Programs: Exhibits expense includes the costs to design, fabricate and maintain frost science exhibits and host traveling exhibitions over 100,000 square feet of gallery and related space. These exhibitions explore the science behind ecosystems, flight, engineering, the human body and more.

husbandry expenses include the costs to exhibit and maintain the living collection and habitats located throughout frost science's three-level aquarium, as well as costs to participate in conservation efforts throughout the community.

new museum expenses include non-capitalizable costs related to the construction, fit out and other pre-opening costs of the new frost science facility that opened on may 8, 2017.

guest experience expenses: includes services provided for visitors 365 days per year. Guest and outreach programs: includes the development and delivery of educational programs that increase the public's understanding of science, technology, engineering and math and that serve to attract youth to science and science-based careers. These programs include pop up programming throughout exhibit galleries, special event days, camps, offsite community outreach programs, overnight programs and more. Formal education partnerships: includes both grant-funded and fee-for- service based programs that focus on developing, teaching and training teachers on informal learning models and hands-on science curriculum. These partnerships help foster an interest in stem-based learning and careers, while supporting students, teachers and families in the community. Marketing and communications expenses: includes membership services, previews of exhibitions, production costs of science-based lectures, panels and screenings (live@science), advertising, newsletters and other communications. Sales expenses: includes costs associated with field trips, group visits, private events and birthday parties.
