Causes: Arts & Culture, Bands & Ensembles, Music, Symphony Orchestras
Mission: To provide music and music education to the community.
Programs: The prairie ensemble planned a season of 3 concerts for the 2010-11 fiscal year. The first concert on november 16, 2010 featured beethoven's septet in eb, opus 20 performed in a historic opera house, enriched with food & german wine & beer. A similiar fundraising concert with food and wine is planned for march 3, 2012.
during the season's second concert, on jan. 30, 2011 tpe presented the club concert in a campus nightclub accustomed to hosting hard rock & metal bands. In a true mix of cultures, wine-drinking classical music patrons mingled with beer-drinking college students & ordered pizza during the performance from staff trained to work with biker gangs. Tpe had first done this in 2010 and was so happy with the attendees' response that we planned another in 2011. The second performance was even better reviewed.
tpe's third and final concert of the 2010-11 season and fiscal year featured a full chamber orchestra with a virtouoso bandoneon player and a successful local jazz guitarist. This was the best attended concert of the year.
