Causes: Microfinance, Small Business Development
Mission: Our mission is to stimulate job creation and sustainable economic development in the greater new york city area by providing pro-bono consulting services to local small business entrepreneurs from under-resourced communities.
Programs: In 2017 nypace provided pro bono consulting services to more than 15 entrepreneurs from underrepresented, under-resourced communities of new york city. We help entrepreneurs improve their businesses by assisting in 3 vital areas: 1. Market research, including analyzing size of market, identifying current and potential competitors, and uncovering blind spots; 2. Financial modeling, including addressing capital needs, cash flow projections, break-even analysis, and pricing strategy; 3. Marketing strategy, including developing the value proposition and sales pitch, and optimizing marketing channels. Over 80% of the entrepreneurs that we assisted are people of color. We engaged over 60 volunteer advisors in our program representing more than 12 of the leading professional firms of nyc, and conducted 3 information sessions and 2 advisor networking socials.
