The LAMB Foundation has been a faithful supporter of our mission of loving, living and learning for the differently able for over 15 years. Holy Angels is a nonprofit 501c3 residential facility in Belmont, NC that provides specialized round-the-clock care for children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities and delicate medical conditions. The LAMB Foundation, as well as the individual Knights of Columbus Councils, have dedicated their prayers and support to assisting us in providing the highest level of care for those we are privileged to serve. They have provided funding for adaptive equipment, mechanical lifts and transportation to name a few. They have always been eager to have their members come tour, learn more about our mission and develop a mutually beneficial partnership with our agency - because both Holy Angels and the LAMB Foundation strive to serve "the least of these" in all that we do.
The Lamb Foundation has supported my Special Needs Classroom for the past several years by funding community involvement opportunities and purchasing needed items for the classroom. We are truly grateful for all they do to assist individuals with disabilities in our community.
The foundation is very focused on delivering Quality of Life grants to agencies supporting those with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities. Organizationally, It is an all volunteer group, no one receives a salary. The grant process is very straight forward and is primarily focused at providing funding for local community efforts. As a board member for the O'Berry Foundation the LAMB Foundation has for years provided funds to improve the lives of many individuals in need.
L.A.M.B. is a great organization that helps people with intellectual disabilities. The Special Olympics is on the organizations supported by L.A.M.B. Very little of the monies collected to to nonprofit overhead. The vast majority of the funds go to those organizations like Special Olympics that need the support. As a Knight of Columbus (Grand Knight for Council 13488, MCAS New River) I stand outside the local Golden Corral for several hours once a quarter collecting for OP L.A.M.B.
I am the Grand Knight, Knights Of Columbus Council 13488. The Council collects for Operation L.A.M.B. four time per year (once per quarter) because of the great work of the LAMB Foundation.
I have seen the results of LAMB in action. The help and assistant in give to those with intellectual disability. The extra help that is given to NC Special Olympic and to schools is credited to the men of the Knights of Columbus.
I have been involved with LAMB Foundation of North Carolina for the past 8 years and can honestly say that when I tell people what Lambs about and how the donations are distributed they are impressed by the way this charity is handled. I plan to stay involved with LAMB as long as possibl.
Project LAMB is a great program. They have supported our program Hopes N Dreams for over 7 years We support children and adults intellectual challenged and disabled an our Wounded Warriors. Because of project LAMB an there donation we are able to continue our summer camps, dances, Hooked On Fishing, social events an more. With out Projecr LAMB donation we could not offer these programs at little to no cost to our special needs population. Project LAMB is very important to our community. We are proud that they are part of our family. We are adding a picture of our childrens Christmas party for our toddlers to 12 year olds. With the help from the LAMB foundation we could off this event at a cost of a Big Smile. One of many events we have though out the year. Thank you LAMB foundation we love you all.
My name is Danielle George. I am an exceptional children teacher at Hobbton High School. I teach students with disabilities from grades 9 - 12 in all educational areas (self -contained classroom setting). Operation LAMB has helped my classroom tremendously. This fantastic group has sponsored my classroom with learning opportunities for my students in the community. For example, we were able to attend outings (also named Sampson County Champions Program) with other students with disabilities in the county to activities like bowling, movies, etc. These outings are teachable moments for students that others may take for granted. Without Operation LAMB sponsorship, these outings would be costly for my students. Thank you Operation LAMB for all you do!
Such friendly and awesome men! They were more than willing to explain their charity and where the donation was going.
Great job, guys!
The LAMB Foundation is a very big help to many places providing care for people with special needs. Their support is vital and always comes with a smile.
I have visited two residential centers that LAMB contributes to. Just mention the LAMB Foundation and the smiles on the staff tells all. Having given checks from LAMB to several teachers of special needs children, I have seen for myself how this helps. A great organization run by great people!
I've witnessed first hand how the LAMB Foundation of NC has benefited the special needs population of Haywood County N.C. Having a special needs son myself I can testify that financial struggles can compound the challenges of improving everyday life for special needs children and adults. The LAMB Foundation has help financially to the educational and social networks of our child's life and these contributions have made a dramatic difference in the quality of assistance. I encourage the public to donate the change in your pockets to the Knights of Columbus when you see them at public festivals and church fairs holding out the very familiar yellow LAMB drive jars. Your small donations make a huge difference!
seeing 70+ local Special Ed Teachers , local Special Olympic Programs and expanded associated programs enabled through distribution of Lamb Program Grants, makes the many hours the program volunteers work very rewarding.
Have observed LAMB Foundation over the years as they support Special Education classes in my community, as well as Special Olympics and other programs to support those with intellectual disabilities. As the grandparent of a child with Down Syndrome, this strikes very close to my heart.
I have been volunteering with LAMB for the past three years. It is one of the most worthwhile charities that I am involved with. The stories that the local teachers deliver at the annual fish fry that our Council hosts, brings tears to the eyes of those in attendance. One teacher actually used her funds to purchase a rug, so that her students would not have to sit on a cold floor.
Other teachers purchase learning tools for their intellectually challenged students. I bring my grandchildren with me to pass out tootsie rolls on some occasions. The experience provides bonding between family members and also teaches young children how to give of themselves in order to assist those less fortunate.
I love that this charity is virtually zero overhead with 100% volunteer staffing. Best of all, the money stays local so you know who it's helping.
As a member of the Knights of Columbus, I had the opportunity to visit the Caswell Developmental Center in Kinston, NC. I would recommend anyone to visit the center. It is heart breaking to see the individuals but very heart warming knowing the Knights of Columbus devote their time and money to the center.
As a past LAMB Director for my council, I have conducted many LAMB fund collections. I personally know how important the collections are for LAMB. As a LAMB Director I lead my council to be number in the State of NC. It was an honor I will always cherish because I know how much it means to the LAMB Organization. I continue to donate money to LAMB so that it will always help the less fortunate.
The LAMB Organization deserves more credit for their efforts to help the less fortunate.
Awesome charity. Little administrative costs. You've seen us out there. Everyone is a volunteer. Funds collected go to local charities from where they are collected.
Fantastic ! Great to work with- Easy, Quick thinking, Tons of Volunteers
When you find in your Heart the need to help a Child who can only say "Thank You" with a smile it brightens up your Day.
Helping a Child with Special Needs can tenderly touch your heart. Words can not express the Joy but sometimes the tears of happiness can melt your heart.
Volunteering with LAMB provides the voice for those who can not speak. The Schools and Agencies that accept the loving volunteers do so with pride and excitement.

Children with mental handicaps need a lot of help. Unfortunately, our school systems can only give so much. Donating money to the local school system has a great impact - the teachers are so grateful for the financial help.
Attached is a Facebook post from Nichole Smith, teacher at Holmes High School in Edenton.
Each year, OP LAMB changes the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Their efforts have touched the lives of thousands over the years. Bringing a smile to those in need.
Every year the LAMB foundation helps provide additional resources to special needs classrooms right in our own community! The teachers in these programs are better able to access furniture and teaching materials that are suited to meet their learning and behavioral needs. This continues to be a very important program that benefits everyone!
