Mission: Opportunity4kids is organized to change the lives of economically disadvantaged children; to foster out-of-school time and extracurricular participation; to promote healthy and active lifestyles; to further mental and social development; and allow equal opportunities for children in need. To date, the children helped were all from families with income at, below or within 1. 5% of the federal poverty line standards. In 2016, scholarships were provided to 133 unique youth and opportunity4kids community programs impacted 1,006 arizona youth overall.
Programs: Opportunity4kids provides resources to arizona children in need to participate in out-of-school time activities, such as after school programs, summer camp and extracurriculars. This is accomplished through financial scholarships, equipment and uniforms - whatever the child needs to participate. In 2016, opportunity4kids granted scholarships to 133 unique youth and executed community programs that impacted 1,006 children overall.

My 4 African American children were denied scholarship because of our economic situation (they wanted proof that our family was denied DES childcare assistance). Which makes no sense since this is indeed a scholarship program for less fortunate.
I presented to the committee; 2 principal award and 2 honor roll certificate . In which they have been awarded this certificate there entire life. It has become so difficult for my children to receive scholarships in the state of Arizona. However, if I was on drugs or my children were awarded to the state this wouldn’t be a issue. I have and will be a advocate for my children.
