Mission: To provide assistance to the needy and less fortunate; to organize plan, prepare manage and implement the annual philippine independence day celebration in southern california; to raise funds to finance the anniversary celebration philippine independence day, and for charitable projects of the corporation; and to foster unity camaraderie among filipino-american residents in southern california.
Programs: Kalayaan incorporated is dedicated in promoting the preservation of philippinehistory and culture by organizing and managing the annual philippine independence day celebration. It has been involved with charitable and civic projects; such as feeding the needy and poor street children, assisting victims ofcalamities and natural disasters and supporting amateur sports competition. Ithelped build the jose p. Rizal monument in the city of carson thru its donation tothe jose p. Rizal monument movement. The monument has become the proudbeacon for the filipino american community and is dedicated to honor the philippine's national hero, dr. Jose p. Rizal and his great influence on the filipinosin achieving their independence from spain through peaceful means.
