education and advanced training for experienced surgeons: the clinic offers advanced post-graduate training for experienced surgeons. This is advanced training for physicians who have been in practice for several years but who are rarely given the opportunity to receive hands-on training to update their surgical skills or to develop new skills. The clinic provides didactic education for nurse practitioner students and nursing school faculty at the nell hodgson woodruff school of nursing at emory university. This instruction provides the students and faculty with standard of care urologic information necessary for their academic and professional careers. The clinic mentors biomedical engineering students at the georgia institute of technology. This provides a clinical and practical experience for these students prior to them formally entering the profession.
