Mission: Rainbow house helps achieve safety, stability, and health. We fulfill this mission through individual and group counseling for women and children, legal advocacy, outreach and education, and referrals for further services. We also advocate for systematic change that reduces the prevalence and impact of domestic violence. Rainbow house works closely with local schools, churches, and the district 10 police station to coordinate a compassionate and strong community response to domestic violence. Based in little village, the majority of clients are spanish speaking, but services are open to all women and children regardless of race, ethnicity, or place of residence. All services are free of charge.
Programs: Domestic violence prevention and education program (dvpep) - focuses on the roots of domestic violence by providing community education, training and public policy work to individuals and organizations at a local, regional and national level. The program serves over 2,000 individuals on an annual basis.
children's services - offers specialized, comprehensive programming that addresses the emotional and development needs of children affected by abuse through individual, group and family counseling; non-directive play therapy and art therapy; healthcare; and education advocacy.
community resource program - offers intervention, counseling, advocacy, resources, and referrals for women and children affected by abuse to the latino community of little village.
