Courtney at LEXIAM Heart Foundetion reached out to me when I was in Nicu. They helped pay for our stay, Courtney read our sweet boy books, gave us books for him and made us feel like we weren’t alone in our new journey. Thank you LEXIAM for making our life so much easier and helping us know our sweet boy wasn’t alone in this fight.
We want to first express our appreciation to this foundation. With Lexium we were supported both financially and mentally. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
This is Logan. Logan was born on January 21, 2021. He was born at the Children’s Hospital in Colorado. Logan has Hypo-plastic Right Heart Syndrome or Tricuspid Atresia.
We found out about Logan’s condition when I was 19 weeks pregnant. The doctor told my husband and I that Logan would not survive after birth. We were devastated… We were then referred to a cardiologist where our hope was restored. We traveled to Colorado and stayed at the Ronald McDonald to wait for Logan’s arrival. When Logan was born, he was evaluated and watched closely. He had his first surgery when he was 4 days old. They placed a stent in his heart. We were finally able to come home when Logan was 1 and a half months old. We traveled again to Colorado when Logan was 5 months and he had his Glenn procedure, which is an open heart surgery. He is now flourishing and doing amazing.
We are so lucky and blessed to have Logan and we do not take one single day for granted. God truly blessed us with a miracle and we love to watch him grow and learn.
I have been a supporter of Lexiam Heart Foundation since its inception & have been overwhelmed by the support this nonprofit has been able to provide to heart families in NM. I wish all nonprofits were run the way this one is - bravo, Lexiam!
Lexiam has helped me and my youngest daughter through the most scariest, hardest times of our lives! Rubys first 10 1/2 months in hospitals undergoing heart surgeries..So far she has had 4 heart surgeries, 2 of them being open heart..3 of those heart surgeries, 1 of the open heart surgeries, were all done before and by 5 months old..Her second open heart surgery was Feb. 2021, she was 2 and turned 3 while in the hospital recovering in Houston..Every time Ruby has trouble and has to go to Houston (11 1/2 hours away), or has doctors appointments there, Lexiam always steps in and asks what they can do to help..The most amazing group I have ever seen, people I call family!❤️

Our son went through open heart surgery before Lexiam Heart Foundation existed, and we had no local support system. I was so excited to see this Foundation step up fill such a necessary role for NM families - providing both financial and moral support. My son loves the Superhero Heart Run they organize every year - they always make him feel so special

Julie was born on November 1, 2020 in El Paso, TX. Determined to go into labor naturally with my fourth child, we opted to spend the last few days of pregnancy in a hotel just steps away from the hospital. The heart defects that were discovered during ultrasounds forced us to deliver almost 2 hours away from home. Lexiam Foundation helped with the cost of the hotel and food. We were prepared for some of her heart defects but didn’t find out about her interrupted aortic arch until after delivery. We were flown to Texas Childrens Hospital in Houston, TX. The support of Lexiam again allowed for both parents to be with Julie during her heart surgery. Travel expenses and lodging on top of missed work wasn’t our priority. We were able to focus on our newborn baby and spend those precious moments right by her side. Recovery took almost 6 weeks. I turned to Lexiam for not only financial help during the way but for moral support as well. I was given the tools and knowledge to make our stay in ICU as least stressful as possible. I am thankful for Lexiam every day. Having a child with heart and health issues can be devastating in itself. Feeling alone with the added pressures of the financial responsibilities can easily overwhelm even the strongest of parents. Lexiam helped make an undesirable situation easier to manage. We could not have done it without Lexiam.
One of the most amazing foundations! We found out about Lexiam Heart Foundation after my daughter was diagnosed with congenital heart disease at birth. Since we found out about my daughters defects, I feel like Lexiam has been with us every step of the way. Lexiam has connected us with other heart families and supported us tremendously. Thank you, Lexiam!
Our son has had eight surgeries with three of them being open heart surgeries at the Children’s Hospital in Colorado. The Lexiam heart foundation has reached out to us the last two times we had to go to Denver to offer us gas cards, visa gift cards for lodging and food, As well as emotional support and pointers for the journey we had embarked on. Even when we got back home, they have called to check on us and make sure we were caught up with all of our medical bills so that we didn’t get behind. They have called and emailed to offer emotional support at every turn of our sons journey. To have someone that can guide you step-by-step through this terrifying journey is amazing, but they are so good at it because unfortunately the founders of this amazing foundation have been through this life altering journey with one of their own children. Not all heroes wear capes, I’m just saying, but we love everything the Lexiam Heart Foundation stands for. #heartfamily
Lexium Heart Foundation helped us in our time of need. We had to travel to Colorado from New Mexico for our daughter's heart surgery just one month ago. The support they provide is amazing, not only financial, but emotional too. Thank you Lexium for all you do for New Mexican families, including my own.
We found out about Lexiam Heart Foundation after my sons heart surgery. But they are BEYOND AMAZING! The support they give to New Mexico families is truly beautiful. They gave us a safe spot to meet other families and share stories with one another. I have met so many families through them, who have helped my husband and I cope with being a heart family. The support they provide and create is absolutely wonderful.
Words can’t describe how grateful I am for the Lexium Foundation. The foundation had helped my family and heart angel financially and with the support of local heart families. The ability to share stories and spread the awareness of CHD in our local community.
When our world came tumbling down on us. Lexiam was there to help us. They helped us financially , my grandson Zayden has been in the hospital for over a month. At one point they were willing to pay for a hotel. Driving back and forth from Santa Fe to Albuquerque has taken a toll on us and Lexiam made it so much easier.
Lexiam Heart Foundation is amazing!!!! The work they do for the kids of NM is great and their heroes run is so much fun!!!
My daughter was not diagnosed u til 6 weeks old. She has sever pulmonary artery stenosis, asd and vsd. She has had 10 heart catheterizations and 2 open heart surgeries. Lexiam has provided our family support when we needed it most. This wonderful nonprofit helps families in NM.
My daughter was born with dilated cardiomyopathy and Lexiam Heart Foundation has helped us tremendously - not only financially but emotionally as well. Board members have reached out to me personally almost every time my daughter is in the hospital to see if there was anything they could help us with. Lexiam Heart Foundation is such a wonderful foundation!
As a Lexiam Board member I have been honored to help the families of New Mexico who are affected by congenital heart defects. We know that the road can be intimidating, scary, and feel lonely; however we are here to make sure no one travels alone. I am always in awe of the strength of our Angels, Warriors, and families. The Lexiam Board is made up of all volunteers and we give everything back to the community. We are always willing to look at new ways to help the families in New Mexico that are affected by congenital heart defects.
