Mission: To aid persons suffering from chronic renal failure, and persons requiring renal transplantation; and to encourage and promote research, education and other activities relating to the prevention, diagnosis, causes, treatment and cure of kidney diseases with financial assistance and other means.
Programs: Patient related services - direct patient assistance with food, medications, nutritional supplements, transportation, dental care, living expenses, educational scholarships, and free kidney health screenings. Approximately 1,500 patients served during the year.
public education campaign - multimedia effort including tv commercials, printed materials, and feature articles to raise awareness about the prevalence of kidney disease, who is at increased risk, and how to be tested. Projected to reach 2. 2 million people.
medical research on the prevention and cure of kidney diseases is sponsored by the national organization and is supported by the local organization.
