My name is Avah Allen. I received the Live Healthy and Thrive scholarship as a high school senior last year. This organization plays an active part in the community, ensuring that children in school are properly educated about how to make being healthy a lifestyle. I am grateful to have received this scholarship and been given the chance to represent this amazing organization. This scholarship meant a lot to my family and me because it contributed towards the goal I have for myself of paying for my secondary schooling without taking out student loans. Not only was I granted a scholarship, a beautiful reception was held to acknowledge the scholarship winners, along with the recipients of the organization's trailblazer award. I felt invested in and welcomed into the healthy and thriving family.

I was one of the recipients of the $2,000 Live Healthy and Thrive Youth Foundation Scholarship. I am thankful for the opportunity to apply and to be awarded the scholarship. I was able to pay a portion of tuition and purchase my books for the fall semester. The scholarship has decreased the financial burden on my mother greatly who has three children in college. Thank you for leading by example and giving back to the community.

The Live Healthy and Thrive Youth Foundation awarded my daughter with a $2,000 scholarship. The scholarship was instrumental in assisting to pay for my daughters college tuition, books and fees. The scholarship assisted in decreasing my daughter's student loan debt, and alleviated the additional financial hardship that it would have placed on me as a single parent. I am truly grateful for the opportunities that this scholarship has provided for my daughter. Thank you so much!

The Live Healthy and Thrive Youth Foundation awarded my son with a scholarship for college to attend Georgia State University. As the graduating Salutatorian of his class, the organization supplied him with the money to purchase his books for his entire first year. The experience was meaningful to not only my son, but my entire family. We were able to meet and interact with other students and their families who had worked hard to be great scholars in high school and gave back to their community. The entire experience meant so much to us. Live Healthy is a great organization that we are fortunate to be a part of!

I had the opportunity to participate in an awards ceremony in which this youth-based foundation awarded young people for their contributions to the community. It was quite impressive to see the amount of work that Lori Manns, and her staff put into the community and its youth. For example, I remember seeing how the foundation built a garden for children to plant vegetables and maintain it. I've volunteered with LH&T for a few years now and their out reach to help the youth build healthier minds and bodies is amazing.

Last year I had the opportunity to attend the 2020 Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala and I was impressed and overwhelmed with joy to see students walking away with scholarships. The live Healthy and thrive youth foundation has given me the opportunity to be one their recipients and help me out with my first year of college. They have been very kind and helpful to students like me and as well as kids. They are a great non-profit foundation to work with and know about.

This organization has done some amazing work with the Youth in the community. They host great annual summer camp programs to teach nutrition, they also award scholarships to children annually to give them a great start for college and the president of the organization is very passionate in ensuring that the need of their constituents are met!

My daughter really enjoyed this program, She participated in the fitness tracker program it was great to be part of this positive experience. She enjoyed being able to track her steps and calories during school hours, along with dance practices, 5k training for Girls on the Run and other activities she did daily.

I have followed this non-profit organization since its inception. Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation is making a big difference in the community. They host 5K events to encourage families to get fit and exercise together. They build gardens in schools. They host camps to teach kids about wellness. They give scholarships to high school students for college. Simply put, this non-profit is changing lives for the better in the Atlanta area.

I participated in a 5K for the first time with LHTYF. It was a great day to gather the community and be active! We provided snacks, a ton of health education, activities for the kids and fun! I'm proud of the work we do and know we are making Health Matter!!!

This is a fantastic Atlanta-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that truly cares about the well-being of the children in our community. The organization is very active in the community with retailers and partnerships to promote healthy lifestyles for the entire family. Most recently, LHTYF partnered with Sevananda to promote the Unite for Healthy Kids 5K Walk and Run, which was great. LHTYF encourages families and children to engage in physical exercise and healthy eating habits as a family unit which builds life-long healthier habits.

Additionally, we just finished the Healthy Kids Summer Camp program that provides kids with interactive health lessons including cooking demonstrations, fitness routines, and wellness exercises. What a fantastic educational health-focused program focused on reducing obesity, diabetes, and risk of heart disease.

I was awarded the 2018 live healthy and thrive scholarship and it was an honor. Not only is the program and it's mission notable, but the application process was unique and proved how important service and education is for this non profit. I will remain eternally greatful for the scholarship.

Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation Inc is an "A Plus" nonprofit doing much needed work in the Atlanta Metro Community. I have worked with them many times and I can tell you they are one of most professional organizations to work with. The most important thing is how they teach the Kids how to grow their food. Creating the gardens give kids further insight on what it takes to get food to the table. This also gives a children other ideas about careers they want to venture into. This organization is phenomenal. Live Healthy and Thrive came to our summer camp and taught the students how to live healthier and positive lives. The volunteers were very professional, friendly and patient while working with the campers. They provided learning opportunities for all of the campers ranging from ages 5 to 12. The campers were amazed at their learning experiences. Their parents were asking about the program due to the impact it left on the campers. I look forward to working with this organization again.

I am a fitness professional Tiffiny, and I volunteered with LHTYF by teaching a fitness class with one of their participating schools. I really enjoyed working with the kids and had so much fun working with Lori Manns, the president of LHTYF. The kids were excited and it also helped promote the idea that physical activity and healthy eating can be a positive experience. I will continue to promote and help LHTYF in order to make sure the children of our community live a high quality and amazing life.

We are an elementary school in metro Atlanta with a group of teachers desperately wanting to start a science club and garden club. We applied for the grant from Live Healthy and Thrive Youth Foundation and received it this year. Can I say AMAZING? This foundation gave us an amazing garden that students were able to help plant. Our students were able to transfer their classroom instruction outside to the planting of a garden and are still able to transfer learning through the maintenance of the garden. This was a priceless opportunity for our students! We can't wait for our crops to be ready and for our students to experience the "fruit" of their hard work and learning!!! Thanks LHTYF!!!!!

I first became aware of this organization a couple of years ago when I attended a walk that they did for the youth and bringing awareness. And was very impressed with the way it was put together and the how the organizer truly cares about better healthy living for youth & families. Earlier this month, I volunteered with LH&TYF in order to plant up some vegetable gardens for a local Decatur school. It was an honor to be a part of trying to bring awareness to children about where their food comes from.

LHTYF is a dynamic foundation which is well respected in metropolitan Atlanta area. The goals of the organization are laudable, to encourage healthy habits among the future leaders of society, but they are also practical as well. These are achievable goals in a short span of time as opposed to some other projects which take years to come to fruition. By changing the lifestyle habits one youngster at a time, LHTYF directly affects the quality of the lives of their target audience for years to come.

Through the Pinnacle Youth Scholarship Fund, LHTYF is giving hope to high school students who want to go to college and become doctors, scientists, teachers, etc. I proudly donate my time and talent to this organization because not only are they helping to save children's lives by educating them about how to live healthy and strong, they are also helping to create future leaders of tomorrow.

As a board member of the Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation (LHTYF) I am proud of the contributions this young, progressive and productive organization have made in the lives of Atlanta’s underserved children. Our programs educate, inspire and assist children (and their families) with living and eating better, and taking better care of their bodies. It’s so rewarding to see children learning healthy principles and then have them share with us how they are actually practicing what they’ve learned! It’s also rewarding to help great students with their college education expenses. LHTYF is committed to continuing this important work and positively impacting our community for many years to come. I am pleased to be a part of it.

Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation, Inc., is a great non-profit organization changing the lives of children in the Atlanta area. As a volunteer for this organization I have seen the positive impact of programs such as the "Gardens are for Kids" and the "Healthy Kids Summer Camp" empower children to begin healthier habits. Educating children early about healthy foods and fitness equips them with tools necessary to lead healthier lives. It gives me great pleasure to see the excitement on children's faces and the joy of learning how to plant, grow and harvest healthy foods. I hope that Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation continues to get community support so they can keep up this awesome and important work.

Since moving to Atlanta last year, I have actively been trying to find ways to get involved with the community. In speaking to the director and founder of this organization, her passion for helping our youth change their lives through healthy eating practices encouraged me to join immediately and continue to help spread her and my passion to others. I have enjoyed being apart of LHTYF and love seeing the impact it has made in the Atlanta community. I only hope for bigger and better outreach for this organization and pray that more youth and parents will get involved in being advocates for healthy eating practices and exercise. I have been a volunteer with this organization and have seen first hand the positive impact LHTYF has had in the Atlanta area with children who need to develop healthy lifestyle habits. It is very fulfilling to volunteer for an organization that values the future well being of our youth. Obesity and diabetes are real issues that this organization is trying to address to help our children.
