Mission: Remodeling the Mind is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and to educating the community about mental and behavioral health. Our work is driven by our commitment to promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, including prevention/mentoring services; early identification and intervention by means of education; and support by resource awareness for those who need it; with recovery as the goal.
Results: We were established in March of 2018
Target demographics: provide services to our community by means of education, resource awareness and mentoring. With a focus on youth at risk for developing mental and/or behavioral health disorders
Geographic areas served: The Dallas County and Surrounding Areas
Programs: 1. The Remodeling Project is the central program that offers youth, that have already been identified as at-risk, an opportunity to work with a caring mentor to improve their ability to develop a positive attitude towards their future.
2. The Renovation Project is our program for educating the local and surrounding areas of Dallas County about mental and behavioral illness. Our program aims to reduce stigma by promoting awareness about the prevalence of mental health disorders and the effectiveness of seeking help. The ultimate goal is to create a supportive environment in schools and the community where individuals feel comfortable speaking up and asking for help.
I Saw this website and I thought wow, finally people are trying to make a change in this world! I have met people with depression, I have met people that are bipolar, etc. When I introduced them to this website they thanked me 100 times, they told me this website helped them, and I believe it. This website has taught me alot about mental health, and what people's minds are capable of doing. It's crazy, I really enjoy this website! I can't wait to see how it improves, and what it will turn into in the future!
Talking with the people at RtM has helped me see things a little different. I have been diagnosed with major depression disorder and I have major anxiety and I am excited that RtM is trying to start up support groups for people like me! This company is doing great things!!
