized support to artists and curators in residence and working collaboratively with local organizations to create successful residency environments.
Programs: In 2017, we hosted residencies for 58 artists and 7 curators for durations of 1 to 6 months in new york city. In addition, we facilitated residency opportunities for two artists in switzerland and croatia. The core residency program resulted in the production of 36 free public programs held at the organization's space in brooklyn and through the city at partnering venues. Specifically, ru produced 14 solo and group exhibitions; 22 talks, film screenings, and panel discussions. All public programs are made available to the public at no charge, and are directly correlated to the organization's core artist in residency program.
