this was a very cool experience for me. well in my case i play the congas. THEY ARE VERY FUN WE HAVE very good teachers who teach us a lot. this is not a boring class or anything you might think. this is an opportunity, a chance for you to learn music. and not just music but an instrument!! at the same time. i have learned a lot from them and from what my teacher has taught me. this program has many options you have from Latin music to cello and violin. its a very nice experience. when get to learn an instrument get to learn to love the instrument just like i am. its the best these classes rock! they are like literally the best well according to me. thats my opinion.

this is my presomal experience in this program that in this program the kids here get to learn how to play some instrument that they never played in there life and this program helps them with it.

.ACOP was founded in 2001 and over the years have had thousands of children in the program. Each of those children has received opportunities that would not otherwise have been available. No child has ever been charged to participate in the program and they are accepted without audition.
That is why I like American Children's Orchestras for Peace.

what i like about this program is the fact that the kids are always occupied learning a new peice of music helping them expand in futuristic jobs.
i believe this an amazing program for kids. allowing them to learn various instruments allowing to see a futuristic perciption if they find them selve's intrested in music. it assists the parent economically since its free. and it helps build kids social abilities.

Real talk...When I first arrived in Miami I did not know anyone nor did I speak English very well. A friend of mine told me about the program at the community center in Little Havana that her daughter attended so I took my children. We have attended every week since then with my children learning how important it is to work with other people for the sake of living together in peace. I have sat back and watch and must say the world needs more Arts Program like ACOP. I began this program as a student and since then i have colaberated with the instructors and have become a volunteer due to my love and committment to the program . This program inable's children to learn a various instruments ,and have been here with my cousins and this has enabled us to keep away from dugs and various illegal activities.

ACOP keep children away from unhealthy patterns and those dangerous idle times in after school hours when they may be prone to getting involved with street gangs and other violent activities. In the at-risk communities served by ACOP, after school hours are the most dangerous time for children to be outside in terms of becoming unintentional victims of community or street violence.

My 2 children participate in the American Children’s Orchestras for Peace (ACOP) and I am also a parent volunteer for their many events.
It is with gratitude that I write to you in the hope of impacting your decision to keeping this program open and making it available to all children who do not have the possibility of learning to play an instrument, discover a hidden talent or simply getting that “push” to explore and excel in music.
My daughter played the violin and my son plays the Cello now for over 5 years. When he first came to the program, we did not even know what a Cello was. Thanks to the good eyes and ears of the ACOP teachers, my son won a scholarship to study privately at the Miami Conservatory of Music. At present, he 2 scholarships and divides his time between 2 institutions; he is only 12 years old and we were blessed by having the opportunity of discovering his gift of music at an early age.
American Children’s Orchestra made all this possible for us and we are forever indebted to them. This program needs to grow and reach more children in under-privilege areas but they can not do it without the support of organizations and people like you. We need your help.
