regrants: pennsylvania heart & soul communitiesthrough a partnership with the orton family foundation, phc is working with communities across the state to incorporate elements of the humanities into their planning processes. Participating communities use orton's community heart & soul framework to create a shared sense of belonging, improve local decision making, and ultimately strengthen social, cultural and economic vibrancy.
teen reading lounge (trl)an award-winning, interactive book club that uses the humanities as a tool for positive youth development. Through youth-focused book discussions and hands-on projects, teens build on their readings to impact their lives and communities. Since 2010, phc has provided grants, training and technical support to launch more than 80 teen reading lounge sites, reaching more than 1,000 teens across pennsylvania.
