this was a very cool experience for me. well in my case i play the congas. THEY ARE VERY FUN WE HAVE very good teachers who teach us a lot. this is not a boring class or anything you might think. this is an opportunity, a chance for you to learn music. and not just music but an instrument!! at the same time. i have learned a lot from them and from what my teacher has taught me. this program has many options you have from Latin music to cello and violin. its a very nice experience. when get to learn an instrument get to learn to love the instrument just like i am. its the best these classes rock! they are like literally the best well according to me. thats my opinion.

i think that the program is very good and we are learning a lot through it and i also think that we should put more money to the orchestra becaoues we could learn more music and we wil start to impact people by singing for peace this program is also good becaouse people dont have to pay but thats why we also need support so that people pich in and help us sing but with the materials that that we have we cant work so good. this is why we need the financial support but over all it exells with or with out the instruments but it would be helpfull thats what i would say about the program.

.ACOP was founded in 2001 and over the years have had thousands of children in the program. Each of those children has received opportunities that would not otherwise have been available. No child has ever been charged to participate in the program and they are accepted without audition.
That is why I like American Children's Orchestras for Peace.

If had a dime for every time I thought about helping The American Children's Orchestras for Peace, all of their financial worries would be over. I would use that money to reinvest in their program because I believe in what they do. Not just because they help children, but because they help children who would otherwise be left to the streets to
fight for what we as a nation should have already given them ..... Peace

One of the most amazing things I have ever seen was to witness the gigantic smiles and overwhelming joy in the eyes of the children at American Children’s Orchestras for Peace. I now understand and believe the saying that a picture paints a thousand words because of the impression that it has left on me. So now I ask how I can help instead of thinking that someone else is doing what I believe God has called all of us to do….protect the children.

I know ACOP would never beg, but I am begging that if someone is in the position to give, this is a worthwhile program to donate too. Thanks American Children’s Orchestras for Peace for having a vision.

A friend of mine told me about the program at the community center in Little Havana that her daughter attended so I took my children. We have attended every week since then with my children learning how important it is to work with other people for the sake of living together in peace. ACOP keep children away from unhealthy patterns and those dangerous idle times in after school hours when they may be prone to getting involved with street gangs and other violent activities. My 2 children participate in the American Children’s Orchestras for Peace (ACOP) and I am also a parent volunteer for their many events.

It is with gratitude that I write to you in the hope of impacting your decision to keeping this program open and making it available to all children who do not have the possibility of learning to play an instrument, discover a hidden talent or simply getting that “push” to explore and excel in music.

My daughter played the violin and my son plays the Cello now for over 5 years. When he first came to the program, we did not even know what a Cello was. Thanks to the good eyes and ears of the ACOP teachers, my son won a scholarship to study privately at the Miami Conservatory of Music. At present, he 2 scholarships and divides his time between 2 institutions; he is only 12 years old and we were blessed by having the opportunity of discovering his gift of music at an early age.

American Children’s Orchestra made all this possible for us and we are forever indebted to them. This program needs to grow and reach more children in under-privilege areas but they can not do it without the support of organizations and people like you. We need your help.
Gratefully,
Lorenza Ortiz

ACOP’s goal is to provide disadvantaged children with an alternative to poverty and violence through music. Developing musical skills offers students long-term career options as it improves the quality of their lives.

This year we have many children who have been left out of this wonderful music program as a result of lack of funding. We hope that in the future we can continue growing our partnership with ACOP and include more children in the program. ACOP is a great non-profit organization.

I am a parent who came from Peru. Let’s be real, where else but in America can you go and have poor children get lessons by skilled and educated instructors for free. Especially in neighborhoods where most of the time people struggle to keep their lights.

My name is Norma Calderon and my three children attend this music program since 2005 ACOP music instructors become caring and supportive mentors to my children and others who desperately need positive role models.
Children’s activities include free music lessons in one-on-one and small-group sessions, group rehearsals, full orchestra rehearsals, and public orchestra concerts in non-school hours.
Everyone who reads this should be digging in their pocket to give something to help them.
Thanks!

I love this Foundation due to the fact that ACOP’s public performances are wonderful means of boosting children’s self-confidence. Since all performances are group productions (80-child orchestras are not unusual), children also bond with one another. These performances and activities create bonds across cultural bridges and enhance ties in neighboring communities

I have known of the organization from its inception. I have seen it grow from a dream to a life changing reality for thousands of children, their families and the communities they live in.

There are many important reasons for supporting the American Children's Orchestras for Peace; violence prevention, improve cognitive abilities, create commmunity and so on, but the number one factor is the joy the participating children exhibit.

ACOP steps up to the challenge of providing an alternative to poverty and violence. The free music lessons and instruments as well as the bonding experience from the orchestras makes a real difference in the lives of the children. This is an outstanding organization and program.
