Mission: The mission of renewable energy institute international (reii) is to support the research, development, demonstration and commercial deployment of next generation technologies for the efficient, economical and environmentally friendly production of clean fuels and clean energy from renewable cellulosic biomass and stranded fossil fuel resources.
Programs: Reii, in collaboration with red lion bio-energy and pacific renewable fuels assisted the united states department of energy in developing a pilot, pre-commercial integrated biorefinery for the production of high-quality, synthetic diesel fuels from agriculture and forest residues. Current, proven unit processes were integrated into a pilot, fully integrated biorefinery plant in toledo, ohio to demonstrate the efficient conversion of 25 dry tons per day of agriculture and forest biomass residues into synthetic diesel fuel. Information generated from this pilot facility will be used for the design and deployment of commercial scale plants.
