Mission: We are the unified voice of the parkinson's community advocating for better treatments and a cure. In partnership with other parkinson's organizations and our powerful grassroots network, we educate the public and government leaders on better policies for research and an improved quality of life for people living with parkinson's.
Programs: Public education and government relations - informed the congress, national institutes of health, department of defense and other agencies of the need for the fastest possible cure and the ways in which the congress and federal agencies affect that goal. Worked through local and national media to bring to the public's attention the impact of parkinson's and the need for a speedy cure.
d. C. Public policy forum (education & advocacy event) - an annual update on science and research developments as well as a networking and advocacy training event for active members of parkinson's community.
udall event - the morris k. Udall awards dinner is held every year to honor individuals who have made life-long contributions to public policy and advancing federal efforts to cure parkinson's.
pan has several other programs as follows: advocacy, the milly fund, and general program. These programs assist to increase the awareness about various issues and challenges in regards to parkinson's disease.
