Thank you for your continued efforts on publishing about the dangers of Fluoroquinolone antibiotics. We are screaming to the world for them to hear us.... the medical community has been slow to respond. The urgent medical care and research we need lags far behind alas. So many more millions will be damaged and disabled without the information they need to be informed of all potential dangers.

MedShadow has been instrumental in getting the dangers of fluoroquinolone antibiotics out into the consciousness of the public and I find their other posts very informative and helpful also. They provide a beneficial public service and should receive continued funding.

I very much appreciate MedShadow reporting on the dangerous adverse effects of the Fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics (Cipro, Levaquin, Vigamox, etc.). These drugs have many Box Warnings issued by the FDA yet they continue to be dispensed with seeming abandon, injuring tens if not hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting patients, when safer meds could be used. This is important information the public needs to know! Thanks for the eye-opening work you do.

Thank you for your coverage of the dangers of fluoroquinolone antibiotics, levaquin, cipro, avelox, factive. These dangerous chemotherapy drugs disguised as antibiotics have destroyed many lives and should be taken only in life threatening situations.

I am a patient advocate, who has written two well-respected books about the healthcare system. I consider the MedShadow Foundation to be one of my best resources for unbiased, accurate, thought-provoking information abut the medical system. I am grateful to MedShadow every day.

Medshadow does what other health and medicine websites fail to do, putting health and informed decision-making over making a quick buck. I know I can trust their information since they don't get pharmaceutical funding. As someone who suffers from Crohn's disease and has successfully avoided meds his whole life, I'm grateful that Medshadow can stay independent and focus on the people. Thank you!

In 2013 and 2016 I was seriously injured by a fluoquinolone antibiotic called Ciprofoxacin. My doctors and my pharmacist said this couldn't be true and that the side effects spoken of by the FDA are "rare". Doctors accused me of trying to get pain pills, of being depressed, or trying to get out of work..they made me feel like I was crazy...and then came Medshadow...telling the truth and reporting on the dangers of these drugs when no one else would. There are thousands of people in the "Floxed" community who thank Medshadow for doing the job the FDA should be doing. Medshadow Foundation is saving lives. Thank you...keep up the awesome work.

Thank you Medshadow for your honest reporting on pharmaceuticals such as the class of antibiotics called Fluoroquinolones.

I too like, Mark A. Girard have suffered from horrific adverse reactions to Ciprofloxacin. I got a double whammy when my dr prescribed steroids along with Cipro.
This class of drug is so toxic that it feels like a bomb goes off inside of you and then comes the domino effect. Unfortunately this class of antibiotics are doctors go to drug for simple infections when they’re other antibiotics that could’ve been used with way less side effects.

I have been diagnosed or rather misdiagnosed with a lot of different health issues as a result. I am in pain 24/7. I actually have what is known as Fluoroquinolone Toxicity or FQAD. However doctors do not even want to recognize or acknowledge this term. My dr laughed at me when I suggested maybe it was the antibiotic causing all my issues. So she sent me on my journey of seeing many specialists and a ton of tests. I was lucky enough to have one specialist recognize drug induced illness from Cipro. Unfortunately Doctors do not know how to fix Fluoroquinolone Toxicity.
The sad fact is that all medications cause side effects and or adverse reactions but this class of drugs is like using a CANNON to kill a fly when a fly swatter would’ve done the job with less risks.
People need to hear the truth about these drugs and others. This class of drug is so underreported. The FDA would have us believe that there’s only a few select people that experience adverse reactions to this drug but in fact they’re are thousands upon thousands! Most of which do not connect the dots to an antibiotic they’ve taken. Like chemotherapeutic drugs Fluoroquinolones sometimes have delayed reactions. So this is why the number of reports are lower than the actual number of people that are harmed by Fluoroquinolones.
People need to hear the truth about medications and Medshadow is helping us do just that. So thank you Medshadow for being one of our many voices.

Healing prayers to everyone!

THANK YOU MEDSHADOW FOUNDATION! I’m grateful that Medshadow is there to provide much more honest reporting about pharmaceutical products than we can get from the drug industry funded mainstream media. I learned the hard way just how broken the system really is when I had a HORRIFIC adverse reaction to the synthetic antibiotics Cipro and then Levaquin, prescribed back to back in 2007. These incredibly toxic drugs destroyed my body from head to toe with a textbook case of fluoroquinolone toxicity, and yet it is almost impossible for me to get any of the umpteen different doctors I see to even acknowledge that the fluoroquinolones (FQs) could be responsible for my long list of painful debilitating health issues. The sad and sorry truth is that medications cause all sorts of misery for an enormous segment of the population that are routinely misdiagnosed, usually resulting in even more medication. People need to read the truth about medications, not the carefully worded propaganda provided by the drug companies to make their toxic addictive substances, fraudulent research and corrupt business practices seem appealing. A big part of the problem is that there are nowhere near enough media outlets like Medshadow with the integrity to tell it like it is, either for the public or for medical professionals.

Medshadow has been a strong supporter of the exploding community of people who have been harmed by fluoroquinolones and we are grateful. I look forward to helping them grow their audience and to posting lots of comments on their facebook page in the future. If I wasn't so angry at the drug industry and doctors and pharmacists, I would give them 5 stars, but they lose one from me because of their balanced reporting and willingness to sometimes echo FDA or industry talking points, like that adverse reactions to a class of drugs like the FQs is rare when in fact the reactions are just vastly under-reported. I would prefer something that attacks the status quo even more aggressively, and who knows, perhaps they will move in that direction. All in all, though, I am mighty glad they are there and I support them and recommend them wholeheartedly.

Seriously, go to their facebook page and read some of their articles and the comments from their readers. You need to know what they are posting! Heck, if you can afford it, donate a few bucks. I wish I could,. but FQs left me broken and broke.

Best wishes everyone!

Medshadow and I share a skepticism about common pharmaceutical prescribing practices and common understanding about pharmaceutical products. Medshadow does a commendable job doing research and in explaining a variety of pharmaceutical side-effect and other issues. I think they are a valuable resource.

As a pharmacist I know MedShadow is dedicated to providing accurate, unbiased health information about medication risks and benefits. I've had contact with a number of the MedShadow team members over the past several years and know each of them is dedicated to fulfilling their mission: "We (MedShadow) provide evidence-based, straightforward information to help people better understand the risks and benefits of the medicines they are taking or may be prescribed. In this way, patients can take a more active role in their health care to preserve their quality of life."
When patients take an active role in their health care and learn about their medications many things happen. Not only are they better able to make informed decisions about their medications but they can reduce the incidence of drug side effects and adverse drug reactions. I always say "a better educated patient is a better medicated patient".

Medshadow is a great nonprofit. Its website is outstanding, and as far as I am aware, the only of its kind. Medshadow is dedicated to getting accurate information about drug side effects into the hands of the people that need this info the most--everyone. Their homepage even includes a link to the FDA so people can report side effects they have experienced. This could lead directly to recalls of medication that could be improved! I think that's great. The articles on the site are easy to understand and not full of incomprehensible medical lingo. There are links to sources and breakdowns of new drug studies released and what they mean. I believe Medshadow encourages informed caution about using drugs, due to their side-effects, without dismissing their utility and necessity for many people. That is a difficult balance to achieve. I wish there were more nonprofits like Medshadow in the world.

I'm grateful for MedShadow and the information they post on side effects. While I was pregnant recently, I found the comprehensive articles on drugs and pregnancy were really helpful. Not only did I gain knowledge that helped me make immediate decisions but I became more confident in asking my physician questions based on what MedShadow had posted.

MedShadow Foundation is the best site for information on drugs and side effects. This site probably saved my life with all of the useful information it provided me with in my younger, college years. I'm most likely not alone in this regard. They are doing amazing work educating the public with easy to read articles about the side effects of medicine and I am so grateful for their support.

My child has asthma, and I stumbled across MedShadow's website and was able to find information on the pros and cons of using prescribed medicine for a child for a sustained period of time. The articles were written by healthcare journalists, and as a non profit I found that I could trust the information more. Because of MedShadow, I have more confidence and knowledge to have real conversations with my son's pediatrician about prescribed medications, their side effects, and possible alternatives. Thanks MedShadow!

MedShadow Foundation is doing amazing and important work that benefits everyone. Educating the public about the risk and benefits of medicine is crucial in at this time. The US is the number one country with the most prescribed medications and information about medicine is so important as pharmaceuticals usually downplay the side effects that a med may cause.

I suffered from side effects from a medication I took to treat my Rheumatoid Arthritis and it almost killed me. Unfortunately, before I began taking the medication I did not do enough research and have the adequate conversations to help me minimize the risks of side effect harm. I'm so grateful for MedShadow because they have really helped me to be able to have those conversations. Through their rich content, research, and articles, I have learned the right questions to ask, find alternative ways to treat my condition, and how to manage side effects in general. I really hope MedShadow stays around for a long time. The public needs non profits like this!

I love getting my weekly email updates to see what I can learn from the Medshadow Foundation. Totally relatable and helpful, from which over the counter cold medicines may help to which suntan lotion is the safest for you and your family. The articles are written in easy to understand language with enough sophistication and sources/links to follow up. My mom suffered from Parkinson's and I gained new insight from Medshadow on her illness. Thank you MedShadow.

MedShadow has been a wonderful resource for our family as we've worked to understand the short- and long-terms effects of drugs prescribed to our granddaughter for ADHD, as well as for older relatives who appear to be suffering from over-medication. Kudos to the entire team at MedShadow for their balanced approach to providing information on how drugs work and continue to act in the body for years to come.

MedShadow is doing a great service by educating consumers about the risks and benefits of prescription and OTC drugs, as well as supplements. They also provide alternative ways to treat medical conditions that can minimize or eliminate the need for medications. Their articles are well researched and sourced, with comments from medical experts and patients. Best of all, they are free from medical and health industry funding, so I trust the information I get from their site. They do a lot considering they rely on individual donations.

There are a lot of websites out there that talk about health and wellness, but MedShadow is different from them. They focus mostly on the side effects of drugs, something that isn't discussed often enough among doctors, even though they affect many people. You can learn a lot about the benefits and risks of many commonly taken drugs, including what to look out for, allowing you to become more informed about your health. They also publish blogs which are well written and often cover topics I haven't seen anywhere else.

I subscribe to MedShadow's newsletter so that every Friday I see what's new on the website. I was surprised to find out that every medicine has side effects. I knew from my friends who had dealt with cancer that sometimes the side effects are horrific and can even kill. But I hadn't realized that even "normal" drugs like Benedryl and Rolaids can be very negative for my sistem.
Thanks MedShadow for having my back!

I have congenital hypothyroidism, a condition where my thyroid doesn't produce the hormones it needs for me to function as a healthy human being. I have to take synthroid for my condition, and because of that I'm hyperaware of what I put into my body and the effects it can have on my health. I never knew what to ask my doctor when it comes to medication and health, but now I know that it's okay to ask because of MedShadow, and that I have a right to know. MedShadow is focused on educating the public about what side effects medications and drugs might have, and for that, I'm extremely grateful. It's better to know than not to know. It's better to be aware than to be ignorant. It's better to ask questions than to not ask questions and potentially be harmed later. Thank you MedShadow for making me more confident in my right to know about what I'm putting in my body when it comes to medication, drugs, and general health.
