Shelter Partnership Inc is an incredible resource for our outreach to the poor and needy of our community. During the pandemic it was even more amazing how they were able to get the household items that stores were running out of because of hoarding. Placing our orders and picking it up continues to be extremely easy and organized. Thanks for your great service

Participant was a victim of a flooding caused by the fire department after responding to a fire in their building. MSW contacted participant to ask what was needed. Participant reported that he needed a new tv, bed sheets, and bedframe. Participant was told by the building management that they would not provide assistance because that would fall under renters insurance which participant does not have. Participant did not know what else to do. MSW spoke to supervisor and was able to obtain bedding and bed frame for full size bed. Participant reported that bedding and bed frame were delivered in a fast matter and many. Participant could not thank us enough for helping him because now he only had to worry about getting his tv repaired. Participant reported that he has been doing much better. Participant reported that his room has been taken care of and continued to thanked us for the resources we provided for him.
We have had the pleasure to be a client of Shelter Partnership, Inc for a couple of years. Without their generous support and donations our Family Resource Center at Wellnest would not be able to operate. Through the donations received, we are able to positively impact our community. They run a smooth operation and are very professional!
Thanks to the generosity of Shelter Partnership our clothing closet has greatly increased the items we offer our guests. Most note worth are the blankets, toilet paper and shoes. These are very basic things but hard to come by in the world of gently used donations. I wish I could share photos of the many many happy faces from our guests who walk away with shoes on their feet and a blanket to keep them warm at night. This is a professionally run organization which has done a lot to help people that need it the most. Thank you very much Shelter Partnership, Inc.

Shelter Partnership is a pivotal force in helping our clients attain much needed items. They donate a variety of items that help our clients in their every day life. Because of Shelter Partnership, our clients have received items like shoes, shits, socks and household essentials. Our clients have limited sources of income so a new pair of shoes does not come around very often. We're thankful for all they do!

Our clients are so grateful for Shelter partnership. Our clients are housed across LA, and we keep these donations at our main office for staff to pickup and deliver. This helps when engaging new clients, and supporting clients with much-needed clothing, hygiene items, and household goods which are expensive to purchase on a limited budget. One client mentioned that the shoes provided to him by his case manager (from Shelter partnership) was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for him. Thank you, Shelter Partnership for your wonderful service!

Covenant House California is grateful for another year of collaboration with Shelter Partnership. At CHC, we believe that no young person deserves to be homeless; that every young person in California deserves shelter, food, clothing, education… and most importantly, to be loved. And we believe that it is our responsibility, as a community, to ensure that young people are given the opportunities that they deserve to achieve their dreams. Shelter Partnership’s commitment to our mission through providing clothing, hygiene items and more to the young people we serve means that our dollars can be leveraged towards housing, mental and medical health care, and case management ensuring we are making a bigger impact on ending homelessness for the youth in California. We are able to serve more young people every year with the savings we get through the generosity of Shelter Partnership.

To Whom it may concern,
My name is Tracy Resendiz, I am 54, I am a homeless college student with Covid. Before Covid shut the County of Ventura down, I also owned a business with 50 employees. Now, now I am living, if that is what you could call it, out of my car.I feel through all the cracks of the so-called funding that was out there for Covid, I did not receive any funding from our government, I am a taxpayer. I am mad, I am beyond frustrated, I do not have money, I am sick. I am also tired, very tired of asking for help. I am tired of being told to call 211 that they have help for the homeless. I am tired of being classified as homeless. I was quarantined for 10 days (about 1 and a half weeks) and the public health department had paid for that. After the ten days I was told to leave I was better. How am I better when the test results still come back positive? How am I better when I am still running fever, tell me? How am I better when I am still coughing up blood? I am not better! I cannot find the words to explain how I feel. Disappointed does not begin to describe how I feel. I am beside myself. I have called everyone in the county of Ventura to just be put aside and not herd. I have called everyone from COC to the homeless network to 211. There is no help there. I jumped threw the hoops for The Whole person care organization. I did everything I was told to do, they promised there were motel vouchers that would house me until the beginning of January. Joe Ann Hernandez, lied. I asked for help from Joe Eckles, from the turning point foundation, he had promised to help with 3 months of rent. After a month's tie .He lied I was put out when he only paid one month. He said it was due to me not turning in paperwork. Once again, he lied. I turned in all the paperwork. I applied for housing is key funding no help as of, yet I was put out of the house. Where is all the funding? I want to know where my tax dollars are going. I want to know what state officials are are doing to help the citizens of Ventura County. I want a place to call home again. I deserve that I have worked and paid taxes. Now I am sick, broke and still trying to overcome homelessness and covid. Someone needs to listen to me. I need help! I do not want another phone number. I do not want another empty promise. I am someone's mother, I am someone's daughter, I am a grandmother. I am out here in the streets alone without gas, without a home, without clean cloths, I am sick and tired. I work! Dam it! But I can't right now because I am still sic. Do you want to know what I was told by someone at 211 I was told it was probably better I had a car to stay in so I would not infect anyone. What about when I need to use the restroom? Is anyone listening? God forbid if one day you should have to go through what I have been going through. It is a dam shame that this letter should even need to be written. I need help. I need someone to HELP me.
MY UNEMPLOYMENT RAN OUT, I NEED SOME FUNDING TO PAY FOR THE MOTEL I AM IN UNTIL JANUARY 2022. SO, I CAN GET BACK ON MY FEET AND I WONT NEED ANYONE OR ANYMORE HELP. THE WEEKLY RENT HERE IS 450.00 A WEEK. WHAT ARE ALL THESE EHG AND SNAPS VOUCHERS FOR WHO IS USING THEM? OR IS THE COUNTY OF VENTURA STILL SITTING ON ALL OF THE FUNDING WE NEED?
I do not want an email back with another phone number from an office that could care less about the homeless people here in Ventura County. I do not want an email back with empty promises. I do not want an email back with an appointment that is going to end up nowhere. I want help. I need help by next Thursday or I will be staying in my car again with Covid.

CHPLA is a small non-profit that serves nearly 10,000 people experiencing homelessness a year. Our funds are specific to the services we deliver and do not allow for purchases of the much needed items that Shelter Partnerships provides. Shelter Partnership has had a positive impact on many people's lives. For over 20 years, I've been a social services provider who has had the pleasure of helping people in need. I am employed at a non-profit housing developer what provides supportive services to the low-income and formerly homeless families with children who reside at the apartments. When families have lived in crisis and don't have the financial resources, they are basically able to move into housing but that's all. Families are so grateful when they receive items that help them to settle into their new homes. Items such as mattresses, pillow cases, new clothes, dental floss, diapers for the babies are very important to have. It has been my pleasure to facilitate the distribution of Shelter Partnership items. These donations serve as engagement tools to develop relationships with residents. The donations serves as a means to let families know that help is available. And, the donations help put smiles on children's faces when they receive a new toy. Forever grateful for your services.

We operate several Homeless Shelters and our needs are always very demanding, but we are grateful for Shelter Partnership and the availability and accessibility that we have through them. Hello my name is Kookie Williams, Director of LATTC Veterans Resource Center. Our center works with Veterans and their families that are attending college. Our Vets live off of money they receive for attending school and holidays are rough. Shelter Partners have provided toys to our center for the past 6 years. Last year was great. Our Vet club bought Tablets for 15 of our older children and the toys we received from Shelter Partners we were able to provide to items to each Vets child. With the toys I asked the campus employees to purchase shoes for the younger children. We were able to give out toys, shoes and some outfits to 63 children under age of 10. Every quarter, Catholic Charities - Glendale Loaves & Fishes receives different valuable items as donations that are distributed among our clients. The donations makes a world of difference to the families and homeless individuals that we serve.
I would like to share a small memory that helped and touched the hearts of our clients. While donating a new pair of shoes (sneakers) to our homeless client, the client smiled and wept then said that he hasn’t worn a new pair of shoes in the last five years. Every toy, clothing item and shoes that we gave out to children, families and homeless clients, not only fulfilled their needs but added joy and happiness to their lives. This would not have been possible without the generosity and act of kindness of Shelter Partnership Inc.
Thank you so much!
Regards,
Sayed Hamidi
P.S. Attached is the photo of our client, wearing the new sneakers.
The Salvation Army Westwood has been going to Shelter Partnership for years. They have always greeted us warmly, had our orders ready to go and have even helped us load our van. The items provided are very helpful to our homeless families and give us an opportunity to provide more for them in household goods, toiletries, clothing, shoes and other items. We love Shelter Partnership and all they do to help those in need.
Shelter Partnership donations help us incentivise our programs, and provide basic needs to the homeless and unstably housed. Their system is clear and starighforward and allows for easy ordering. They help us relieve the burden of requesting donations from companies. As a healthcare non profit we prescribe a wide range of solutions to our clients, from exercise, nutrition, and other healthy living suggestions. Shelter Partnership has provided bed so people can get better sleep, kitchen utensils for cooking, yoga mats we can provide for exercise activities and more.

Shelter Partnerships donation have aided many of our programs and services for many years. Working in healthcare in Los Angeles communities means treating not only a persons ailments. Being able to offer hygeine items, clothes, children's toys, and so much more goes a long way with our clients. It is great to offer a child waiting with his/her parent a small toy. Or to have clothes on hand to offer someone in need. Shelter Partnership has truly been a partner and we look forward to continuing to work with them.
My experience at this nonprofit has been Great! They have given me a lot of things that i am very grateful for. I am currently expecting my third child. They have provided me with a pak and play (baby bed), a baby bouncer, a play pin, diapers and many other baby items. As well as clothes for me and my other two children. So this program has been awesome.
The donations that Shelter Partnership provides, such as shoes, socks and hygiene products, provides much needed living essentials to those most in need-the homeless. But it also provides them with something that has no monetary value.. a second chance. Thank you Shelter Partnership for caring, for believing, for being part of the Antelope Valley family. Without your help, our AV Connect days would not be possible; and for that we are extremely grateful.
On behalf of the Volunteer League of the SFV, we would like to thank Shelter Partnership for their wonderful donations. The items we received were perfect for the children that we serve who desperately need clothing to attend school confidently and without shame. Most of our clients our low income, homeless and students from Title 1 schools . We are a non profit organization that depend on donations and supporters like you, thank you for you service to the community.
On behalf of Restoration Community Development Corporation, I would like to thank Shelter Partnership for its generous donations! Your support provides needed items to people experiencing homelessness in South Los Angeles. Your contribution helps provide essential resources to the people experiencing homelessness. As you can image, there are many expenses associated with providing essential and supportive services to approximately 120 people every Wednesday, Your contribution is not just a charitable donation, but is also a godsend that helps us sustain our weekly outreach program. Without people like you, we would not be able to reach our goals.
Thank you once again for your support!!
Alexandria House, a transitional housing program for women and children, has been blessed with support from Shelter Partnership for many years. The donations and support we receive from them makes our work possible. From the ordinary donations of paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner which allows us to maintain our day-to-day operations. To the extraordinary gifts of brand-new clothes, baby toys and accessories, high-chairs and strollers that we get to give to our community to make their lives just a bit brighter and better.
Shelter Partners has worked with our organization for many years. The donations they collect and share with us are so helpful to our clients. By sharing these donations, our clients are able to continue to be supported and move forward providing for their families in a positive way. We feel very blessed to be a partnering with them and appreciate this organization so much.
St. Camlilus Spiritual Care Center in collaboration with Angel Interfaith Network and the Spiritual Care Department at LAC USC Medical Center(working with Social Workers, Volunteers Services, CARES and RN) we have been blessed with the Shelter Partnership. The cloths, primarily, are given to homeless whom we see on a daily basis who have such basic needs. Chaplains are often the person patients trust in a culture that they often live in distrust and fear. Embarrassed mothers whose medical needs are front and center but their daily needs are with cloths, food and shelter. Our joint effort changes peoples lives and given them peace of mind, heart, body and family. Thank you Shelter Partnership. Fr Chris Ponnet, Pastor St Camillus/AIN/ LAC USC chaplain

On behalf of CHIRP/LA, we would like to thank Shelter Partnership Program, for their gracious donation. The items that were donated were extremely useful for our homeless clients and for those who are in the process of moving into permanent housing. Shelter Partnership is one of our most important strategic non-profit partners! Each quarter we receive beautiful donations of new clothing and other essentials for our clients -- from infant needs to men's and women's clothing and shoes. Our clients, children from the foster care system in the greater Los Angeles area, put these items to immediate use. Shelter Partnership has helped us raise the bar for the service that we provide and we can't recommend them highly enough!

The Shelter Partnership has been a terrific community partner, and has provided us with vital donations of new clothing, shoes, hygiene products, books and toys. We are thrilled to receive donations on a quarterly basis, and as a result, we have been able to provide our clients with a wide array of items from which to choose. Our clients are in the local foster care system, and are often sent to foster care with only the clothes on their backs. The Shelter Partnership has made a big difference in the lives of the children that we serve!

I work in a school with a high homeless population. Shelter Partnership provides so many resources to my school that it makes coming to school an easier experience for my students. Being able to provide a small item like soap to clothing to my students makes the biggest difference. This is all possible thanks to the work Shelter Partnership does. Plus, their staff is great to work with and support you through the entire process.
Shelter partnership Inc has been supporting our organization for over 5 years. The staff is amazing, Caring and respectful. The women in our facilities are grateful for the donations we receive. We are a nonprofit organization that depend on donations and supporters like you. We have been working with Shelter Partnership for quite some time now and I have seen so much joy come from the recipients of the items we receive. We serve homeless, and those living with mental illness and addiction struggles. Rhonda Villanueva has been instrumental in the process! There are so many families out there that have never had this kind of support and the quality of clothing in their lives. We love everything about Shelter Partnership and we always look forward to sharing the many joys they bring our community and the ones that have struggled for so long.

On behalf of Hope in a Suitcase, I want to take a minute (though you deserve more than that) to THANK YOU and SHELTER PARTNERSHIP for the items you sent Hope in a Suitcase & The Emporium's way in late July!
From our new headquarters at The Emporium: Foster Resource & Literacy Center, Hope in a Suitcase and our Emporium Partners provide new clothing and essentials to Los Angeles children during their most vulnerable times: As they are first entering foster care; when the suddenly move from home to home; and when as they age out of the system. Many of the children we serve have little but the clothing on their backs or a few items which they carry in a plastic garbage bag.
We serve 3,500+ foster youth eacy year, and we simply could NOT function without the amazing support of Shelter Partnership, and the shoes, clothing, bags and other items they provide. They efficient and sensitive to our needs and, more importantly, the needs of the youth we serve, who are struggling to fit in to new communities and new school situations.
Rhonda Villanueva (our primany contact point) clearly understands and cares about the population we serve and their needs - both tangible and emotional, and also just makes it possible for our lean organization to function by making sure we get what we request, when we need it - never too much or too little for the children we are anticipating.
Recently, our volunteer led non-profit was forced to move. We are really up and running full swing now, thanks in large part to Shelter Partnership's help in "stocking the shop", where children in foster care are invited to come choose for themselves the clothing and literacy material they want and need, entirely free of charge. The clothing, shoes, socks hats and hygiene bags you sent have been a big hit.
This past Sunday alone, Hope in a Suitcase served 129 foster children, and they were so overjoyed to be able to choose from great items and start the new school year off with confidence.
I know the older TAY (transition aged youth") Emporium shoppers are loving the "wear to work" items and dresses as well. Having the right items to wear to an interview or a new job can help make the difference between getting on their feet, or living in a car for some of these youth.
A couple memories from a recent event: A seven year old girl who walked in feeling very nervous, and an hour later was dancing around in a pair of sparkly vans shoes. A middle school aged boy who wanted to play sports at his new school, and was over the moon when he found a pair of Nikes that would make him "jump higher"
One thank you note from a 15 year old girl I've transcribed below:
"I would like to thank you first off for one the experience. For all the kids out here with nothing, you help show that there are brighter days. I am so grateful that words are not enough to explain. My auntie has tried time & time again to find me clothes and shoes I'll like, or more importantly fit. & today I was able to walk out of here with everything I needed & more. The volunteers are very kind & patient. They made me feel at ease. Honestly, that's all one can really hope for and you at Hope in a Suitcase & Shelter Partnership made that possible for me today! I hope this letter of thanks was able to show at least a sliver of my gratitude! Thank you, Andrea"
THANK YOU!!!! WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR RHONDA, SHELTER PARTERSHIP, AND THE WONDERFUL COMPANIES THAT DONATE ITEMS !
Ever since Shelter Partnership has come alongside our non-profit to help families, the whole atmosphere has changed. We are able to help so many families and no longer have to turn them away. The order and pick up process is smooth and easy. Families are blessed with basic needs items and even some things to enjoy. We are so grateful for Shelter Partnership Inc.
Shelter Partnership's ability to provide a large variety of items for our clients goes a long way in offering relief for our families that they may have difficulty purchasing. The process of asking for materials is very simple and the window to pick up items allows for you to not feel rushed or that you need to rearrange your schedule to pick up the items once ready. There team of professionals at the warehouse are very friendly and are on top of making sure you are in and out as quick as possible. Thank you for everything!
Shelter partnership has provided my organization the wherewithal to positively impact literally thousands of lives. Clothing, personal hygiene, children’s items all go out in concentric circles creating comfort, a sense of safety and well-being to community members most in need,
I worked with Ruth Schwartz and Shelter Partnership for over 11 years while I was the Executive Director/CEO of Harbor Interfaith Services which provides services to homeless and low-income families and individuals. We found Ruth’s and Shelter Partnership’s guidance, friendship, and services invaluable. Definitely the highest recommendation!!
Shelter Partnership has donated thousands of dollars of goods to Independent Living Center of Southern CA. We appreciate their commitment to the community at large. It is because of Shelter Partnership that we are able to continuously provide a variety of donations to our clients. Thank you for all you do!
I am connected to some of the supervisors at Shelter Partnership, and while I was in high school they assisted me with my required service hours. My experience thus far has been wonderful! The other volunteers are helpful and kind, and the management team is always welcoming. I also appreciate Shelter Partnership's objective: to help the homeless with unused products from companies around Los Angeles. While working at their warehouse, I am constantly reminded of the importance of the duties I do, and it makes the volunteering experience even more fulfilling. If you are interested in Shelter Partnership, I highly recommend volunteering for them! It is probably the best nonprofit organization I know to this day.
Shelter Partnership has been consistently donating over $30,000 worth of new goods to the agency I work for, Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services, for over 10 years. We provide programs and services to at-risk youth and families, including children in the foster care and the probation systems, and their donations help us reduce our bottom line by providing items our clients need. Additionally, everything they donate is popular with our clients and greatly appreciated by them. We are so grateful for Shelter Partnership's generous support!

Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services is a non-profit organization in Los Angeles dedicated to helping at-risk youth and their families. Shelter Partnership has been an incredible community partner to us for several years and we always look forward to their donations. We've received anything from basic household supplies, to personal hygiene products, to furniture, to clothing, to gifts for our foster youth, to blankets, and the list goes on and on. They've even responded to a few special requests we've had for families who were recently homeless and needed basic essentials in their new home (mattresses, sheets, etc). We nominated them for an AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) award a couple years ago and they were the deserving winner. They are a truly remarkable organization and we're so grateful for their support.

For over 10 years Shelter Partnership has been an amazing partnership for our organization. Through their generous donations, our organization has been able to serve thousands of homeless youth and families. Providing them with clothing, hygiene products, and basic essentials to survive that otherwise, they would be without. Thousands of babies have been able to receive diapers due to the donations from Shelter Partnership, allowing their parents to be able to pay rent or purchase food that month and not having to make the tough choice between the two.
they help use 4 times a year with donations that we hand out to the public in Whittier. the faces of the people when we hand them toys or clothes for their kids is priceless.
Shelter partnerships are the best. Without their generous help the participants at out shelter with go without many valuable items such as but not limited to clothing, shoes, hygiene products and much more. We can not thank Shelter partnerships enough for everything that they provide our participants and are very blessed to have such and amazing organization providing us with these great resources.
The impact that Shelter Partnership Inc. has across Los Angeles County is immense, reaching more people than you could ever imagine. Their resource bank and warehouse provides items that our neighbors experiencing homelessness might need to help them survive, stabilize and thrive. They do this on a massive scale with their partnerships with local nonprofits directly serving individuals and families - making it easier for other nonprofit organizations to serve their clients. Aside from the resource bank, Shelter Partnership's staff are experts who dedicate themselves to state and local policy and alignment. We're all so lucky to have Shelter Partnership in LA County!
Diapers are a huge need in our community, but due to their high cost, we always struggle to get enough donated. Shelter Partnership has been a tremendous blessing by providing us with an assorted variety of diapers quarterly - along with many other donations we need - to continue providing for the thousands of individuals and families served by our organization on a yearly basis. We are truly grateful for Shelter Partnership's support over the years!

Shelter Partnership Inc. has been there for our agency for many years, providing much needed supplies to our most vulnerable clients. We would have no other way to obtain such essential necessities imperative to their well-being. They are always courteous, professional, and reliable. We are very thankful for their hard work and dedication to our community. The ordering process is easy and the program manager has been outstanding in her role.
Aviva Family and Children's Services has been benefiting from Shelter Partnership's important work for over 20 years. Most of our families are experiencing significant challenges and not having the basics only adds to their stress. The clothing, hygiene, baby items, and household items Shelter Partnership provides for our families eases their burdens.
Shelterparentership has also helped us to bring holiday smiles to hundreds of children Aviva services by offering toys. Every child wants the excitement of opening a present and Shelter Partnership makes that happen too.
We would be lost without Shelter Partnership's valuable resources!

Also at the holidays their gifts always bring a smile to the hundreds of children we serve. Without their commitment to the community, many children and families would be suffering even more. Shelter Partnership is important and deserves all the support it gets.
Shelter Partnership has been an immense blessing for the East San Gabriel Valley Coalition for the Homeless. Items received include: hygiene items, clothing, shoes, toys for children, diapers, baby items, and much more. Thank you Shelter Partnership Inc.

The Shelter Partnership donates an amazing amount of items to us every year. This includes toys, clothes, shoes, cleaning supplies, paper goods, laundry soap, etc. We have even received cribs, bassinets and other much needed baby supplies. We provide supportive services and housing for victims of domestic violence and these donations save us thousands of dollars.
The Partnership is fantastic!!!
They are an amazing help to our organization and help us cater the needs of all of our clients with quality items!
Shelter Partnership is a phenomenal organization that partners with organizations that assist the homeless in the greater Los Angeles area. It plays a unique "middle man" role, collecting donations of needed materials, such as diapers and mattresses, from donors, and then providing them directly to shelters. This is a much needed service that is done in an efficient and effective manner.
This non-profit not only serves a critical needs for goods procurement and distribution for homeless shelters and permenant housing projects all across Los Angeles but also extensively studies and advocates for housing policies that make sense for cities. Shelter Partnership is an amazing concept and run by an incredible Board and CEO.
Glendale Community Center of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles is a beneficiary of Shelter Partnership Inc. Shelter Partnership helps us offer new items to our clients. We receive new cloths, toys, hygiene kits, shoes and many other needed items that help us serve our clients better. Thank you and God bless Shelter Partnership Inc !
I first learned about Shelter Partnership, as my company handled their commercial insurance needs. Since then, I have sent time volunteering at their warehouse, helping collect supplies at various mixers and networking events, and most recently became Vice Chair of their Associate Board for young professionals. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the organization is a premier leader in the homelessness sector. I am very happy to be a contributor to and friend of The Shelter Partnership.
this non profit plays an integral role in homeless services and housing in los angeles county. they could do better by being better known!
Shelter partnership helps non-profits by getting essential items to the people that need it most. I look forward to partnering with them to help our seniors
They are the best all-around in dealing with the immediate needs of the homeless as well as the policy that impacts this population. They do it from all fronts with a small staff.
Shelter Partnership is working at the ground level to actually solve the homeless problem of Los Angeles. I consider my time very valuable, and I have never regretted a single minute spent in the service of Shelter Partnership (and I have spent many hours volunteering for their cause). The Mark Taper Foundation Resource Bank is an amazing operation, that helps thousands of homeless people every year. I have volunteered multiple times to help sort some of the $9 million in new goods they received last year. I will continue to participate with Shelter Partnership as long as I live in LA, and will continue to donate long after I've moved away, because I know for a fact that it is money well used.
Our firm identified Shelter Partnership as a volunteer opportunity for the office. From a volunteer standpoint - it was incredibly easy and efficient. We showed up and signed in - and got to work pretty quickly. Everyone was friendly and professional. They even gave a tour of the facility - which was pretty cool to see the size and scale of their donations.
My son and I went out to the warehouse to volunteer at Shelter Partners last weekend and had a great experience. Everyone was very nice and the atmosphere was relaxed. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the task. One of the leaders gave a warehouse tour which was both informative and interesting! I have never been in such a huge warehouse and found it very heartwarming that there is a company doing what Shelter Partners does. It is a very rare agency and we will continue to come out and lend a hand whenever we can! Knowing that this directly helps so many people is very rewarding!
Shelter Partnership helps Children of the Night with supplies, clothing and necessities required to provide a home for America's children victimized by prostitution right here in America. Because of Shelter Partnership we are able to fund the most critical and challenging fundraising area of all - trained child care staff. In fact, in 2015 we spent 90% of our donations on the care and supervision of children. Thank you Shelter Partnership for providing the basics required to operate a home.

What a great idea Shelter Partnership. We used to spend contributions on storage of donated items and the sorting of these items - We would distribute goods we didn't need to other organizations but the cost in time and storage was a burden.
Now with Shelter Partnership - they take the hard labor of sorting, cataloging and distributing off the backs of agencies that need to spend their time on their mission.
There job is not easy but it is sincerely appreciated by Children of the Night who depends on inkind contributions in an organized cost effective means of collection.
Hurray for Shelter Partnership, Inc.
I have donated to many charities over the course of my life, but Shelter Partnership is the first I ever felt compelled to get involved with deeper. Shelter Partnership is a charity in which you can actually see how donations are being used and distributed. The Mark Taper Resource Center is an actual location at which you can volunteer, to see your generous donations put to use. The relationships that Shelter Partnership fosters are of the highest caliber, and all further their cause of ending homelessness in LA. One of the most enlightening tours I've even been on was the walk-through of Skid Row, in which you can see first hand the needs of the homeless community, and in what ways the initiatives of Shelter Partnership serves those needs. Shelter Partnership's relationship with Officer Deon Joseph makes this tour possible. This really demonstrates that Shelter Partnership is working at the ground level to solve this problem. I will continue to participate with Shelter Partnership as long as I live in LA, and even after moving, I will continue to donate, because I know for a fact that it is money well used.
PATH's 15-family interim housing facility in Mid-City is extremely thankful for Shelter Partnership's donations. Our case managers accept a wide variety of donations year-round, including diapers, toys, laundry detergent, tissue paper, and bleach - all of which save PATH hundreds each quarter in operational costs.
On behalf of PATH and the homeless families we serve, we thank Shelter Partnership for their ongoing support! It's with community partners like you that we can truly make a difference.
Shelter Partnership is a smart and strategic organization. It gets all kinds of goods to nonprofits in need. Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services relies on it for its homeless clients in outpatient and residential care. Thanks to Shelter Partnership, we get help with everything from bleach to clean our residences to toys for our littlest clients at Christmas to everyday and interview clothes. The Shelter staff is wonderfully organized and makes sure recipients of its items know when and how to order them. Didi Hirsch appreciates all they do for our agency and our clients.
I am the Program Director for Ella's Foundation, a Los Angeles based non profit that provides housing for homeless adult males. We have been recipients of Shelter Partnership since June 2015. Since becoming recipients, we have received an abundance of items including clothing, hygiene and other basic need items that allow us to provide a greater service to the population we serve. We are grateful for this organization and even more appreciative of their service to help those committed to helping others.
I love the work they do. I cannot sum into man made words the angelic role this organization plays in the lives of the homeless population we serve! I am so happy to be able to express the appreciation I have for them!!!
Our small, grassroots 100% volunteer non-profit, Hope in a Suitcase, which provides suitcases, duffelbags, essentials and comfort items to Los Angeles youth entering foster care, recently became a recipient organization of Shelter Partnership, and we cannot say enough positive things. Shelter Partnership's support astronomically increases the amount of good we can do for our community! Shelter Partnership lifts a huge burden in terms of fundraising and outreach to companies with merchandise to donate by consolidating it in one spot. Hope in a Suitcase can now spend more energy doing what we love to do, which is distributing special gifts of love and comfort to children who have recently been separated from their families (often with only the clothes on their backs and/or carrying their few personal belongings in garbage bags), to make their transition into foster care a little easier and more dignified. We will be able to serve many times more children with Shelter Partnership's support.
Shelter Partnership is an amazing operation. They have stringent requirements about which agencies they provide items to, and clear restrictions about what can be done with the items received, which ensures that the items provided will be put to good use for the benefit of the populations Shelter Partnership and their donors strive to help. Working with Shelter Partnership is a joy! Their systems are very efficient and streamlined - Even our first time working working with them, everything from choosing items, to scheduling picking and loading it onto our truck was a very clear and smooth process. Rhonda Villanueva was so responsive and helpful with our questions, and managed to find all of the items on our wishlist. Considering we hadn't seen the items prior to pick-up, we were delighted that all of them turned out to be quality items which were perfect for our needs that will make the children we serve feel valued and comfortable during an extremely vulnerable time! Pick-up arrangements were simple - we had allocated an hour of time to get in and out, and it ended up taking 15-20 minutes because everything was ready to go the minute they said it would be. Jerry at the loading dock was very patient with us in explaining what to do, clearly loves the important work he does, and enjoys assisting others who strive to help those in need.
Shelter Partnership is a game changer! Hope in a Suitcase can accomplish so much more, and provide so many more children between homes with essentials and comfort due to Shelter Partnership's wonderful support. Thank you, Shelter Partnership, for serving our most vulnerable populations and for making the world a better place!
The Shelter Partnership is an important supporter of our program. We work closely with Children and Families that are trying to heal following difficult challenges. The staff are very helpful and are a joy to work with. We benefit greatly from the numerous items that they make available to us for use by those in receipt of our support services. A special thanks to our contact, Rhonda who is so organized and helpful to us as we navigate this donor process. I would higher recommend Rhonda and her team to anyone attempting to obtain items that can assist our community members to rebuild their surroundings.

My organization, the Toy Loan Program, is a free service which allows children to borrow toys in the same manner in which they borrow toys from a public library. A child will receive an Honor Award, which is a new toy, by taking care of the toys the borrow and bringing them back on time. We have the children follow an Honor Code which includes Honesty, Responsibility, and Patience.
Shelter Partnership provided toys, books, and other items for our program. This was a tremendous contribution that will help in providing to the 30,000+ children we serve annually. Thank you Shelter Partnership!
Shelter Partnership Inc. has been a fantastic partner to Hollywood Community Housing Corporation (HCHC) for over 15 years and critical to our success.
Thank you for all you do!
Shelter Partnership can take pride knowing that your contribution to Children’s Bureau of Southern California is an investment to our community. When you provide to our families clothes, shoes, toys, blankets etc. you become a vital part of changing people’s life and when you invest in our community you become a part of the solution.
Sometimes people take undergarments for granted but until you don't have any or they're uncomfortable is when you find angels like Shelter Partnership.Through this survey we want you to know how much you've helped our families and there is no way to fully express our gratitude for your loyalty. We at Children’s Bureau of Southern California are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors like Shelter Partnership.
Shelter Partnership lives up to its name and is a true partner for nonprofit organizations. We rely on them to help us clothe our children and provide other essentials that help make their stay with us more agreeable.
Shelter Partnership is an awesome organization! With their help, we are able to reach out to more people in need in our very own neighborhood. Together we help provide essential items to the least fortunate. As a team, we give to those who are in need and that is the beauty of it all. We appreciate the help they extend to us and we are very grateful for all they continue to do to help the least fortunate and low-income families in our community.

Through the help we receive from Shelter Partnership we are able to provide the Homeless with essentials such as toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, clean clothes and blankets. We also help low income families through our food assistance program. We help these families also and mainly during the holiday season. Because of Shelter Partnership, we are able to gift each child with books and toys. The community familes also receive clorox wipes, detergent, softener etc. We are truly blessed to be able to work alongside such a beautiful organization which its sole purpose is the same as ours, and that is to help others. Shelter Partnership is of such a great help and we give thanks to God for this very special organization.
I work for a nonprofit in Los Angeles that has benefited from Shelter Partnership for at least 10 years. Each quarter we receive hoards of quality items for the at-risk youth and families in our care and we are so grateful for the service Shelter Partnership provides. There is such a huge need in Los Angeles for this type of agency and they are doing more than their fair share of helping disadvantaged populations.

We can always count on Shelter Partnership to provide a plethora of high quality items for our clients and they are so grateful for everything they receive, especially during the holidays. We've even called Shelter Partnership a few times when we have a particular family in need and they're quick to look through their warehouse to see if they can help in any way. The organization is amazing and we are incredibly grateful for the help we receive. In addition, they are very organized and make it easy to order and pick-up items from their warehouse. I can't say enough great things about Shelter Partnership.
Shelter Partnership has absolutely gone out of their way for our organization. This organization has contributed greatly to the success of The Beacon House. Often, men enter our program with absolutely nothing. Addiction is very devastating, and these men enter our program in need of items that Shelter Partnership so freely provides. For most, a new pair a pants is a first. Others receive basic necessities that were once a luxury that they could not afford. What makes Shelter Partnership particularly unique is their platform for access. The online portal is awesome! They really go out of their way to help us.
Shelter Partnership Inc., has been a wonderful partner for our organization. They have provided us with many resources that have assisted our families with resources they need in order to have a better life. We provide services in the community to families who are on extreme poverty, the assistance they received from clothing, shoes, back packs, hygiene items help our families stay financially afloat. The money they save on these items help them put food on their table for their children, or perhaps pay for that month's rent. Shelter Partnership, Inc., is an integral part of our success in providing services to the families who live in communities where poverty is spread.
Thank you to Shelter Partnership for working tireless to ensure resources are available to our community.
St. Margaret's Center has received donations from Shelter Partnership for over 15 years. We don't know what we would do without them.
We have received blankets which we distribute to our homeless. We can't offer them shelter but we can keep them warm at night.
Then there are the hygiene products. We are actually able to make up hygiene kits to distribute. We have homeless that have job interviews and need to clean up and look presentable. How wonderful it is to say"Here, go shave, wash your face, take this nice shirt and clean pair of jeans and look presentable at your interview" All these items are from Shelter Partnership.
Then we have the homeless looking for housing and they get the same treatment to get ready to go see a landlord.
Just recently, we placed our last order for the year and we look forward to the gifts we will be getting from Shelter Partnership to give to our families for Christmas. We will be hosting a Christmas program for 450 of the 1,000 families we assist with food each month.
Some of these families have never had "new" gifts to give to their children. Wow !!! just wait till they see what SP has provided for them !!!
I could go on and on about other items like cleaning products, shoes and many more.
We have had homeless persons walk into our office barefooted. What a blessing to be able to give them a pair of "Vans" and clean socks, all from Shelter Partnership.
Casa Youth Shelter is so grateful for the generosity of Shelter Partnership. Thanks to you, we have been able to share resources with the residents and their families...all resources that we would not have been able to provide otherwise. Thank you!

The assorted girls’ clothing available for the Back-to-School months has been particularly helpful. Hollywood Community Housing Corporation (HCHC) is grateful to Shelter Partnership for the reliable source of hygiene products, cleaning supplies, toys and clothing that are critical components of HCHC residents' housing stability. During the holidays, Shelter Partnership donations bring joy and hope to families who otherwise would go without gifts/presents to exchange. Shelter Partnership also goes above and beyond in connecting unique donations to agencies such as children's furniture for an HCHC family who moved into a unit with no furniture after months of homelessness. Recently, donations from Shelter Partnership helped fill up backpacks for HCHC school age children just in time for the new school year. HCHC thanks Shelter Partnership and looks forward to many more years of working and collaborating together.

These children come to Maryvale with little to no belongs. Last year at Christmas, we were in desperate need of children pajama's, we asked Shelter Partnership if they could help us.
Within weeks they notified us that we could pick up some boxes. Inside those boxes were 80 pair of brand new beautiful pajama's for the children. Prior to retirement I worked for Los Angeles County Chief Executive Office. Homeless programs were a significant part of my responsibilities. We developed and piloted programs serving the homeless. Shelter Partnership partnered in a number of these initiatives. We could always rely on the support of SP. A very successful example of a collaborative partnership was Supervisor Yaroslavsky's Project 50, which housed some of the most seriously chronic homeless individuals living on Skid Row. Engaging these individuals and housing them is a momentus task. Moving off the streets into housing requires all the household things needed to make an apartment a home. SP stepped up every time to provide those necessary household items. People were so excited to receive all sorts of things they would not be able to afford to purchase themselves. SP plays a critical role in assisting homeless to change their lives forever.

Shelter Partnership is an excellent organization. I have worked as an on-site case manager for several ACOF supportive housing buildings throughout the San Fernando Valley and parts of LA and I must honestly say that the donations my buildings have received from Shelter Partnership have been such a blessing to not only my families but to the program as a whole. Alot of the times I am asked to hold life skills groups at my properties with no budget, that is when I am so grateful for Shelter Partnership. At Christmas time, Shelter Partnership has made it possible for my properties to host events for the families and have clothes, shoes, and even toys to give out to the families for the Holiday events. In addition, I know how grateful my families are when they are in need of diapers for their little ones or tissue during cold&flu season and thanks to Shelter Partnership, as a case manager, I am able to provide these items to my families that I otherwise wouldn't be able to.

Filipino American Service Group, Inc. (Park View House) Applauds the effort of Shelter Partnership staff. We experience great results through the support each month from the generous donations. There is power in knowing there are organizations that focus on serving others less fortunate.

Director, Transitional Programs
Shelter Partnership has been a major supporter of our programs and services for years to assist homeless and very low-income individuals in the Skid Row area. Their contributions of goods and services far exceeds anything we would have wished for. To have such a partner makes our challenge to address homelessness so much more hopeful in the work we do each day. Thank you for ALL of your assistance over the years.
Our clients really benefit from the donations we receive from Shelter Partnership! The staff are friendly and very helpful! We appreciate their continued partnership and helping us to fight homelessness! Keep up the great dedication and hard work!!
Shelter Partnership is amazing. It provides much needed supplies to organizations such as the shelter i work for. Some of the items they provide are far out of our financial reach. They really help us out and our client love receiving awesome items.
The Center for the Pacific Asian Family is a non profit organization serving Asian Pacific Islanders (API) who are survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault in the LA county area. Our survivors have a very high need for personal effects, supplies, clothing, household goods, etc. Our survivors are considered homeless, as they have been forced to flee out of concern for their safety, and sometimes their children's safety.
Our survivors sometimes come to us with nothing except the clothes on their backs. With the help of Shelter Partnership, we are able to collect supplies like shampoo, toilet paper, cleaning supplies for the shelter like bleach, dish soap, toys for the children, school supplies, shoes, hats, clothes, etc, many items that address the daily needs of our clients, but also offer the comforts of a home they no longer have.
Hillview is a public benefit non profit agency that has served the most severly mentally disabled adults in the San Fernando Valley since 1966. In addition to our outpatient population, close to 100 clients live in Hillview housing. Most of these clients receive funding from Social Security, SSI or General relief; others have no funding at all. Therefore donations from Shelter Partnership are are not only apppreciated, but also very necessary. Most of the items are distributed immediately, others are put away so that we can fill 100 holiday baskets. Clients enjoy the personal items, clothing, hats and miscellaneous gift items that you send our agency. Baskets that are left over are given to new residents when they move in. These Welcome Baskets along with many of your cleaning supplies help them establish their new household. Shelter Partnership saves our agency from buying certain items and allows us to purchase other important items for our clients. Thank you for the good work that you do for the less fortunate in our community.
Shelter Partnership is a superior organization that has stayed true to its mission and goals. The members of the organization are dedicated and knowledgeable, and do work that actually makes a difference in Los Angeles. When I have spent time and worked with employees from SP, they have been both passionate about their work and optimistic about possibilities.
1736 Family Crisis Center’s mission is to comprehensively help children (newborns through adolescents), women, men, and families through crisis circumstances, including domestic violence, abuse, homelessness, neglect, poverty, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, distress, and to improve their prospects for long-term housing, safety, survival, financial stability and success.
1736 Family Crisis Center was founded in 1972, as a community outreach effort to shelter children who were sleeping on LA County’s South Bay beaches. In the course of this work, we began to receive many calls from battered women seeking help. 1736 FCC responded by opening an emergency domestic violence shelter in 1981. In 1984, we established the first transitional domestic violence shelter in LA County that offered a clinically-based program. For nine years, it remained the only one of its kind in the County.
Today, we operate four domestic violence shelters, an emergency youth shelter, an in-house Legal Services Department, a City of LA-funded Family Source Center to help poverty-stricken residents increase their income; a job development and placement program; five 24-hour crisis hotlines; and three outpatient Community Service Centers in LA County.
We operate all of our shelters in homes that are warm and comfortable. Shelter Partnership plays an important part in this by providing us with hygiene products, clothing, toys, games, and many items that our clients would not be able to quickly access because they were going through a crisis.
We serve 5000 clients through our direct services each year. On any given day, we serve about 165 clients in our shelters and thousands more through indirect services such as outreach, educational presentations, 24-hour crisis hotlines and governmental presentations. A blanket, a sweater, or a teddy bear, all provided by Shelter Partnership, help to make our clients feel at ease when times may otherwise be difficult.
The Independent Living Center of Southern California (ILCSC) serves the most vulnerable population of persons with disabilities, older adults, and veterans. They are in need of the basic necessities of life, and the items donated by Shelter Partnership throughout the years, make the difference for our clients. We are truly grateful to Shelter Partnership; and all of their staff, who provide excellent customer service.
Shelter Partnership is an organization with great heart, always there to figure out how to be helpful to organizations like ours (Housing Works) that work with the most vulnerable of the people in Los Angeles who are homeless. SP is a key voice for sustainable change in order to create a better community for everyone.
Through the St. Francis Center we provide programs and services for homeless and near homeless families in the community of DTLA. Shelter Partnership has been such a huge help throughout the year providing our guests with helpful non food items such as blankets, back packs, toys, kitchen items, diapers, clothes, etc. We are grateful for the help they have provided, Anita and the staff are awesome!
A Community of Friends’ mission is to end homelessness through the provision of quality permanent supportive housing for people with mental illness.
For over ten years, we have been fortunate enough to receive much needed donations from Shelter Partnership. The S. Mark Taper Foundation Shelter Resource Bank.
When a tenant moves into one of our buildings, they are often provided with a welcome home basket.
Most of the items in the basket, are items which have either have been donated by Shelter Partnership or private donors. Some of the items, may include, a shower curtain, tooth paste, tooth, brush, cleaning supplies, among many other day to day household items.
I would personally like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Shelter Partnership, which make it all possible. From the administrative staff to the great folks at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Shelter Resource Bank. Anita, Jerri, and the rest of the crew. Thank you!
Sincerely,
William Membreno
Shelter Partnership in Los Angeles is great. Their services provided to small to med-range non profit organizations enhances our services provided to the clients we serve. Their dedication to move unwanted but usable items from the corporate world and out of land fills to the needed is unmeasurable. I hope Shelter Partnership can expand their ideas and mission across America. Thank you Shelter Partnership for securing resources that non-profits need and would otherwise have been dispose of on landfills.
Shelter Partnership is one of the great organizations of Los Angeles building a bridge between business and non-profits. Most small to mid-size non-profits struggle to solicit for much needed donations due to the time consuming efforts of providing for the needs of their clients. Shelter Partnership, in essence supplies the troops that are on the front line with much needed resources. THANK YOU!
At Alegria, we offer transitional housing for families in need as well as permanent housing, after school and community activities. Shelter Partnership helps us provide our clients with essentials as well as gifts and books for the children. This year, the experience is even better with managing the donations on line without loosing the personnal touch of communicating directly. We always look forward to the next donation.
We are a non-profit organization that provides transitional housing and permanent supportive housing to very low income individuals and families with disabilities. Thanks to Shelter Partnership we are able to offer our clients with essential items that they could otherwise not afford on their own and they are always very appreciative when they receive the donations. The ordering process is easy and the items are always ready for us to pick up.
You work hard and it shows, You get it Done, You get right Your results are outstanding House Of Mercy serve food, clothing, parenting classes, our annual Christmas drive, advocacy assistance to make sure the poor are treated fairly, drop-on services for emergencies, immigration services and more.
We provide these services on a shoestring budget. Shelter partnership has been a beacon of hope for the poorest of the poor by providing donations of cloths, toys, laundry supplies, paper goods, blankets, books, and much more thank you Shelter Partnership.
Here at Union Rescue Mission we appreciate Shelter Partnership greatly. They have been a partner to us and the donations they provide us help us better serve our beloved guests. They are super efficient, organized, and ordering has become even simpler with their new system.
Shelter Partnership is an outstanding organzation with a HUGE list of clients. They are able to touch so many organizations that are doing wonderful work in our community and help transform lives.
We are a non-profit organization providing services to clients in need. Many are homeless and have multiple needs with minimal resources. Shelter Partnership has been an important part of how we are able to provide our clients with the many items they have given us through the years. The staff is helpful and picking up the goods has always been an easy experience as everthing is ready and waiting for us.
They are a wonderful organization!
We have programs that serve formerly homeless families. We provide them with the skills and training to become independent and self sufficient. Shelter Partnership generously gives us items to help the families feel loved and valued.
We get a lot of very practical items through Shelter Partnership -- bleach, soap, tissues, hygiene products. What makes our relationship special is when they give us the kinds of things we cannot afford to buy.
My favorite example is when we received wooden bread boxes for our families. What might seem like an insignificant counter item brought tears to more than one woman's eyes. As we help families rebuild their lives, Shelter Partnership helps us give hope for a better tomorrow.
The useful, the necessary, and the surprising--we've received them all fromShelter Partnership, quarterly, year after year. The blankets, the bleach, the soap, and similar items provide us and our shelter residents with items critical for maintaining a clean and safe facility. In that we receive these gifts at no cost means that we save dollars at the same time that we extend more service to more people. And then, on top of all else, there are the surprises. Most recently we requested three boxes of "T-shirts," and who knew what that might be. They arrived, we opened the boxes, and like butterflies out flew these startling colors and designs. In short order, everyone in the shelter was wearing a new t-shirt, and amazed that we were simply giving them away, a regular designer product. It's this combination of things that fills us with equal amounts of gratitude and delight.
Shelter Partnership has been a wonderful community partner to our non profit organization. Through their generosity, thousands of children and families have benefited by their donations. Our organization has always enjoyed working with their staff who are always helpful, gracious and a pleasure to work with. We look forward to growing our relationship with Shelter Partnership in the years to come.
The youth at Journey House are able to have basic hygiene because of Shelter Partnership. They are greatful to be connected to such a wonderful organization.
Shelter Partnership has been extremely helpful to our organization. Their staff and volunteers are helpful, courteous, and professional. Communication and information transfer is timely and direct. It is always a pleasure doing business with Shelter Partnership and I look forward to a lasting professional relationship with this great organization.
Shelter Partnership is a Wonderful organization that has Blessed thousands of our homeless consumers and families throughout Los Angeles County. Their Generosity, caring hearts and empathy towards the population we serve has been demonstrated on a consistent basis over the past 10 years I've partnered with them. Shelter Partnership is Awesome, they are Blue Ribbon and Top of the Line... The staff's Professionalism , Positive Attitude and willingness to support Homeless folks, Low Income Families, Communities, and Non Profit Organizations is Remarkable..
Shelter partnership has been wonderful to our organization. We have been involved with them for 10+ years and with their assistance we have been able to provide much needed items to our clients, such as blankets, personal hygiene items, clothing, diapers, etc. Our clients are so grateful, as are we as an agency. Thank you to the wonderful staff (especially Anita) and all of the hardworking people at Shelter Partnership who do so much!
Shelter Partnership has been enormously helpful. The upfront part is easy and obvious--they do the hard work to locate, store, and distribute materials that make an enormous difference to our organization and the people we serve. Some of these seem small, such as blankets, but can be literal lifesavers to people on the streets. Shelter Partnership has also helped us with materials that keep our agency going--everything from cleaning supplies to "luxury" materials (pens and small things) that we use in the office and give to clients when they need them. Less obvious is how much Shelter Partnership has bent over backwards to make sure our agency has been able to participate. They have been golden for us! Just as important, the people at Shelter Partnership consistently push the entire continuum here in Los Angeles to be more effective in working to end homelessness. They are awesome!
Our organization has been partnering with Shelter Partnership for over 8 years and they have been nothing short of amazing. We are a large non-profit in Los Angeles County providing services and housing to the homeless and women & children's facilities. Because of Shelter Partnership we have been able to provide much needed clothing, blankets, hygiene's, diapers, toys etc. to people who are truly in need. I cannot thank this organization enough. Thank you for all that you do for us and our community.

We have partnered with Shelter Partnership for the past five years and have been very pleased with their professionalism, their hard work ethic and their contribution to the LA and Orange County communities that need their assistance. Our employees enjoy volunteering once or sometimes, twice a year to assist them with organizing goods for distribution. We also feel good by donating footwear and apparel to Shelter Partnership because we know the product will go to where it is most needed. Thank you for all the good things you do!
Jenny
I have been involved with the Shelter Partnership organization for over a year and am very proud to be associated with such a tremendous organization that focuses on selflessly helping others that are homeless. The Shelter Partnership utilizes its team effectively in focusing policy, housing solutions, and good and services to the agencies in the LA area that directly serve the homeless. They do all of this with a small but tenacious staff dedicated to the cause of helping the homeless, the prevention of those that have a high propensity of becoming homelessness, and in the cause to ultimately eliminate homelessness. They are truly unsung heroes!!
I have been involved with this wonderful organization for three years now. They continue to address homelessness in a manner that efficiently distributes resources where most needed throughout various homeless shelters within the area. Having personally visited the Shelter Partnership distribution center on a number of occasions, it is very evident to me that donations of product, as well as cash donations, are sent to where they are most needed based upon the lists provided by the various shelters with whom they deal. Given the continued governmental cuts in aid to the homeless, Shelter Partnership is needed now more than ever in the continued battle to both aid the homeless and assist those in need in the quest to return to a stable living environment.
Shelter Partnership takes on the crucial task of collecting and distributing much needed items to most of the homeless agencies in Los Angeles. Using these otherwise discarded items towards helping people who have nothing is a very positive, common sense way to "go green." In a society that has become wasteful and selfish, isn't it nice to know that Shelter Partnership hels make good come out of society's cast aways (both people and resources).
When I see a homeless person, I feel a little less helpless when I know that Shelter Partnership exists. I remember when it first began, Ann Lane told me about it. Well, The Partnership has grown. Sadly, so has the homeless population. I have been to the warehouse in Bell and it gladdens my heart to know that The Shelter Partnership has developed so many generous resources and channels them to the great, but underfunded organizations that put their arms around the homeless and the poor. The staff is so focused and the leadership is so passionate. I know that Los Angeles has a heart and it is The Shelter Partnership.
I have been a Board member for over 20 years of a non-profit for abused and neglected kids. I have a heart for those less fortunate individuals that need our assistance. On my tour of the Shelter Partnership facility, it was clearly evident that good things were happening on a regular basis!! People were being served. The facility was very organized. Donations were going for good uses.
Shelter Partnership has been educating the public and our political leaders about homelessness in Los Angeles for 25 years. In a County that is larger than some states, and has a larger population and a larger economy than many states, raising public awareness and advocating for the right kinds of interventions is absolutely essential.
shelterpartnership is a great resource for the agencies that are providing shelter for the homeless. I think the staff are all caring people and Ruth is great. I am so glad they are around and helping big and small alike. My residents are blessed this holiday season with what Essence of Light was able to get from the resource center.Thank you Shelter partnership
Shelter Partnership is an amazing organization helping the hundreds of non-profits who serve the thousands of homeless men, women and children in Los Angeles. Shelter Partnership's Resource Bank distributes over $10 million worth of new goods for the homeless: personal care items, household goods, bedding, clothing, shoes and toys absolutely free. This is an amazingly efficient non-profit model, allowing manufacturers to donate their surplus products and ensure they are truly benefiting those with the greatest need. Shelter Partnership is also the preeminent expert providing technical assistance on homelessness to government and community organizations, promoting the development of critical housing and services.
I have been participating in and following the growth of this organization for the past ten years and have seen it grow tremendously during that period in it's real impact to the different shelters it helps to support in Los Angeles. This organization continues to grow it's reach and scope of assisting the homeless improve the quality of daily life as well as helping some of these people make progress in recovery. I attended their open house last year in their new warehouse and not only was the facility quite impressive but more importantly were the leaders and managers of this organization. Hats off to Shelter Partnership and you will have my continued support.
So many non-profits have great intentions, but Shelter Partnership really delivers the goods --tons and tons of material support for families in need. I was amazed, while touring SP's warehouse, at the variety of goods on the shelves --from necessities like toothpaste to computers to wonderful toys that will surely be the highlight of some children's Christmas holiday.
As their name implies, Shelter Partnership has been the consummate partner in working with the Community Development Commission/Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles over many years helping to identify and assist with the needs of the homeless. They have been instrumental, for example, in providing much needed information on the number of homeless in Los Angeles County on any given night. Their highly innovative Shelter Resource Bank project garners regular support from the County Board of Supervisors and, as a recipient of federal funds, they run an extremely efficient and well organized program that always meets grant requirements. Exemplifying the meaning of partnership, they have generously donated to the Commission’s and Housing Authority’s Holiday programs for low-income families and those families living in public housing by providing toys and other critical necessities.
The efficiency with which they operate is a model for other organizations. They serve so may with so few resources.
One of the great things about Shelter Partnership is how easy it makes life for donors. Instead of getting "hit up" repeatedly by individual shelters, Shelter Partnership works with the donor on large, corporate donations of goods and then distributes those goods throughout the Los Angeles area. This has the double benefit of making the donor more likely to give while making donations easier. And it's one of the things that allows Shelter Partnership to leverage its donations so that one dollar of cash donation is equivalent to $20 worth of goods.
The Shelter Partnership is a wonderful concept and reality. What they are able to do for the many shelters that they serve is astonishing. Having a one stop shop for the organization to go to for their vital needs is extremely efficient. I run a non-profit children's dental center in the Greater Los Angeles area and provide oral health care to underserved children and their caregivers and working with the staff at the Shelter Partnership for our needs was easy and effective. They not only help organizations that you would expect them to help, but also organizations like ours. Thank you Shelter Partnership for all that you do for the community. We all benefit from your services.
I have been involved with Shelter Partnership as a Board Member (three years of which I was chairman) for about 15 years. The staff of Shelter Partnership and the way they achieve their goals of assisting to relieve homelessness in Los Angeles County is phenomenal. Their research, education and technical assistance to public agencies stands as a unique example on how non-profits should carry out their duties. The Resource Bank is an amazing project that has distributed almost $160 million of donated products to homeless shelters, without cost to the shelters, over the past 20 years. I cannot say enough great things about Shelter Partnership.
I have been donating to Shelter Partnership for over ten years. What Shelter Partnership accomplishes on behalf of the homeless and working for the end to homelessness given the budget they operate on is staggering. It is far and away the most efficient charity that I give to. The Resource Bank that they operate is both ingenious in concept and remarkable in execution, moving about $10 million each year in new, donated clothing, blankets and personal hygiene items from manufacturers to the homeless. If you want to both help homeless people and see homelessness one day ended, you should donate to Shelter Partnership.
