Thanks to Cuatrogatos, many Spanish-speaking writers, editors and readers from all over the world have grown closer. They cooperate with very important institutions in my country (Spain), like the publishing house SM or the University of Castilla-La Mancha. They carry out a fantastic job, spreading Spanish literature for children all over the world. Their annual Cuatrogatos awards are a worldwide reference.
Cuatrogatos truly has the merit of bringing Spanish-speaking readers, editors and writers from all over the world together. Their annual Premio Fundación Cuatrogatos has become a point of reference. As a writer and teacher of Spanish Literature, I find their reading awakening activities, as well as their academic rigor and erudition extremely helpful and inspiring . Beatriz Giménez de Ory
It is a great organization, very compromised with their mission. We're proud having worked with them as a partner in different events.
I'm one of Imago's Directors, a Cultural Space in Coral Gables, that serves the community by promoting the art and literature, and we've had the opportunity to work with Cuatrogatos Foundation and it has been a very enrichment experience, they are highly committed with the promotion of children spanish reading abilities. We're very proud of all our projects together and I hope we'll have the chance to keep growing with them. I wish the best for this organization.
Cuatrogatos is doing an excellent job of getting kids hooked on books and reading. Among other projects, a few years ago they started bringing out a list of recommended books published in Spanish from Spain and Latin America. In this short time, it has become a highly respected reference tool in Spanish-speaking countries. Their webpage and blog are also filled with important information.
Cuatrogatos Foundation makes a very relevant contribution to the fostering and consolidation of culture and education among children and young adults. It works hard on the promotion of children’s literature and on encouraging children and parents to read. It does a very enthusiastic, meaningful and important work. We really appreciate the contribution of Cuatrogatos Foundation at the Miami Book Fair in their integration of international writers in their project. It is a good cultural reference. Thank you very much for your cultural activity.
Fundación Cuatrogatos was established in Miami to fill a much needed void among children. This non-profit organization, founded by Sergio Andricaín and Antonio Orlando Rodríguez, two of the most talented writers in South Florida, is dedicated to enhance education and culture. Their extensive experience and research is applied towards publishing excellent books for children and young adults. One of their most ambitious objectives is to reach as many homes, schools, libraries and additional spaces to raise interest among young generations to get to read excellent literary works. This organization is reaching their goals and objectives beautifully. Miami needs and deserves Fundación Cuatrogatos. Mario Ernesto Sanchez, Founder/Producing Artistic Director - Teatro Avante/International Hispanic Theatre Festival of Miami.
Cuatrogatos Foundation is an important and very active organization in Miami. The work they do in favor of culture is of great value. I like the way they preserve the Hispanic culture and how they foster a multicultural dialogue in the Miami community.
I met this non-profit organization four years ago at the Centro Cultural Español while celebrating El Dia de la lengua. I have been in contact with them afterwards, in many other occasions. In all of them their presentations, caliber of professionalism and work responsibility has been of the outmost professionalism. I was a participant in a "Teacher Summer Training" the year 2016. I have participated in numerous such trainings. None with the caliber and diversity of presenters. Participants at the incept of the session were not very sure of what to expect. At the end of the week the vibes were very high and enthusiasm permeated all throughout. In my opinion the "Session" was extremely successful. This organization is definitely an asset to this community and to the Spanish Program in Miami Dade Count Public Schools.
Cuatrogatos has been a driving force for quality children's literature written in Spanish. The work of these knowledgeable experts has connected a wide audience to creations produced in many countries and cultures of the Spanish speaking world.
Cuatrogatos is one of the top sources of information to any adult working in the field as a researcher, teacher, author, librarian or parent. In addition their work on the field with children, parents and teachers has helped many bilingual children to become better readers through the contact with good readings originally written in Spanish.
As a researcher and reading promoter I celebrate the work of Cuatrogatos and thank them for existing.
For all those who work with children's books, the Cuatrogatos Foundation is one of the most valuable institutions in the study of children's literature in spanish. The amount of resources and information that it offers in its pages, as well as their careful study of the current production makes it an indispensable place of consultation and information. As a National Reading Promotion Award in Spain, I can assure you that, in my work, the Foundation's seriousness and commitment is inspiring.
Ana Garralón, researcher and author
I only have praises for Cuatrogatos, an organization that stimulates and cultivates interest in reading, especially literature, to children and adolescents.
Sergio Andricain, the director of Cuatrogatos Foundation is such a dynamic and positive force in the city of Miami that there is no week that the city does not count with events or programs initiated by the foundation that he runs. Cuatrogatos is a powerful cultural source in the city of Miami.
Reading is for the spirit like breathing is for the body and it is precisely what Cuatrogatos Foundation is giving to the children and young people of the city, the opportunity to know, to expand, to go further in all aspects of life. We all need the enthusiasm, the vitality, the positive approach that Cuatrogatos Foundation gives to the lives of children, young adults and in fact all people in Miami, Florida.
Magali Alabau, poet
I have been following the organization CUATROGATOS since its beginning. I am impressed with the work they do to promote children’s literature and the love of reading among children and young adults.
Their reviews of new publications is essential for teachers, librarians and people connected to the world of children’s literature.
It is essential that Cuatrogatos continue to do the excellent work they do to help children succeed in life.
One of the most vital voices promoting Spanish-language literature for children–especially within the US, but with far-reaching effects throughout the Spanish-speaking world. They create connections and resources among professionals and creators, and many important activities in Miami and elsewhere in the US of bringing literature to Spanish-speaking (or Spanish-learning) children.
Cuatrogatos Foundation is doing exceptional work focusing on the cultural development of children and young adults. The basis of the cultural experiences are the educational literary activities which build on a collective experience. These experiences are essential and contribute to the development of who we are as distinct individual personalities within the larger cultural collective.
Over the years Cuatrogatos has fostered an environment of dynamic activities where traditional methods anchored in reading are transformed by interactions into life experiences. These fluid interactions serve to transform thoughts and words and integrate then into living, breathing reality for the children. Through theater, poetry and fantasy, with the diverse integration of the various visual and digital arts, Cuatrogatos aims to reach the minds of children and young adults to transform us from the inside out!

I am a "book addict" and I want many children to love reading. Cuatrogatos Foundation is a great organization with good programs for the Miami community. This foundation does a great job in favor of reading. I love the bookcrossing "I'n a Traveling Book" and the event "Picnic of Books". Their cultural and educational projects are excellent.
Cuatrogatos Foundation is an incredible organization, with a fantastic staff. Their work to stimulate reading among children and young people is admirable. The diffusion in United States of the Hispanic literature and culture is one of its priorities.
Cuatrogatos Foundation is an AMAZING non profit organization. The secret of its success is very simple: hard work, great imagination and perseverance. I love the work they do to encourage reading in children. Keep going!
"Cuatrogatos" foundation is an institution that continually collaborates with all Latin American countries by providing information regarding books. This foundation provides interviews, contests, essays, and information regarding literary tendencies; it also provides reviews for Latin American children and juvenile books and authors. For small countries like Bolivia, this foundation provides a wealth of information since we have limited access to books from other countries.

Literary knowledge, passion for books, vital commitment, and human and professional quality come together in the work of the Cuatrogatos Foundation. This organization is a guide and reference in Children’s and Young Adult literature in Spanish, both inside and outside the U.S. Their excellent job with families, teachers and children has a profound impact across society.
It is difficult to imagine the world of children's literature in Spanish without the contribution to it from Foundation Cuatrogatos. Precisely because one of its main goals has been to connect different publics and participants in Latin America. Their commitment is sustained and carried out with an unusual conviction and generosity. That is why, for me and for so many other people, they are a cornerstone in the creation, circulation and critical thinking of literature for children and YA in Spanish. Their activities comprises a huge variety, from training teachers in Miami, interviewing a Brazilian illustrator or publishing a book on Latin American literature in the United States, to being part of an academic committee of an Ibero-American Congress or judges of an international contest in Mexico.
As a researcher, writer, journalist and reading promoter, Cuatrogatos (Sergio Andricaín and Antonio Orlando Rodríguez), have inspired me to write better stories, do poetry studies for children, write book reviews and, above all, to keeping my own independent blog. Independence, in a project like Cuatrogatos, is of the essence to preserving the trust of the different audiences they reach.
I am hopeful that Cuatrogatos Foundation will continue growing, building bridges through children’s literature and striving towards a peaceful and tolerant world.
Hi! My name is Annie. I live in Miami. I have participed in this organization activities for the last three years with my daughter. They have enriched many children's minds. I want to sincerely express my gratitud to Cuatrogatos Foundation.
Great non profit! Great work for children and teachers! I don't usually post reviews, but the work they do is very important to community. Literature and reading are great treasures that enrich people.
Cuatrogatos Foundation is a valuable organization. His work to bring children, young people and adults to reading is admirable and very original. For Cuatrogatos, books and arts are bridges to a more just, inclusive and respectful society.
Cuatrogatos Foundation is a very inspirational organization. It is amazing watching this great foundation grow. Cuatrogatos loves culture and wants to transmit that love to children. The staff is very special and committed to education and human values. I love "The Reading Festival", an event they do each year during Hispanic Heritage Month. Undoubtedly, it is a pride of Miami culture.
The effort that the Cuatrogatos Foundation has been doing for years It's full of magic, love and professionalism for children's literature. For me, as a Designer and children's book Illustrator is an honor to support them.
I've had the pleasure to collaborate in many activities created by the Cuatrogatos Foundation and have to say it has been an honor to work with such a professional organization. They worked with so much love for Hispanic kids in Miami. His work is very admirable and worthy of recognition. Thanks for trust in me.
I have known 'Fundacion Cuatrogatos' for several years. They are a group of people dedicated to promoting reading among the youth with extensive activities both in and out of school. I believe they are key promoters of the cultural scene in Miami; a group of hard working and dedicated individuals elevating the cultural level in Miami. I highly recommend any of their activities; which I truly hope can continue for the benefit and enjoyment of all.
Thanks to Cuatro Gatos for cultivating the love for books and specially for books in Spanish in our community. As a professional of the Spanish Books industry and as a Miamian I appreciate a lot all that you do for our children. Keep going!
Reading and writing is an urgency around the world. The more people educated, the objectives of prosperity, peace and development, will be achieved in less time and with more impact. This is what the Cuatrogatos Foundation has in its main goals, therefore, it must be applauded and supported. With their magnificent work, they have reached an enormous variety of public: authors, illustrators, artists, publishers, educational institutes and unconventional places to read for kids, as hospitals. All my thankful thoughts and words, for their day to day work, spreading new paths along an education that claims hopes and dreams to come true.
Cuatrogatos Foundation has done outstanding work in the promotion of reading and children´s books from Latinamerica and Spain. Its webpage, Miaublog, (fantastic name!) is a lively and widely read source of relevant information. Don´t miss it if you are interested in this field. Cuatrogatos Best Children´s Books of the year is a prestigious award all publishers wait for anxiously every January. Workshops, family activities, publications, school work are all done with the passion of true readers. One can hardly imagine it´s the work "de sólo cuatro gatos".
The first time I heard something about Cuatrogatos Foundation I knew something necessary and transcendent was brewing in our community. Attend any event that promotes this institution is a feast for the spirit, a tribute to the human essence and its most nobler purposes; it's not only the reading, is the music, is the theater, pantomime, art in general and the joy of living that, so seriously, promotes Cuatrogatos. The world needs efforts as well; children and young people need, for their growth and development, have experience of this magnitude. We welcome, hopeful, this endeavor. Thank you!
As the father of three, I'm conscious that there is nothing more important than promoting reading. The Cuatrogatos Foundation Inc is unique as it tirelessly works in South Florida — where there is a sizable Hispanic population— to bring books to kids and young adults that help them identify with and value their culture. Cuatrogatos' mission is essential to creating good citizens in our society.
Armando Lucas Correa
Editor in Chief/People en Español
I am the Editor in Chief of a national magazine focused on the family for six years, and it is not easy to find cultural organizations that provide the wealth, excellence and at the same time the human warmth that understands what each age needs.
In D'Latinos Magazine we are very selective with those who collaborate, which places us in a privileged position compared to other publications. So we never wanted other options, and we chose Cuatrogatos as the sole responsible for our reading section.
The level, selection and excellence of the contents is exceptional.
On the other hand, I have known the founders of Cuatrogatos for more than 20 years, and it is a privilege to have them as friends.
Ethel C. Palaci
Editor in Chief
I had the privilege to work with Cuatrogatos Foundation while I was the Executive Director for Cultural Affairs at Miami Dade College, and together we implemented a children's literature seminar during the annual Miami Book Fair which continues to be extremely successful year after year. They do excellent work with children and young adults through innovative activities that are fun and engaging. Their recommended list of titles is a great source for educators and parents alike. In addition, the Cuatrogatos Foundation's contribution through the production of other high-quality events for adults and the promotion of other forms of art truly enrich the cultural life of South Florida.
Fundacion Cuatrogatos is doing an excelent job in the promotion of children books in Spanish! Cuatrogatos webpage informs about Spanish literature for children (sharing specialized articles, interviews to authors and news). Great job!
The Fundación Cuatrogatos, created by authors Sergio Andricain and Antonio Orlando Rodríguez, is dedicated to getting quality books in Spanish into the hands of children and young adults, something that is much needed in these times. Besides their goal of getting youngsters hooked on reading so that they develop a life-long love of books, among their projects is the annual publication of their highly respected list of the best books in Spanish, a list that is consulted by creators, librarians, and all those interested in the subject.
Judy Goldman, author
Cuatrogatos Foundation, as you know, it is dedicated to study and to promote books for children and young adults in Spanish. I have no words to emphasize the importance of their work. In our modern culture of images, it is harder and harder to entice youngsters to read. However, Cuatrogatos recommends books so well written, so imaginative and exquisitely illustrated, that they immediately delight young readers. Creating the habit of reading at a young age is one of the most precious gifts we can give a child, for it enriches life forever.
Uva de Aragon, author and professor
I’m glad that my children had an opportunity to participate in a cultural event (Picnic of Books) that celebrates the Spanish language. As a family there aren’t many opportunities like this in our community. We look forward to continue supporting this organization and all the wonderful events they plan.
When Cuatrogatos Foundation visited our school the kids enjoyed chatting with an author and listening his stories. Thank you, Cuatrogatos!
Cuatrogatos Foundation is a window for our books, a challenge for our intelect and a home for our souls. In Cuatrogatos we find recomended wonderful books for children and young adultos –and even for authors who seek interesting and inspiring creation-. Cuatrogatos gives us an opportunity to show our cultural and humanistic efforts to the world, to see and to be seen, a kind of brotherhood. If you ask me, Cuatrogatos makes the difference...
Becky Rubinstein, author
Once a serious online magazine I used to follow with devotion and currently a Foundation with a very active roll and consistency in the community, Cuatrogatos is a cultural entity we all should be proud of in Florida. These guys have been doing a wonderful job with all the depth and fun that it takes with children and youngsters, using art and communication as crucial tools and showing all of us that a better life s perspective based on culture is possible.
The labour done by Cuatrogatos Foundation has made the difference not only in Miami but also in Latin America, Spain and Portugal. They have built a bridge between authors, artists and readers in different countries. They defend the importance of producing high quality literature for children and young adults. The titles they recommend every year are an important reference for anyone who wants to publish books for young readers. As a writer, it was an honor to take part in their Reading Festival last year, where I was able to appreciate firsthand the great work they have done in their community. Tony and Sergio of Cuatrogatos Foundation, have helped to broaden the horizon of many children and adults through art. They remember us that books are also a meeting point.
South Florida can be proud of the work Cuatrogatos Foundation has done for its community. Not only the children and youth benefit from its work, but also the adults, who seeing their enthusiasm for reading, remember and rediscover the passion that they once enjoyed and may have forgotten. Every town and city in the US should have the fortune to enjoy this type of entity, which not only educates, but enriches the soul.
The foundation cuatro gatos is a treat for the community. A wonderful mix of learning and fun for adults and Childs. An experience of unforgettable memories for the entire family.
In the time I have been living in Miami, one of the most visible, active and leading foundations that i have seen is Cuatrogatos Foundation. Their constant work in the diffusion of Spanish language literature and the transmission of cultural heritage to the new generations of Hispanics in Florida is deserving of praise. Many outstanding artists congregate around Cuatrogatos. Poets, story tellers, playwrights, puppeteers, writers, musicians and painters find an opportunity for expression in the art spaces created by Cuatrogatos. And most importantly, thousands of children of Hispanic origin are receiving this message of multiculturalism.

Cuatrogatos work for children’s literature in Spanish is of great importance. The foundation is a big resource on notes, reviews, interviews and systematic studies of this field, specially in Latin American authors’ work. Their publications and actions around books show the development of illustration, writing and publishing for children books in the Latin American countries.
Their annual selection of relevant books is a very elaborated list of recommendations followed by many preofessionals, teachers and librarians.
As a publishing house, every year we await the day Cuatrogatos announces their list, wishing to be honored by being included in it.
Cuatrogatos is a nonprofit that is doing a lot of great things!!! Not only Sergio and Tony are wonderful human beings that have known, loved and lived children's literature for years, but they are generous enough to share, educate and promote reading at a moment that our children, most need it. Programs like, Picnic of books, The Traveling Books, The Reading Festival are a great gift to children and their parents in the South Florida area. Cuatrogatos' contribution to the Miami Book fair is also very valuable and appreciated and their evaluation and selection of the Top Children's Books of the Year has become a reference for publishers, readers and everyone in the industry. It is always a pleasure to give them a hand every time we can. Raising happier children with access to good books is a great contribution to our future generations and Cuatrogatos is playing and important role in this mission. From all of us at Lectorum, congratulations, keep up the great work and count with our help, every time is possible. Felicitaciones amigos !!!

The Cuatrogatos Foundation is, in my opinion, the most outstanding literary and cultural endeavor offered to children and youth in Miami Dade. Its concentration on the enrichment and appropriation of the Spanish language is, undoubtedly, the greatest effort to maintain and enhance the bilingual nature that distinguishes the population of the county. Cuatrogatos handles texts and authors of high literary quality and employs magnificent resources of great cultural appeal for their audience.
Cuatrogatos Foundation is a fascinating and alternative place where the authors and the readers feel the beautiful, touching and imaginative way of connecting literature and children
This nonprofit Foundation, Cuatrogatos, is working very hard to promote reading among children and young adults, and guiding teachers and parent to choose good books.
It is very well known, nont only in Miami, but also in many another countries, for its serious work, always looking for high quality books for children.
My name is Legna Rodríguez Iglesias. The first time I heard about the "Cuatrogatos" I remembered my little children's cats, those who slept with me hidden under my bedspread. Then I realized that it could be a metaphor, and I thought of my children's books, which also slept with me hidden under my bedspread. I thank cats and books for what I have become. I appreciate everything I've hidden, my small size in the world. I want the "Cuatrogatos" to continue to meow about Miami, so that children have books and meows to hide. I want my name to be a cat's name.
Cuatrogatos promotes children literature in Spanish and encourages children and parents to read. This great organization focuses in creating an interconnected web between parents, teachers, critics and writers, as well as with social organizations. It's primary objective is to present books in Spanish to children participating in community-based, or school based activities, mentoring, child development and family literacy settings. It's work in our communities is of the greatest relevance.
Cuatrogatos Foundation's merit goes far beyond the promotion of reading in the children´s community.
The quality of the publications in Cuatrogatos' blog and the multiple activities, workshops, literary projects, theater, music and reading festivals they organize, serve to help in a comprehensive way not only children and adolescents, but also their families and educational communities In the city of Miami.
Research on literary subjects and the promotion of quality reading through the Cuatrogatos Foundation Award of the top 20 books of the year has become an important reference nationally and internationally.
Menena Cottin, author of The Black Book of Colors
Cuatrogatos Foundation greatly contributes to the cultural life of Miami, organizing high quality events for the community. I would say that they have created a legacy and have forged their own traditions with their sustained work, such as the Fiesta de la Lectura, a series of events that are greatly appreciated by all ages and that attract large audiences. I really hope they can keep their work alive and they can keep growing!
Cuatrogatos Foundation is the perfect bridge between books and readers. I have enjoyed their events, and have seen how children and their families find in their proposals a space of artistic creation, with a touch of sensitivity and good taste. Cuatrogatos has become an indispensable source of culture for the Spanish-speaking community in South Florida, and it is a stimulus for the work of writers, teachers, art promoters, and anyone who cares about the future and the betterment of humanity.
Cristina Rebull, writer
I always like to tell everybody that the city of Miami really reads. Especially to foreigners or people that have recently settled down in this city, known by its beautiful beaches, night life and malls. Yes, Miami reads. Adults, teens and children. And even more: they don’t only read in English. They read in Spanish. Cuatrogatos has been key to this statement: their continuous work within the school system providing reading experiences to many children and training teachers in the art of promoting reading, their family activities around the city with a great selection of book titles from every corner of Latin America and Spain, the passion they take recommending books and promoting authors through social media, all of this has sowed great seeds that we can see now blooming everywhere as kids in Miami show an ever-growing interest for literature and literature in Spanish. I always follow their activities and recommend them everywhere, in the hope of preserving the reading adventure and the beauty of a multicultural city. Thank you, Cuatrogatos.
Cuatrogatos foundation is an incredible organization that promotes culture through books among children and young adults. As a publisher, I’m very grateful for the work that Cuatrogatos does in Miami, it helps us to reach the Spanish speaker community through our books, authors and illustrators. I believe that promoting the habit of reading in children in a creative and fun way helps to develop avid readers as an adults which are able to see things with a broader mind and definitely create a more inclusive, respectful and just society to live in.
As a professional trained and experienced in bilingual and bicultural education,Cuatrogatos Foundation is by far an outstanding tool to help develop important quality reforms for any literacy program dealing with children and youth.
It isn't easy at all to come across a virtual magazine of so many books and writers from such diverse countries and background.
"Hats off" and all my respect to the fine editors who are struggling against all odds to preserve, and promote the very best of the literary treasures available in the market for us to learn ans share.
Cuatrogatos Foundation is an unparalleled institution in Miami. They shine in the design of activities to promote reading among kids and young people. They are a reference in literature for kids and young readers in Florida, Spain, and Latin America.
I am always astonished at what they do with so few resources, without diminishing the quality of the activities. They are "Four Cats" but they mewl loud and clear
Cuatrogatos is an excellent foundation for children, young people and adults. For writers it is known as an essential source of support in the city of Miami, I have had the honor of collaborating in several literary events and their team is always a great example to follow for the high quality and organization of their activities. I hope there are Cuatrogatos for a very long time and for the good and development of literature in Miami.

As an author and a publisher, I’m extremely pleased with Cuatrogatos. This organization promotes the best children literature in Spanish and encourages young people to read. Also, they create wonderful networks among parents, teachers, researchers, publishing experts, writers, and readers. This organization is actively involved in all aspects of education and they promote many reading initiatives within community-based organizations, social service agencies, schools, libraries, institutions, and families. They are completely committed bringing the best literature in Spanish to the attention of those adults who have the academic, professional, or career interest in connecting young readers with books. This kind of organization makes us feel very proud of our cultural heritage and opens our minds to understand and love all the cultures in this wide world. Thanks to Cuatrogatos my three kids have counted with an extraordinary guide of readings.
