Mission: Rdkc is committed to the creation and presentation of original, contemporary dance works while making the art of dance widely assessable through workshops, outreach programs and performances that reach audiences diverse in age, culture and economic backgrounds.
Programs: Rkdc provides dance programs and residencies, outreach workshops and professional concert dance performances in the greater los angeles area and tours regionally and nationally. Since 1999, through its ongoing residency program with the city of torrance, seven-nine working artists, weekly, have taught over 19,000 students ages 2-89 in a variety of dance genres including ballet, modern, contemporary, hip hop, pilates, yogalates, and jazz. Rkdc also mentors the x-factor dance project, a youth performance group for dancers 8-18 that perform bi-annually and have special performances with the professional company. Rkdc presents two installations of their biannual performance "the kids show" where 400 students perform at the james armstrong theater in torrance for 1000 audience members. Rkdc had another very busy and successful year. Regina klenjoski premiered a new work, filtered reality and lily and the scorpion, toured to tulsa, ok and the dancing with rkdc program grew in attendance and scope of classes offered in their home location, torrance, ca. The company continued creating work, teaching master classes, offering performances and outreach programs in torrance, long beach and in festivals and concert performances throughout southern california and regionally.
