Mission: To manage the licensing of kodi, open source software. Educate the public about kodi and open source software. Encourage the community to further develop kodi.
Programs: Kodi organized and paid for the largested kodi developers conference of all time in fall of 2017. 40 team members attended, which is close to double the average attendance. Additionally several supporting groups like flirc and vlc attended and gave presentations about how kodi might work with those groups in the future.
kodi organized and paid for a unique spring kodi developers conference this year with 30 team members, arranging travel, room, board, and conference space for 4 days.
kodi made a decision to speak at and attend more conferences in 2017, so in addition to ces, the google summer of code mentors summit, and the sflc fall conference, team members went to embedded linux conference usa and eu, the open source leadership summit, microsoft build, videolan dev days, product camp, and more.
