Mission: Project transformations mission is to 1 provide socially conscious leadership training for college-age young adults 2 support underserved children and youth through meaningful relationships providing academic, social, and spiritual programming and 3 serve as a catalyst to strengthen churches to be more responsive in low-income communities.
Programs: During the 2016-17 program year project transformations six affiliated chapters in central texas, north texas, south texas, oklahoma, pacific northwest, and tennessee delivered results for children 2,675 at-risk children participated in 8-week summer day camp, 151,001 healthy meals served, 39,116 books read, 96 of children maintained or improved reading levels over the summer, 81 of children were racial minorities college interns 313 college-age young adults served summer internships, 115,775 hours served, 101 different churches and ministry organizations hosted visits, 53 of college interns were racial minorities, 62 increased their likelihood of continued service with low-income communities and churches 37 churches in low-income communities hosted project transformations summer program, 249 partnering churches provided 5,135 volunteers, serving 34,422 hours in summer program reading one-on-one with children and serving meals to interns, 99 of volunteers had a positive experience and expressed interest in serving again.
