Programs: The j. F. Shea therapeutic riding center, inc. (the shea center), home of the fran joswick therapeutic riding program, is a nonprofit california corporation, organized in 1979. The shea center provides therapeutic riding and equine assisted therapy, which are medically recognized forms of therapeutic intervention for a number of disabilities. The shea center's clients have cognitive or physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, down syndrome, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord or head injuries, and autism. The shea center has partnerships with other service organizations and local school districts, and is also an international training facility for the industry.
