Mission: Intercambio uniting communities' mission is to improve immigrant lives through english education, and unite communities across cultures.
Programs: Each year intercambio serves 1,000+ adult immigrants with english classes taught by 400+ volunteers at 200 immigrant homes and public facilities; resource workshops and courses on finances, culture, business, computers, and citizenship; and intercultural events including weekly dance classes, park cleanups and camping trips. At the university of colorado, 120 university students are teaching individual english classes to immigrant workers on campus. Intercambio's programs have been replicated in all fifty states of the us.
intercambio developed a practical and comprehensive guidebook titled: the immigrant guide, what every immigrant needs to know. The guidebook is published in 8 languages and is sold nationally. Intercambio also developed an english curriculum that covers 12 levels of accomplishment and is used by teachers of english around the united states. During the 2016/17 fiscal year, intercambio sold over 28,000 copies of the guide. And curriculum to a diverse group of schools, foundations, and businesses throughout the world.
