In partnership with other local organizations, our volunteers served 796 hours to offer a backyard bible club which provided 2 meals a day, monday through friday, for two consecutive weeks in the summer, serving up to 30 children each day with games, activities, bible lessons and fellowship. The summer wound up with a free weekend trip to camp penuel, where volunteers invested 4,617 hours in planning and serving to provide inner-city children with a camp experience. We offered a kids in the kitchen cooking class for a few weeks in the summer, in partnership with a local university. Volunteers also served 42 hours in a weekly tutoring program with a partner organization in the community. We will continue to find creative ways to welcome children to programs which are not only entertaining, but educational and beneficial for them and their families, thanks to the many volunteers who serve with us.
