I began as a volunteer at adoption events with Promises Animal Rescue this year, and after a few months I knew I wanted to be a foster mom as well. P.A.R.'s Debbie Thomas is an amazing lady who works non-stop and is completely devoted to finding that forever home for each dog rescued. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of an organization so dedicated to rescuing dogs from high risk shelters, are in an abused situation, or from owners who can no longer provide the proper care. Fostering has been a rewarding experience, caring for these dogs and puppies who may not have had the opportunity to be loved and cared for. Though a bit sad, it has been a joy to see my fosters with their new families. I admit, I was taken by surprise when my husband and I recently adopted one of our fosters. We had no intention of looking for a second family dog when I brought in the fosters. However, after watching this puppy's interaction with our older dog, we see how he has helped her overcome her shyness. We fell in love with this puppy and knew we wanted him to become one our family members and a companion for dog Hope. Thank you P.A.R. for sending us this bundle of joy! I look forward to continue fostering with P.A.R.
I can't say enough good things about this rescue. They are extremely pleasant to deal with, they show the love that they have for the dogs along with the interest that people have. They have worked with our family three times already in finding the right match for our family and lifestyle. For each new family member that we've adopted from them have been just the perfect fit for us. We couldn't be anymore happier then what we are with this great group.
I first came across this rescue when I was looking to adopt a dog. After seeing a dog at Promise Animal Rescue that I just fell in love with instantly after looking at picture I emailed Debbie and got the application process started. Since that moment I have adopted the dog I I fell in love with and I now volunteer every weekend at adoption events. All of her adoption events are leash only and no cages which is fantastic for the dogs. She is very thorough to make sure the dogs go to the best possible Home they can and you can tell how much she cares for each and every animal that crosses her path. I will continue to volunteer with P.A.R and hopefully Foster when I get place to myself and the extra room to accommodate doggies. Great rescue with amazing volunteers. There was a senior lab in a shelter near me that had numerous health issues and had been neglected. Promises didn’t hesitate to take in the lab even though he was going to have fairly extensive medical bills. Marty (the lab) got a second chance of life, and is now in a wonderful forever home thanks to Promises.
We recently found a dog on craigslist that we had taken into our home. After a couple of days the pup became ill. After a vet visit we ended up at the emergency room. After test were done it was found that our pup had parvo. At this point we were very emotional, the clinic contacted Promises Animal Rescue to see if they would be willing to donate blood from a surviving parvo pup. It wasn't 30 minutes later Promises Animal Rescue arrived with a beautiful dog. Rocket is a parvo survivor. We were so impressed with the devotion they have for all dogs. We later found out that the rescue continued to contact the clinic to get updates on our pup.
PAR is a great organization! We have a GSD at home and felt he needed a friend. We decided to go thru a rescue organization and are ever so glad we did. We added Sage to our family and she is such a great dog! She looks up to her big brother Jethro and they get along like two peas in a pod! Erica and Debbie made the transition a enjoyable journey. We are delighted to have Sage as part of our family

I had an excellent experience with Promises Animal Rescue! I describe the type of dog we were looking for and they were able to match Maddie to our family perfectly!! The people I met, who have fostered and cared for Maddie along the way, were such warm and carrying people. Maddie is so loving and calm and gets along very well with our 12 yr old cat. We couldn't be happier with our new addition to our family. :) We adopted her about a month ago, have already bonded and receive her unconditional love and lab tail wagging!!!

Maddie had such a hard life before giving birth to litters after litters. She never really had a home, we are so very thankful that you opened your home to this beautiful girl.
I have been blessed to have adopted three dogs from PAR and help my Mom to adopt a puppy. My one adopted dog was a senior who was my first rescue and although I only had her for one year I know in my heart it was her best year and it made me know I will always adopt and never shop for a dog. PAR helps you to make the process painless and quickly unlike many rescues they keep you up to date where you are in the process and if your references are not responding they will call you so you can call them and get them to respond. If you have an issue with your adopted dog they will help you. Their goal is to adopt all dogs so they can save more dogs. Love this place and you will too!!!!

We adopted an 8 week old pup named Chloe for Promises Animal Rescue. We changed her name to Maggie Mae now. We live in Southern Maryland and were worried that the distance would make it hard to meet Maggie. The wonderful woman, Joanne, who is in charge of setting up the home visit and checking references, went the extra mile for us. She did everything she could to make sure we got our home visit done so we could meet our girl. I had been wanting to adopt for a while after fostering several dogs for another rescue. When I saw Chloe/Maggie's picture online I fell in love with her instantly. I cannot say enough good things about Joanne and how far above and beyond she went for me. Wonderful people here at Promises! They really make you feel like apart of their Promises family when you adopt a dog from them. We love our little Maggie Mae and couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. If you are looking to adopt, I highly recommend this rescue!

My boyfriend Jacob and I started looking to rescue early into the summer of 2016 with the hopes of in no time having a new friend. We hit many roadblocks with other agencies and quickly became discouraged with the process of adoption. We applied for Promises Animal Rescue, as we were very interested in one of the dogs from there, and from that moment on everything turned around! We were moving through the process much faster than other agencies and quickly learned we had been approved to adopt. The owner, Debbie Thomas, did everything to make sure we were finding the right fit for our lives. After a couple of visits with different available dogs, our hearts were set on one. Debbie was so accommodating through the entire process and without her we would not have had such as successful adoption. Promises Animal Rescue has far exceeded our expectations and we are truly blessed with our new friend Talon (Previously Reeva). She brings so much joy to our lives and was well worth the wait! I have been a volunteer with Promises Animal Rescue for over two years. They are the most wonderful and caring group of people. Many lives have been saved because of them. Animals who are rescued by Promises are lucky. Some arrive, unfortunately, not ready for their furever homes due to health issues. They are in loving foster homes and treated with the best medical care. We have adopted twice from them. We first adopted Chip (now Cody) and he has been such a fun addition to our family and quite an entertaining character. We just adopted Swiffer (now Jake) and we were supposed to foster him. One day in our home and we lost our hearts. He is a great pup. I can't say enough about Promises other than they are the best!

I am proud to say I have been a volunteer with Promises Animal Rescue for over a year. Promises is a wonderful group of dedicated people helping rescue German Shepherds and Labs from shelters and bad situations. I can't say enough good things about them. We adopted Claus (now Spicoli) about 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier with our decision! Promises Animal Rescue was wonderful to work with. They were quick to respond to our application and questions, and the overall process moved very quickly and smoothly. I appreciate the extra detail and photos that Promises posts for their available dogs versus other rescue organizations - that made finding the right dog much easier and insured a better match for all involved. We also enjoyed meeting his Foster, Dari, and appreciated the advice and follow-up that she has shown over the last two weeks. Promises truly has its dogs best interests at heart. When you make the decision to add an animal to your family, it's important, when you choose to get that animal from a rescue it's life changing, not as much for you but for that dog who is getting a new chance in life. This will be our second adoption with Debbie Thomas, and we couldn't be happier. By explaining our lives and her observing our family she has matched us up perfectly with the best dogs suited for us and in turn suited for them. Every form of communication is met with experience and patience. Her dogs are well cared for, in foster homes of her choosing, with detailed progress and follow ups. Every dog is careful cared to and thoroughly gone over by caring professionals that see the effort that goes into this animals finding them a new family. We couldn't be happier with our newest southern gentleman, I know when your ready to make that decision to bring that new family member in remember with this rescue it's quality over quantity!

I have volunteered for shelters, etc before and I can't say enough about PAR. Debbie Thomas has some much passion and love for rescuing it is amazing. She truly is an inspiration. These dogs are in such great hands when their lives are saved by her.
I have contacted Promises Animal Rescue out of desperation regarding a dog in a high kill shelter in Alabama. Not only did they help one dog but they saved the life of two dogs. They work so quickly through contacting different resources to help complete a life saving rescue. I am completely impressed by the professionalism and networking of this rescue. They get the job done while maintaining a fabulous reputation while doing it. I highly trust and recommend this rescue to anyone.

I first got in contact with Promises Animal Rescue in February 2015. I fostered (and failed) when I adopted my first foster dog in April 2015. Tyson (now known as Nitro) was my first introduction to Megaesophagus and during his time with us, we fed him from a bailey chair, monitored his intake, etc. It was probably one of the greatest learning experiences from working with a dog with special needs. Now, over a year later, I have one of the best companions that I could have ever dreamed of with his megaesophagus being completely dormant. We lucked out with our guy, but Promises taught my family and myself that Mega-E is not a death sentence. With love and a little extra work, these dogs can be the most faithful and loving pet and family members. I'd like to thank Debbie Thomas and Sue Shank for helping us along our journey. Seeing all of the other reviews has made me so incredibly proud to be a volunteer with this rescue.

I joined this rescue when I was being visited for a home inspection from another rescue. When the volunteer came to our house, she brought an 8 week old puppy named Tyson. We immediately fell in love with Tyson and wanted to know more about him. I filled out my application for Promises and I was approved to foster within the week! During this time, I also discovered the condition called MegaEsophagus and it broke my heart to hear that so many dogs were put down each year to a seemingly easy-to-treat condition. It was also then that we discovered that Tyson, the puppy, had MegaE. We knew then that we had to help! With the assistance of Debbie (the Rescue's President) and her wonderful rescue team, we were able to adopt Tyson and adjust well enough to care for a dog with Mega E. I would not have known about this condition nor would I have such a great puppy if it wasn't for Promises Animal Rescue. All members are very willing to answer any questions that you might have! Debbie even told me that there is no question too small when it comes to these dogs. Everyone involved cares so much for the dogs and I am very thankful to be surrounded by such MegaE/Rescue support! Above all else, I love that the mission of this rescue is to help ALL dogs; no matter the condition!

Katie, Thank you so much for the words of praise!! Besides rescuing healthy GSDs and Labs, we also rescue/support MegaE dogs and their owners. Not many people are willing to take the little extra time it takes to feed these dogs in their "chairs." Thank you to you for being someone who IS willing to take the time. Although Tyson's feeding regimen is a little different than other dogs', he is otherwise a typical, normal, GSD puppy. Growing and active!! We are always here to answer any questions.

Promises Animal Rescue has truly been a life saver for dogs at Hardin County Animal Shelter in Elizabethtown, Ky. The rescue is efficient and very professional in their interactions and their intent. Promises has taken HW +'dogs who would have lost their lives in an open intake shelter without the help of Promises. They have taken fearful dogs worked to socialize the dogs and teach them to become loved pets. Promises has been a much appreciated rescue partner.

Promises is a wonderful organization that truely cares and does everything they can for these furbabies.Debbie is an amazing lady. If it wasn't for Debbie, Lucy, a beautiful white German Shephard baby would have died. Lucy was diagnosed with parr with Megaesophogas. She was starving. The vet here recommend euthanasia. She weighed only 4 lbs at 11 weeks old.This was a special little girl. I could not euthanize this precious baby.
Promises and I found each other and Debbie went to great lengths to save her. She truely loves all these babies and is very true to her word. She kept me updated on everything along the way. Lucy has now been adopted by a wonderful family and is doing Wonderful. Thank you Debbie. Promises Animal Rescue is an amazing rescue with amazing loving people.

My introduction to Debbie Thomas was through Virginia German Shepherd Rescue. She was foster mom for Zeus, whom I adopted. He was an incredible dog. We guided him through a total hip replacement and degenerative myelopathy during the five years we spent with and loved him. Throughout this time I was in contact with Debbie to share information about Zeus, and for support when I had questions. She was wonderful! She has now taken on Promises Animal Rescue and is doing amazing work with megaesophagas dogs, who are difficult to place. Her activity in the rescue, as described on Facebook (securing, transporting, and placing dogs) is stellar. I am forever impressed with her humanity and dedication, and grateful for her selfless effort on behalf of dogs.

Debbie is passionate about all the dogs, but Debbie and I have a special passion for dogs with megaesophagus!! A lot of veterinarians recommend euthanizing these dogs, saying they could never have any quality of life. We and many other megaE dog owners are proving the wrong!! With proper feeding methods, they can live pretty normal lives!! Sue-Mom to 3 ME dogs!!
I have been a volunteer for Promises Animal Rescue for two years. I love working with this great bunch of people, we work together to help dogs find loving homes. It's a great organisation, we all have the same goal. Rescue dogs.
We have been looking for some time now to find a special animal for our 17yr old son and we are glad to have found Promises Animal Rescue when we were searching for a new addition to our family. We saw little Fiona on their site and we knew that we had to have her. It didn't matter to us that she had a disability our disposition was a perfect fit for us. When we fist met her she was a little shy and a little mouthy with our two little Dachshunds that we already had but after a little stroll down the lane she and our two little boys (Sampson & Joey) were just fine. They have since taken to one another beautifully. They playfully wrestle with one another and investigate everything together. My son has done a great job acclimating to her disability and is really taking great care of her. The staff at Promises Animal Rescue have really done a tremendous job making sure we understood her condition and how to feed and care for her because of this she has transitioned nicely and it's as if she was always with us from the beginning even though she is a year old. We are very happy and appreciative for the opportunity to love and add Fiona to our family.

Thank you so much for adopting Fiona! She was destined to be euthanized, but the vet tech called us instead to take her into rescue. As you can see, megaesophagus does not mean an automatic death sentence! They just need to be fed a little differently! Please continue to spread awareness of this disorder and the minor adjustment necessary to feed them. A lot of veterinarians still recommend euthanizing puppies with this condition. We, at Promises tend to disagree! We are glad she is fitting in so well with your family and pack!! She was a cutie when we rescued her and she has turned into a beautiful girl! Sue
I think the most important thing I can say on behalf of my experience with Promises is that they responded and responded quickly. I was actively looking for a dog for more than three weeks through Petfinder and Adoptapet and inquired about several dogs prior to adopting from Promises, only to find out after I filled out the application that the dogs had already been adopted or worse, I was never contacted at all. Very frustrating, especially as I had a time constraint within which I was working - my daughter's birthday was at the end of the month and this was to be her present. Promises got back to me within 24 hours and continued to be responsive throughout the process. Promises had the phone number of one of the organizers on the post and I called it immediately and was able to arrange a meeting with the dog and things moved forward from there. I cannot tell you how important that was to me. We adopted Sheena a little more than a week ago and she is just a fantastic dog - hard to believe she was on the street. Mostly likely that is because someone at Promises was working with her. I met and liked Sheena's foster very much and know she must have had quite a bit to do with that, so it is wonderful to know Promises' fosters are loving dog-people. So, to sum up, compared to the other adoption agencies out there, Promises really delivers.

I love Promises Rescue, we adopted our beautiful boy Charlie and the help and assistance we received to get our paperwork through was second to none. Sandal has been amazing throughout the whole process, from travelling a great distance to do the home visit and on hand for all my questions about Charlie since. I love that I have been able to e mail or call up and will get a quick response. Debbie and Sue have also been great and I honestly feel like we are part of the Promises family. I highly recommend this Rescue for their care and kindness and the awesome work they do but also because of their efficiency, knowledge, experience, their consideration of their adopters, and all round approach to Rescue.

We adopted Lucky 2 weeks ago. Debbie was very helpful and encouraging throughout the adoption process. Lucky is just the dog our son was looking for - friendly, affectionate and very smart. He is looking forward to taking Lucky to obedience training and bonding more.

Our family adopted Jack at the end of July. The volunteers at Promises were excellent in helping to match the right dog for our family. I started showing signs of a possible allergy shortly after the adoption, and Debbie was with us 100%. After allergy testing for me, and some meds for a little skin irritation on Jack, all is well. Jack is an excellent dog and a perfect addition to our family! I would highly recommend Promises Animal Rescue if you are considering adopting a dog.

I've grown up having dogs as pets my whole life. After I got married three years ago my husband and I decided to wait on adopting until we had more time and space. Fast forward three years and we bought our first home with a fenced in yard that had "dog paradise" written all over it. When we went to our first adoption day with Promises they were so warm, friendly, and easy to talk to. I talked with the founder Debbie and she suggested two dogs that she felt would fit the needs and desires of our family. One of these dogs was our Lady. The adoption process was very quick. The rescue quickly called our references and scheduled our home visit. In about two weeks after meeting her Lady came to her forever home with us. This rescue is invauable to our family not just because they gave us Lady but also because they set us up with the right dog for us and the right family for her. They have genuine passion and love for dogs that is a blessing to witness. Thank you for your hard work and dedication Promises!

My Husband and I were starting our search for a new dog to welcome into our home. When we came across Promises they truly made us feel like we would be making a difference in a dogs life, and that they truly cared about what kind of home the Animal was going to. Their background check was very thorough and Debbie was such a pleasure to work with. They hid NOTHING when it came to each dog and made us really understand we could trust them. Everyone that we met had the same main goal.. find the perfect pet for the perfect home. It was not about just dumping animals and wishing them luck as we had the scene with some rescues.
Even though we found out new addition to our family with another rescue, Promises still wanted to be involve and was very happy for us. They asked for photos of our new puppy and were excited right a long with us. I will defiantly be recommending Promises to everyone and they will be my first choice when it comes to adding more fur family members.

My husband and I adopted a ME GSD from Promises. Debbie Thomas was with us every step of the way. PAR could have put him down when he was so sick but they took a chance on him and what a gift he has been to us. Thank you PAR and Debbie Thomas!
We contacted Promises Animal Rescue in February to learn more about their organization and adoptable dogs. They were wonderful to work with and they responded to any questions we had within the same day. We adopted Ginny (formerly Roxie) from them in March. We were all so thrilled to include Ginny into our family. The process was very smooth and the foster mom was so wonderful and patient with all the questions we had. We definitely recommend adopting a rescue dog from Promises Animal Rescue!

My fiance and I are volunteers/foster parents with Promises Animal Rescue. We recently failed "Fostering 101" when we adopted our second P.A.R. foster, a young German Shepherd called Sheba. We couldn't love our girl more! Sheba, now known as Josephine, was pulled by Promises from the Hardin Co. Animal Shelter in Elizabethtown, KY. I truly appreciate that Promises actively seeks at-risk puppies and dogs that are often overlooked because they are from rural shelters.
A special note of thanks to the group's president, Debbie Thomas, who went above and beyond to coordinate Jo's transport, driving her from Charlottesville to Gainesville to meet us at 12:30AM on a Monday! Her devotion resonates amongst the group and has created a culture of dedication and selflessness.

We adopted Bailey (formerly Pie) a couple weeks ago and she has warmed up to our family and dog Marley as much as we have warmed up to her. The people at Promise Rescue care very much about finding good homes for dogs and took time to get to know us and make sure we were a good fit for Bailey. Sue and Debbie are very nice people and do a great service helping animals. They made it possible for us to be matched with our loving Bailey and we are so grateful.

Here I am again, not only a volunteer with Promises, but a two time adopter as well!
We first brought Tessa into our family. She was four months old, and it was evident she was going to be a very big girl. She is currently almost a year old, has been working with a trainer, and is such a very good girl. The adoption process was very pleasant. I knew Debbie from when she was working with GSR in Sterling, and had, in fact, adopted a....dalmatian...., with Debbie working to save that old girl.
Recently, I went to Lexington, KY to pick up Anna and Fonzi from a kill shelter there. Somehow, Anna stayed here, joined in Tessa's training, and made a place for herself among our myriad rescues, mostly old sick girls. She and Tess are a hoot, they play from sun up to sun down, collapse for the night and are at it again in the morning.
Debbie and Promises were again on top of everything, gave us all the support we needed to make this decision.
Promises Rescue is great. The people are compassionate, but determined to find just the right home for each and every rescue. Highly recommend!
From the very beginning Promises Animal Rescue (PAR) has been an absolute pleasure to work with. From the application process to the home visit and through the adoption process, it was fast, easy and pleasurable. I worked with Debbie and Sandal (the foster mom). I definately would highly recommend this adoption agency to anyone looking for a German Shepherd/ Lab or mix. They are very professional and it was obvious they cared very much about their dogs and who they paired the dogs with. On 11/09/2014 my husband and I adopted Loki a male German Shepherd and he is absolutley the best dog. I am definately going to use PAR again when I adopt our next Dog hopefully in a year or so.
We have nothing but praise for our experience working with Promises Animal Rescue. We interacted primarily with Debbie, who was also the foster mom. 'Roxanne' had to be taken to the vet soon after her adoption was complete, and I was met at the vet by Sue who stayed with me during the appointment, and Promises covered the bill. We were so surprised! They also called and emailed several times to see how she was doing and transitioning within our family. We have adopted 3 rescues now, and can say that the process with Promises Animal Rescue was by far the most caring and thorough experience we have had adopting fur-babies.

I have known these women for years and know from long experience that they are caring, and conscientious, and the most knowledgeable Mega e experts anywhere. They are always ready to help any dog anywhere. Donations are nice whenever you can, but they give tall the help they can regardless. They pioneered caring for Mega E dogs who were otherwise destined to be euthanized, and have saved countless lives doing so. They know that their help can make the difference for a given pup's survival, or not. They care so much and do drive themselves relentlessly to spread the word and to save the dogs they have chosen to be responsible for. I love them for what they do and how hard they work at it. Thank you my friend! We love all our pups in the rescue but we have a soft spot for our megaE babies! We love our megaE babies and love helping others to cope with this disorder in their pups. Most vets tell owners to euthanize their megaesophagus dogs saying the dog could not have any quality of life. Well we beg to differ and we have proven them wrong and will continue to try do so!! We currently have 3 dogs with megaesophagus in our rescue and all are doing well. Sue
All of our pets are rescues and I can honestly say that Debbie and Gina were absolutely wonderful to work with, by far the best experience we've had so far! We have a great new addition to our family and intend to return to Promises for a second one. It is very obvious how much everyone truly cares about these dogs. Gina,the foster mom, did a fantastic job socializing and getting the house training started. I highly recommend this rescue group to anyone looking for a great new family member!
Not only am I a volunteer but a client as well. I fell in love with my foster(as I usually do) but decided that this time I was keeping her. Promises works hard at making good matches for fosters and adopters. I don't know what i would do without Mandy in my life.
My family and I were so pleased to work with Debbie, Pat and several other volunteers at Promises Animal Rescue to adopt our 11 week old lab mix Emma. Debbie and Pat were wonderful in answering any questions and addressing any concerns. Debbie was wonderful throughout the home visit, meeting several of the available dogs at one of their local events, through the adoption paperwork and meeting the veterinary clinic that worked with Emma (and will continue to work with Emma). Debbie continues to be ready to help with any issues and questions that come up. We highly recommend Promises Animal Rescue!
We adopted our Lab mix (since named Nutmeg!) from Promises just one week ago. We couldn't be happier with the experience. Debbie was wonderful about providing us with information during the process of adoption, always returning our calls speedily and giving us lots of updates. The adoption paperwork was handled very professionally, and she clearly did a great job with the early training and socializing of our 12 week old puppy! We would highly recommend this rescue.
We are grateful to PAR for bringing our dog, Leo to us. We just adopted him this weekend and PAR has been wonderful throughout the process. From the application process, to the home-visit and meet and greet, PAR was professional and helpful in finding the right dog. It is obvious that they love what they do and take great care with the dogs. We highly recommend this rescue.

I adopted a wonderful german shepherd mix dog from Promises. They were exeptionally professional. The foster parent, Sue Shank was unbelievably helpful in guiding me toward the dog of my dreams. She also took exeptional care of my dog Izzy for 4 months. The personel àt Promises are very dedicated to the animals they rescue and they make sure they go to a good home.

These folks are great! All the animals come first, but they are great with people too ;) They worked with us to keep the adoption a secret from our daughter until the very last minute. She was so surprised when Sue came by for the home visit!

We went to a Promises event and found the volunteers there to be some of the most loving, considerate people we have ever met. They loved the dogs that were there with them. We met "Izzy" and found her to be a great dog. We talked to her foster parent Sue. We could tell right away that Sue loved Izzy and only wanted the best for her. Sue came to our home and spent several hours with us. Although we decided not to adopt Izzy, we had a great experience with Sue and their whole orginization. The world is a better place because of people like Sue and Promises rescue. Go see them, they will warm your heart.

I met the Founder of the rescue many years ago when I first started many years ago. She's committed to helping dogs. We coordinated many transports from SC and NC. She took a lot of dogs from the South and I had the honor to drive them.
I have known one of the founders of Promises for many years and had adopted from her twice with another group. When I found out she had founded a new group I wanted to do my part to help out. They are a wonderful group of people dedicated to rescuing these animals and preparing them for their forever homes. I have learned so much from them and want to continue to help them and these pets. They are patient and loving with both the pets and potential adopters and it's wonderful to see these dogs and puppies evolve into the wonderful beings they are. I myself, already the proud parent of two pups, recently adopted one of Promises rescues and he has added so much enjoyment and fun to our family. I can't say enough about them.
My sweet Contessa (Tess) is a shiloh shepherd we adopted from Promises as a young puppy. What a great experience! The rescue was very responsive and communication was great. We then had the joy of picking our girl up at her wonderful foster home and meeting the head of Promises as well as the volunteers involved in this rescue.
I have been involved in animal rescue for more than 25 years and I recognize an excellent group. Promises really cares about their pups, and cares enough to fetch dogs that need to be rescued from hundreds of miles away.

We recently adopted a rescue pup from Alabama through Promises and the entire experience was extremely personalized. We had a home visit to make sure living conditions would be suitable for the puppy which I appreciated. Unfortunately, sometimes animals are adopted by well-meaning people with unnacceptable living condtions. The rescue workers went out of their way to make sure the home visit, application process and puppy pick-up were all extremely painless. We really appreciated the painless process of finding our puppy. This is a great organization and would totally recomend it to others seeking a FURever companion.
My family had the opportunity and the pleasure to meet some wonderful people. We enjoyed the information and the conversations with everyone from the rescue. But what we truly love is the bundle of furry love they were able to prepare for our household. Upon receiving our dog we felt the love and care he received before us and we love that they had so much love to give him. My husband and our 12 year old son can't thank Promises Animal Rescue enough for their professionalism, love and joy they bestowed up us.

I meant the founders of Promises through another rescue we each volunteered/fostered with. I was fostering a special needs dog and they were able to guide me through the day to day regiment. I had no idea what I had taken on and they made the transition very doable. They were friendly, patient and always available so when they founded Promises I was totally on board. I am currently fostering for Promises and it has been a pleasure. They have a heart for special needs dogs and extend their knowledge freely to help others give their special needs pet a long and healthy life.
