Center like Bradbury are crucial to support our communities. They have amazing programs that provide volunteer opportunities and services while creating safe spaces for LBTQ people.
This center does important work within the community working on health and social initiatives! I am impressed by all the work they do to help both the Allentown community and beyond.
I relocated to the Lehigh Valley early during the pandemic and was looking for an organization to volunteer with since I had just recently retired before moving here. Volunteering with a variety of non-profit and community organizations has long been a part of my life. I've helped Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center prepare for an in-person PRIDE event in August 2021 and volunteered during the event as well as set-up and clean-up. I have also volunteered in the office, stuffing and addressing envelopes; getting event packets ready and counting coins from a large donation.
In addition, I have been grateful for the flu shot and COVID booster clinics organized by the center and applaud them for the health care related services they provide to the community.
I'm grateful for the resources and programs the center provides. Extra props for the free medical testing and the art gallery!
Interning for this company has been an amazing experience. The people are kind, the events are rich, and a company like this gives power to the LGBT+ community like none other in the Lehigh Valley. Thank you, Bradbury-Sullivan Center!
I really love this place! I've gotten to go to a few groups and the art history talks and I feel like they're trying their best to make a place for LGBTQ+ people in the Lehigh Valley.
The community groups have been really valuable to me. They've helped connect me to different part of my identity I hadn't had the space to explore for a while--especially the Prism group and Breathe. The team who works at Bradbury-Sullivan is thoughtful, caring, and always working to do better for the community.
BSC has always been an inspiring resource for the LGBT community. I first discovered it at a formative time of my life and have made many friends and learned about all the different communities within the acronym.
Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center's value can be measured in the countless lives they serve and save. The center goes beyond its walls and its region to help LGBTQ+ folks build community.
BSC has been a great resource in the community! The events really give a place for the LGBTQ+ community of the Lehigh Valley to celebrate and work hard to help in spaces where people need, like testing, insurance, legal clinics, support groups, etc.
fantastic, beautiful community center - terrific engaging staff and programming, gorgeous physical space, something for everyone! I particularly enjoy the LGBTQ memoir reading group and the LGBTQ poetry group. And the oral history project partly coordinated through the B-S LGBT center. And the art shows. and films. and, and, and...
The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is an organizational leader providing innovative, impactful programming and services for the underserved and underrepresented. The Center cultivates a sense of belonging and support for community members throughout the region and the State. The Center's staff is comprised of a diverse, dedicated group of professionals at the forefront of advocacy, research and service. The team is led by a passionate Executive Director who serves as a thought-leader, mentor and teacher for many in the nonprofit sector and beyond. The Lehigh Valley region is lucky to have this example of excellence, transparency and compassion within the community.
As a parent of a queer teen, Bradbury Sullivan has made a huge difference in our lives in the Lehigh Valley community. Thank you!
The Bradbury-Sullivan Center is an amazing organization to work with! The people are wonderful and their programs really make a difference, my family and I have found so much support through them!
Bradbury-Sullivan is a trusted and reputable organization, especially among the LGBTQ community of the Lehigh Valley. They offer so many free support services for the community including legal help and counseling. There are also so many amazing groups in the center that meet weekly. There's a great sense of community, everyone is really kind and helpful, and they really work hard for a more equitable community in the Lehigh Valley.
The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is a leader in providing services, programs, and community outreach for those underserved. They offer a wide range of health and wellbeing initiatives in addition to celebrating arts and culture. Their Executive Director is a champion for equity, a mentor for many, and a compassionate human being working to make an impact on the community.
Bradbury-Sullivan is a trusted organization that operates with integrity and transparency; they set the bar high and deliver consistently.
Review from Guidestar
Bradbury-Sullivan does amazing work for the community. They reach out to the community in many different ways, including lots of support groups, art galleries, and the most popular Pride event in the Lehigh Valley. Bradbury-Sullivan really helps LGBT people to connect with one another, and that is incredibly important for a marginalized group in need of social support and understanding. The events at Bradbury-Sullivan are always welcoming and wonderful!
Bradbury-Sullivan is an amazing nonprofit to work with. So happy I got the chance to get to know their wonderful staff!
Bradbury-Sullivan is such a welcoming place. I love their variety of events and social groups that caters to all. They have plenty of resources to help the community and they make you feel included.
I've been organizing the excellence of transgender, nonbinary and gender expansive stories for almost five years. The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center's ED Adrian Shanker's book, "Bodies & Barriers" has opened doors to so many learning opportunities. This center in Pennsylvania is one of the strongest entities that holds LGBTQIA together through a lens of art, health, wellbeing and community.
I highly encourage teams to invest in this organizations capacity to perform intuitive research, and identify resilience data that can lead to driving forward the improvement of services, programs and even products.
The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is a solid organization that serves an important population in our community. Their leadership, public policy efforts, focus on public health and wide range of offerings complement the organization's commitment to ethical and transparent financial accounting. Highly recommend.
An organization I look to for information, advocacy, connections and collaboration. So grateful for regional and statewide leadership from Bradbury Sullivan!
I found a lot of the resources provided here extremely supportive of me. Almost a home away from home :).
The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT center was the first place I was directed to after I began to transition as a transgender man. I gravitated to the cultural programs, like the vibrant art galleries and the lovely “Art and History from a Queer Perspective” classes. Every member of the staff is incredibly knowledgeable; I learn something new every day I have worked there. Their resources help LGBT people in the Lehigh Valley, but the resources they post online are also useful for people outside of the Valley. Professors at the college I attend have asked me to speak about the programs at our center, and students are always impressed and appreciative of the resources we have in our community, especially the health services.
I am truly fortunate and proud to have had the opportunity to work for the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Center. Cheers!
I have lived in several different states and cities over the past few years, and have had to rebuild my community of support numerous times as a result. Bradbury-Sullivan does a great job building community in a positive way and I am excited to have had the opportunity to be a part of it.
Few organizations I've encountered have had as great an impact on our community, both on an individual level and at scale, as Bradbury-Sullivan. Bradbury-Sullivan has not only created many practical, nuts-and-bolts programs that address nuanced, specific, unmet needs in various underserved groups, their highly effective advocacy ranges from the local and regional to state and federal, even to international levels. They live and breathe intersectionality in all of their work, and this lens also informs the work they do to mentor emergent groups that aspire to empower others as they do. And, perhaps most importantly, they serve as a welcoming, safe, empowering, joy-filled space/home base for so many LGBTQIA folks and their allies/accomplices here in the Lehigh Valley. Very grateful for all they do!
I came out when I was 13 in a place without any support. I had to find my own way, which was tough and lonely. I could have used a place like Bradbury-Sullivan for guidance and resources to make my journey a happier and healthier one! We need places like this for our community to thrive and connect.
Amazing place with great activities.
The exhibits are wonderful. Thank you for what you do in our community.
I was a visiting artist at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center this year and I am so blown way by the full spectrum of services they provide. During the week of my residency, I witnessed so many positive interactions between the staff and the community. I got to meet so many staff and board members and they were all delightful, committed, kind and motivated. I can't wait to return to the center. Their library is phenomenal! --Jacinta Bunnell, queerbookcommittee.com
The Bradbury-Sullivan center is an incredible wealth of knowledge, help and resources for the LGBTQ community of the Lehigh Valley and beyond. I have often wished that such a facility existed in my youth as having the resources available at the center makes the journey we all have in life much less of a struggle when there are folks to help you along the way. I have proudly donated and volunteered so that others might benefit from the array of services offered without question or judgement.
With the introduction of Lehigh Valley Pride under the direction of Bradbury-Sullivan, the community gets even more information and an introduction to the services offered by the center on a daily basis.
Watching the community embrace and grow with the center over the years of it's existence has been so rewarding as both a donor and a volunteer.
Here's to many more years of success!
I found the Bardbury-Sullivan Center in 2016 and I've been a volunteer ever since. The Bradbury Center has the best resources for the LGBTQ community in the Lehigh Valley! There are so many great programs for everyone under the LGBTQ umbrella. If you find yourself nearby, stop in and see all of the programs available. They have everything from support groups to movie nights and talks about art history. Give them a look.
Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Center is a gem of the Lehigh Valley, and beyond...people regularly call or come from all around the state (anywhere in between Phila and Pittsburgh) to access services from Bradbury. The legal clinic they run every month is something that I am not aware any other LGBT center actually does. And, the employees who work there are incredibly kind, compassionate, and I've never heard an unkind word from anyone. Truly the definition of a "safe" and "inclusive" space.
I'm a mature gay man who found myself in need of performing community service. I was having considerable difficulty finding volunteer work as a result of my gay status. Bradbury-Sullivan gave me a volunteer position, encouraged me to keep positive and even contacted a local branch of the ACLU for possible assistance with my case. The staff here has been professional ,positive and a real pleasure to work with. I continue to volunteer with this organisation and feel proud to be associated with this organization.
The Center is really the heart of our LGBT community in the Lehigh Valley. The programming available is creative and diverse, and the advocacy work being done at both the local and state level has been impactful. I am so grateful to have a respite and resource like the Bradbury-Sullivan Center.
As someone who has always been involved with LGBT awareness as well as being an actor / drag entertainer, I am so proud to support and work with The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. The professionalism, the services offered, the library, the programs.. everything is always on par. I was honored that they asked me to debut my chapter of Drag Queen Story Hour at their 2018 Pride and I’m excited to be working with them to bring the program to the Lehigh Valley on a regular basis. I highly recommend the center for any and all of the things that they stand for and offer the community.
I cannot say enough how important the work, that the Bradbury-Slivan center does, is for the community. The center actually saved my life last year. As a transgender woman, support is vital to someone who is transitioning, and I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship which allowed me to attend the Keystone conference last spring. It allowed me to attend sessions which helped me to learn more about who I was and to help me meet others, just like me, and to realize that I could actually start to transition, something that I desperately needed to do. Not being able to transition can be something very deadly to someone who is transgender, and by awarding me one of their scholarships, they quite literally saved my life and kept me from becoming a suicide statistic. Without the center, I would not be here today. I owe them my life.
In addition to directly serving the needs of LGBTQ clients, the Bradbury-Sullivan Center has proved to be a great source of education and inspiration to the entire Lehigh Valley Community. CEO Adrian Shanker and his team have hosted art shows, invited speakers that have addressed topics as diverse as scientific research, spirituality, and education. I am a straight member of the community and I have attended events at the Center and find them to be an invaluable part of our community. If you see an event of even remote interest at the Center, go! They bring in such high-quality people that you will not be disappointed.
The Bradbury-Sullivan Center holds amazing events to bring together the LGBTQ community of the Greater Lehigh Valley. I had the privilege of volunteering with them for their 2018 Allentown Pride event, which was a great way to bring together members of the LGBTQ community and celebrate our amazing history. Additionally, they continuously advocate for public policy that protects the rights of LGBTQ people and those living with HIV. If you need an advocate, The Bradbury-Sullivan Center is there for you.
The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center has a leadership team that is dedicated to making the community a better place. They have been an amazing organization to work with, and they have shown why they are one of the best nonprofits in the Lehigh Valley. They played a key role in helping us to get our first Pride Night at the Phantoms off the ground.
Do you know what I love about this organization...when I make a donation it changes the community from board games to DVDs to Cds I know am bringing joy to others. Plus I always get a thank you letter which makes me feel special. Thank you for running an amazing organization that helps others.
I can't begin to describe how important it is to me to know that there is an LGBT community center in Allentown that not only provides important services, but also advocates for the community by working to ban conversion therapy in PA cities. Excited to see their future work.
The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center is one of the best places for LGBT+ and their allies to go and connect, engage in community activist efforts, and attend events. The Center provides such a vast amount of resources to LGBT people living in the Lehigh Valley, a mostly rural region that needs the resources. Young individuals such as myself who have lack of access to helpful resources can find a place to go at the Center becauzlse it is affirming and open minded.
I also had the opportunity to intern here in the past for my undergraduate experience and the staff and people with whom I worked were exceptionally great teachers. I learned so much by being there and since then have directed people to visit the Center whenever they need specific resources, events are happening, or they want to get involved.
I have been so impressed with the commitment, passion, and vision of all those who have made the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center such a thriving organization. This community center fills a core need for the Lehigh Valley by providing services, programs, and resources for the LGBT community and beyond. I am thrilled to have Muhlenberg College's Trexler Library be an active partner, in particular by archiving a valuable collection of material integral to the historical preservation of the Lehigh Valley's LGBT history. I look forward to not only growing this partnership, but also to any new programs and services that the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center will offer.
Bradbury Sullivan LGBT Community Center offers a home for the LGBT community, their families, and their allies as well as opportunities for the arts, cultural enrichment, and health supports. The Center is a thriving, safe, supportive space for anyone who enters. Support them!
01/03/2018 I worked with Bradbury-Sullivan in an interesting capacity this year - as a farmer.
This incredible group of people is serving the Lehigh Valley in such an intimate, welcoming way, and their commitment to the health of the LGBT population is nothing short of admirable. We partnered together to offer healthy eating options through my organic CSA program this year, and I look forward to working with them in the future both with this project and with other aspects of their diverse and engaging programming.
The Bradbury Sullivan Center has been wonderful for me. I've taken part in some of the support groups available at the center, and made some really good friends through the groups. I've also attended a number of the events offered, from speakers to movies to game night, and always felt welcome and wanted. They've gone out of their way to make accommodations and make me feel seen at the center as a person with a disability. I'm so very grateful for the center and all they do for our community
The Bradbury-Sullivan Center is a crucial part of the Lehigh Valley community, and has definitely helped myself and others grow as people!
I am so grateful that Bradbury-Sullivan exists! As a queer millennial woman, I am energized and inspired by all the different kinds of work that Bradbury-Sullivan does -- from groundbreaking policy work and advocacy to providing support groups, trainings, youth spaces, and educational cultural events. It's a wonderful place to volunteer and get involved with the Lehigh Valley's dynamic LGBT+ community. I especially love the diversity of ages that Bradbury-Sullivan reaches; whether you are new to the community and/or have been fighting the good fight for a long time, there are spaces for you to connect and share yourself. Looking forward to being involved with Bradbury-Sullivan for a long time.
I am very impressed with the training programs provided by the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. They recently came to my local library to provide training on Transgender Awareness. The program was very informative and beneficial. I have also attended art exhibitions and other cultural programs.
In addition, as time permits, I volunteer at the center.

Aeshanker 01/02/2018
Pastor Mike - we are so glad you have found our trainings, including the one at your local library, to be informative and beneficial. We hope to see you at the center soon!
I am so pleased to be offering this review of the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. As a trans woman I have not only enjoyed their cultural programming but the support programs that they have offered. Whether it is a film, a gallery showing, a support meeting or a lobbying event there is something of interest happening there.
Their staff is always there to listen and lend a helping hand. With this in mind, they have significantly expanded their trans-related programming to include a support group for the parents of trans kids, for trans masculine people as well as for trans women. The Center also sponsored two Transgender Day of Remembrance Ceremonies, an informational tent at several local Pride festivals and scholarships for trans people to attend conferences.
Perhaps the most memorable achievement that I was pleased to support the Center with this past year were their efforts to work with the City of Allentown on a new ordinance that bans the use of conversion therapy by healthcare providers. This is a significant achievement and just one example of the good work the Center does.

Aeshanker 01/02/2018
Corinne - We are so glad you have found enjoyment through our cultural programs and more! We hope to see you soon at the center!
The Bradbury-Sullivan Center is an outstanding non-profit that provides a sense of pride and ownership, not only in oneself, but in the community as well. I appreciate all of the experiences BSC provides the community, including art, music, literature and an inclusive safe space where everyone is free to be themselves.

Aeshanker 01/02/2018
Ian - we're so glad you have found a sense of pride and community ownership at our center. We love our volunteers! We hope to see you at The Center again soon!
I started volunteering with them as they were getting ready to open. They are such friendly folks! The Center has so many needed programs. Some of my favorites are the Infoline, the library, health services, and free legal clinic. Totally worth checking this place out, you won't regret it!

Aeshanker 01/02/2018
We are so glad you have found our library, health programs, and legal clinic to be serving important community needs. We hope to see you soon at The Center!
The Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center has accomplished so much in such a short time! Buying and renovating space. Initiating on-site programming. Continuing outreach. Programming is broad and relevant to the community. I can't wait to see how the organization matures. I have volunteered time and professional skills, donating in-kind and otherwise to the Center, because I admire their vision and energy and care about the cause.
Great place. I am an advisor fo r a local youth support group and I often take my students to the center for events. Now that they have a youth oriented drop in after school program my students have a place to go that is safe on days we don't meet. I am so thankful for this.

Aeshanker 02/05/2017
We are so glad that our youth drop in program, Project SILK Lehigh Valley, has already had such a positive impact on your students! We hope to see you, and them, at The Center soon!
I am very happy and excited to be a part of this organization. To see it go from an idea to a well run community center has been a real treat.
The Bradbury-Sullivan offers a myriad of programs and services for Allentown residents who have historically been underserved in our community. In addition, the special events they present are reaching a broader community, expanding understanding and celebrating the great diversity of our community. ED Adrian Shanker deserves immense credit for launching the center, cultivating hundreds of community volunteers and for advancing the vision of this new, important organization. Thank you!
The Bradbury-Sullivan center is one of the most amazing places I've ever been to. They offer so many valuable resources for the community, and all of the people that work there are so kind.

Aeshanker 02/04/2017
We are glad you have found the resources we offer at The Center to be valuable! We hope to see you at The Center soon!
This organization has been very open to our community and extremely helpful with the different issues we face.

Aeshanker 02/04/2017
Basilio - we're glad you've found our center to be an open and helpful space for our community! We hope to see you at The Center soon!
I am grateful for the Bradbury Sullivan Center for being there in my time of need. I don't know what I am, I think somewhat non-gender conforming, but they are welcoming no matter if you are cisgender, gay, bi, trans, whatever you are! I needed some guidance on signing up for healthcare this year and they had an ACA Navigator at the Center who was very helpful. I love Bradbury-Sullivan!

Aeshanker 02/04/2017
Anne - we are glad that you have felt welcome as you are when you come to our center - that's certainly our goal! And we're also glad that you were able to receive support from one of our ACA Enrollment events. We hope to see you at the Center again soon!
Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center connected me to the local LGBT community unlike anything I had experienced before it's creation. As a volunteer I got invaluable skills in working with nonprofits and truly got to see my hard work pay off in the community. The health initiatives taken by the center are truly needed considering the lack of information LGBT persons receive about staying healthy. Bradbury-Sullivan integrates the advocacy and resources the LGBT community needs with the programming and connections LGBT persons want. I cannot wait to see what further innovative programs the center brings to the Lehigh Valley.

Aeshanker 02/04/2017
We are glad that your volunteer experience with our center was one where you learned new skills! We love our volunteers and are always happy to know that it's a mutually beneficial experience!
The bradbury-Sullivan center is a light of hope for the LGBTQ . Great programs for all of us. The people who work and volunteer for them are the sweetest

Aeshanker 02/04/2017
We are really glad you have found our team of employees and volunteers to be the sweetest. We try hard to always be there for the community!
I'm so great full to have this center. I have received so much support and help and education its just wonderful . the staff is remarkably informed and professional and show much love . I use a number of programs since the centers opening and it has made a great change in my life. I truly would not know where I would be in my life if it were not for the center and its wonderful programs. I recommend all people come and check out the center and see what it has to offer. .

Aeshanker 02/04/2017
Hollis - we are so glad that the programs and services we offer have been so wonderful for you. We hope to see you at the Center again soon!
I am so proud that the Lehigh Valley has the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. With one of the largest LGBT+ populations in the state, our metro area is served with a broad and deep range of programs and services by this center. From HIV testing to support groups, educational seminars to cultural events, and even just as a place to gather and call home. In just a short time the Bradbury-Sullivan Center has emerged as a true home for the LGBT community and has also begun to establish itself as a state-wide leader in LGBT health programs. So proud of the awesome work of the Center!
Since it's opening last year, the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT center has become a cultural hub of the Lehigh Valley. The center is a place like no other, and caters to the diverse needs of the community. Whether you need advice on adoption, a non-judgmental HIV screening, or just a place to meet and connect with other members of the LGBT community, the Bradbury-Sullivan center is there for you. The library is extensive, and the art galleries run rotating shows on a frequent basis. The center also has a new dedicated space for youth programming and large meeting spaces for groups of all kinds. I could not imagine being a part of a better organization. As a parent of a LGBT child, there are few places where I can find answers to my many questions, and there are few places where my child can truly be their-self. I look forward to seeing the center grow over the next few years!
Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center provides much-needed education and support to the LGBT community in the Lehigh Valley. The staff and directors are professional, committed, and incredibly hard-working. This organization makes the most of every dollar and offers a truly amazing number and variety of programs given their modest budget.

Aeshanker 02/04/2017
We are so glad that the education and support we are providing is helpful and appreciated, and we've been very grateful for your support as a donor to our organization!
Aeshanker 01/02/2018
Hannah - We are so glad you have been energized by our work and found our center to be a wonderful place to volunteer! We hope to see you soon at the center!
