Creating an environment where critically and terminally ill kiddos (and their siblings) get to be superheroes for the day is such a beautiful experience to witness. I had the opportunity to volunteer with Driven Project last summer in Cincinnati, Ohio and it is hands down the favorite event I’ve ever been able to cover photography / videography wise. Just seeing the spark in these kids eyes made it so apparent on how important the Driven Project is.
In just that one day, I was able to build such a strong relationship with one of the kids and his parents that they actually invited me to the hospital for the ringing of the bell ceremony when he was officially cancer free later in the year.
Can’t say enough good things about the team and their hearts behind the mission. Can’t wait for this years’ event!

Ive been volunteering at Driven Project for over a month now and can't even begin to describe the impact this wonderful nonprofit charity has on the kids. As a volunteer, I helped with various activities, including a fun-filled scavenger hunt and other engaging games for the kids. The highlight, of course, was the supercar rides in collaboration with Barrett-Jackson. Seeing the children's adorable smiles and hearing their laughter as they zoomed around in these stunning cars was heartwarming. Parents shared that they hadn't seen their kids this happy in months, and it was such a joy to witness.
The event didn't stop at the supercar rides. Afterward, the kids enjoyed a variety of fun activities that kept their spirits high. The entire day was filled with smiles, laughter, and moments that everyone will cherish forever.

I've seen firsthand what terminal and life-threatening diseases can do to both children and their families. The anxiety, the pain; every waking moment is a reminder of what was, what shall be, and what never may come to be. The ability to bring even a momentary respite from this cycle - a chance to forget all the pain and just be a kid - should be applauded and praised. My experience the Driven Project has been amazing, I have witnessed the incredible effort the organization makes to provide hope and joy for critically ill children as well as their families. I've had the privilege of volunteering at several Driven Project events over the last few years and it is by far the most fulfilling experience I've ever had. The impact these events have on the kids and their families is undeniable, and you can see it in their faces as they continue to light up as the day goes on.
Talking with the families and hearing their stories, and all the struggles that they and their kids have gone through is so inspiring, and really helps put into perspective how important and impactful the work the Driven Project is for them. My role is typically in photography/videography, so I get to make my way through the event, focusing directly on capturing the joy and memories as they happen. It's a unique perspective being able to move around and visit with as many people as I can, observing all their happiest moments and being able to record and preserve those memories for them.
On the back end, working with Driven Project is a breeze. It's incredibly well organized, and everyone involved is so enthusiastic and helpful. The local police departments, volunteers, and venues all work together so well. It makes it much easier to enjoy the day and focus on what's important when everything behind the scenes is running smoothly.
It's always an honor to work with DP any time they come around. If you have the opportunity to donate your time, talents, equipment, facilities, or any other contribution to the Driven Project, I highly recommend doing so. It's an incredible family to be a part of.

This is the best event I’ve ever attended. It was incredibly organised with plenty of volunteers who did a great job so the event ran super smooth. It is so hard to truly express in words just exactly how incredible the Driven Project is. The concept in itself is truly amazing, but the way it is executed is beyond anything we could ever have imagined. The organisation behind each event is unbelievable with no stone left unturned.
We have been so incredibly lucky to be involved in Supercar Therapy events and a Super yacht therapy event, and I can honestly say that those events have been the best days of our kids lives.
Nate (and all the other Co-pilots) are always made to feel like they are the most important person in the world. It is the perfect escape from their daily realities, which at times can be painful, and hard and gives them the opportunity to step away from reality into a world of fast cars and amazing people.

Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to attend and volunteer at the Driven Project. The impact this organisation has had for critically ill children is undeniable, and something you'll read plenty about here. But, what you may not read about, is the impact it has on the family of those children - which is perhaps even greater.
As an original volunteer, I've had the pleasure of experiencing and participating in Driven Projects events for over five years now. It's easy to get caught up in the magic of any of a hundred moments at a given event. Our co-pilot VIPs are the shining stars of each outing, from the moment they see the first super cars roll in, to their enthusiastic waves at the end of the day.
However, if you look a little further, you'll see an even greater outpouring of emotion from the families behind them. To see their son, brother, or best friend forget their challenges and truly be a worry-free kid for a day is a rare occurrence. But, perhaps even rarer, is that person's chance to experience something special for themselves at the same time. Every child in these challenging situations is part of a family unit that's experiencing it together.
It's a sibling that's mom hasn't been home in three months because she's been at the Children's Hospital.
It's a parent that hasn't been able to prioritise themselves in as long as they can remember.
It's a best friend that has had to walk to school alone for a new school year.
For every VIP we provide an experience to, we aim to include their family and support group in any way we can. We arrive early and stay late to make sure everyone gets time in a supercar and share in making the memories. We check in on mom, dad, brother, and sister to make sure they're included each step of the way. And we take the time to have them share the spotlight whenever possible.
It's takes a village to raise a child, and an entire community to support one facing critical life challenges. It's a privilege to be able to share these individuals' stories for a day, and I'm thankful that these five years that have past is only the beginning.
