Mission: To build stronger neighborhoods, improve the quality of life for low to moderate income families and to revitalize communities into neighborhoods of choice.
Programs: Nhs continues its commitment to strengthen low to moderate income communities through the development of affordable and sustainable homeownership opportunities. In fiscal year 2017, nhs provided mortgage assistance counseling and financial literacy education to 2,630 households and assisted clients in avoiding foreclosure through home retention/disposition options. Over 5,218 clients were served. Nhs originated 217 affordable loans for families and provided total reinvestment in local neighborhoods of more than $1. 655 billion. Nhs hosted educational workshops and participated in 72 neighborhood-based events, through direct events contact, media, direct mailing and advertising. Nhs engaged over 1,400 volunteers.
