Lvhn accomplishes this through its board of trustees who approves and directs all significant financial, legal and organizational issues of lvhn and its subsidiaries. The lvhn board of trustees appoints the board members of each of lvhn subsidiaries. The subsidiary boards are responsible for quality control and other operational type issues. Lehigh valley health network (lvhn) and schuylkill health system (shs) merged effective september 16, 2016. Under the merger, lvhn is the surviving parent organization of the entities previously controlled by shs, including schuylkill medical center - s. Norwegian street; schuylkill health system medical group, inc. Dba lehigh valley physician group - schuylkill; schuylkill rehabilitation center, inc. Dba lehigh valley health network rehabilitation center - schuylkill; and schuylkill health system development corp. Dba lehigh valley health network development corporation - schuylkill. On january 1, 2017, pocono health system (phs) became part of lvhn, with lvhn becoming the parent organization of phs. Phs is the parent organization to pocono medical center dba lehigh valley hospital - pocono; pocono health foundation; pocono health system medical professional liability self insurance trust; pocono ambulatory services, inc. , pocono healthcare partners; family care centers, inc. Dba lehigh valley physician group - pocono; pocono vna-hospice; and west end community ambulance association.
