Loving Arms Pet Placement

Had a great experience with Loving Arms. I think they are selective with who they place pets with, and also take their time to make sure the placement is a good fit. Our experience was excellent with them. We found a dog on their website and filled in the application for adoption. We then went to Petsmart on the weekend to visit our dog and the following week we ended up fostering for 3 weeks and then adopted it. They were very responsive and checked in on how we were doing every few days. They care about the animals and making sure the match is a good one.

This place does not care about having their dogs adopted!!!! I saw this beautiful dog at a Petco and I immediately knew I wanted to take her home so I asked and they let me know I had to fill out and application and then they were gonna check out my place. I said okay that’s fine and was the first thing I did when I got home. It’s been 3 weeks and I still haven’t heard from them. I wrote them an email and apparently they were gonna get back to me and never did. I went on here and saw that others had the same experience and it’s ridiculous. I hope they get reported and all their doggies go to adoption centers where they’ll actually get adopted in less than a week maybe even the same day.

Joann is very unprofessional. She does not return calls. She did not show up for an appointment and home inspection. They seem like they want to get there animals adopted however, my experience after three weeks has been just the opposite. The dog I was drawn to and spent time with was being housed in a kennel. I filled out the application and they did not contact me. I contacted them again. Again they said they would contact me. I contacted them again and they set up a home inspection. They were a no-show. All the time this poor dog is in a kennel. It's a very sad situation. I've decided to look elsewhere. I'm not certain what their issues are, but they won't communicate! I would check elsewhere to adopt a pet as sad as it is to say, there is something very dishonest about this organization. Also there contract with Petsmart in Copperfield was terminated. Wonder why??????

Seems this group has stolen a family pet won't return until a bogus vet bill for HW treatment is paid but refused to supply vet bill. They are no longer a viable active non profit

My friend went up to Copperfield Petsmart on Nov 18th 2017. She immediately fell in love with a grey tabby kitten. They let her sit and hold and pet Lila. She had an immediate bond with this kitten. Libby Nelson had her fill out the forms and told her that since she was the first to apply if approved she would get Lila. They would contact her in a couple of days. Well they never contacted her, I went up the following Saturday and spoke to Libby. She apologised and said the Thanksgiving holiday slowed everyone down but she would call her that evening. Everything seemed fine until she called. She HAD been approved, but they decided to give the kitten to someone who filled out an online application that same evening. But she would gladly give her one of the older cats they had. That's called bait and switch. I called and spoke to Joanne, the head director and she was going to look into it and get back with me. The coward did, she TEXTED me that the kitten was going to a family and my friend could have an adult cat. Pat is 88 years young, has a walker but gets around fine, has a home, and funds to perfectly take care of a pet. What they are doing is call age discrimination. They led her to believe she was going to get the kitten but they were lying the entire time. Libby Nelson, Joanne Smith and Barbara Lewis are the most horrendous people I have had the unfortunate chance to deal with. I have filed a complaint to Petsmart's corporate office, I ask that anyone else that has had issues with them do the same. These women should not even be running an adoption for animals, they have no compassion whatsoever. Matter of fact, Barbara Lewis is banned from entering Copperfield Petsmart, that tells you who they are. Petsmart wants to replace them with a reputable pet adoption agency, but corporate needs to hear these stories in order to remove them. In the meantime, the cats that are in the glass kennels are from a group called Stretch for Strays. I am currently working with them to get a kitten for my friend, and Kelli has been a breath of fresh air to work with after the rancid odor of Libby, Barbara and Joanne. Please, if you can, call Copperfield Petsmart and tell the manager you would like to file a complaint. These people need to be stopped. If I could have, I would have given them no stars, they don't even deserve one.

This is the worst experience I've ever had in adopting a cat. It doesn't deserve even one star. I had the cat less than 5 months before she died. I was led to believe this was a healthy cat, but instead she had health problems dating at least a year ago. First of all, the foster lady said that she was only 4 years old, and if she or the owner of this company had cared enough to look in the medical records, they would have noticed that she was almost 7. She sneezed a bit and I was told that it was nothing and she really downplayed that. The cat was a little thinner than I thought she should be, and was told that she was just little. Well, the vet we took her to almost immediately after having adopted her said she had an upper respiratory infection dating back at least a year. Then we got a blood test for her from another vet who said she either had feline leukemia in her bone marrow or cancer, neither disease would have occurred since we adopted her. These people will say anything to get you to adopt a cat. Also, they didn't give me the medical records until after I adopted the cat. They can't be trusted. STAY AWAY!

The earlier reviews could not be farther from the experience I had with Loving Arms. I spotted a tabby at Petsmart and fell in love. Knowing the cost and care involved, I spent 3 weeks thinking hard about adopting him. Joanne was very thorough and prompt with all of her responses. We were delivered our precious bundle at 8pm last night as promised. I could not have asked for a better group of folks to adopt a cat or dog from.

This is far from a great non profit. I was shopping at Petsmart with my Fiancé and as usual we walk past the adoptions section to see the cats. I did not have any intention to do more than look but there was a 2-3 year old black cat that we instantly fell in love with and felt a connection to. I had recently last year lost a black cat who would be his age had the thousands I spent on surgery to help his condition saved his life. I at that point decided we would adopt him and give him a home. I went through the proper channels. Spoke to Joanne on the phone, submit my application and then went to a Saturday even to meet Moony, hopefully the newest member of our family. Everything seemed well, I was told they would need to make arrangements with my landlords which I ended up doing myself, and that by Friday of that week he was mine. Friday rolls along and nothing. I make phone calls, and send emails ... Over the course of an entire month and get absolutely no response what so ever. I grew frustrated and suggested that I didn't want to give up on Moony but if I had to, that I would make sure in would share this negative experience wherever I could. ONLY THEN did I eat a reply, stating items on my application were incomplete. No apology, no excuse despite that I expressed feeling ignored and neglected as a client and that Moony has been in a cage this entire time when he could have been happily in a home loved and spoiled had they conducted themselves professionally and as the animal lovers they claim to be. As someone stated already, you would think they would try their hardest to find these pets homes. Especially an older cat, and a black one which is often left behind because of the age and color. Joanne offered no sympathy, empathy or any sort of apology or resentment for completely ignoring me and I feel insulted, appalled and discriminated against. I would advise you give your donation money towards an adoption organization that shows they care about their pets. If Joanne ever reads this, you are a horrible human being for leading us on and acting like you cared about these precious animals. As promised I will share my experience everywhere I can.

I Have been trying to adopt a dog for 3 weeks now, I love this dog so much and we have been "approved" for the adoption, It took a week just to hear back after we sent in the application, the person who runs this organization is very slow and not very punctual. The foster parents of this dog were willing to give us the dog because they trusted us but the owner said that she had to inspect the house, we had to replace the latches on 2 of our fences because you could not lock them with a pad lock, i can understand how that could be a problem but when we scheduled our inspection time, THE OWNER DIDN'T SHOW UP! she came an hour and 1/2 late, and after the inspection was over she said everything looked good, and then we get a call the next morning saying we had to wait 2 weeks until a divorce in the family was finalized because "the dog shouldn't have to go through the divorce" but... the terms of the divorce aren't going to change... it is just being finalized so it makes NO SENSE, the foster parents are very nice but the owner is not punctual and makes everything a hassle

I tried so hard to contact these people, I never could get the person to call me back! I thought they wanted people to adopt these animals, guess not!
I got an email from a nice person telling me she could assist me in getting the appropriate person to call me back, it was a beautiful fluffy yellow kitty that I wanted so bad. I dont understand, my vet told me that the rescues are very busy but I tried for 5 weeks, I had to go elsewhere, and was able to adopt from a wonderful group that called me back in about 6 hours!

Loving Arms Pet Placement places stray and abandoned pets, and they are doing a great job! All the pets are up to date on all vet work, if the dogs are positive for heartworms when they are rescued, they treat them prior to adoption. All the pets are spayed or neutered and have microchips. All this for a very reasonable adoption fee. I would suggest this organization to anyone.
