Mission: To build and educate a new theater-going audience
Programs: Provided world premiere productions to the public at a reasonable cost, utilizing our show pass system which encourages the public to see theater as often as they like for the price of one ticket. In addition to the finished productions, we also involve our audience in the entire development process of each show to educate them to how theater is created, how the public can be involved and influence the art they want to support, and to be a part of creating these original productions. Approx 3000 individuals saw our 30 productions across 110 public performances.
our associate company member intensive program and our writers' room are the core of our education program for emerging artists. Over six months, our associate company members work directly alongside the new colony leadership team building skills for running a not-for-profit arts organization and developing a world premiere play through our development process. Each year we select 8-10 associates for the program, which they participate in at no cost to themselves. Writers' room sees 10-12 playwrights work together on their individual scripts over the course of the year. There are two sessions of each of the above programs.
