As a first time audience member, I was blown away by the level of professional quality performance this orchestra gave during their most recent concert earlier this month on Oct. 5, 2019. I was invited by my friend who is not exactly a "classical music" lover in the traditional sense, but he assured me I would not be disappointed. How right he was! This is definitely one of Temecula's cultural gems, and I am delighted to see that our city has an orchestra that we can be proud of. I will be bringing MY friends to their next concerts. I encourage everyone to do the same too!

The Temecula Valley Symphony is an amazing opportunity for culture and true entertainment in the Temecula valley. Their outreach program, The Temecula Valley Youth Symphony, allows young musicians to experience playing great music by great composers, in a positive, supportive setting. A real contribution to the community!

I am an amateur volunteer musician with the orchestra and the treasurer of the organization. Since playing the violin has become an avocation, I treasure being able to play with this orchestra; the quality and variety of music presented constantly challenges and amazes me. I love that our conductors are not only professional and very knowledgeable thereby helping us musicians increase our own skills but also engage the audience in a fun and educational way so they have a better understanding and appreciation of the music being performed. In spite of the professional quality of all the concerts, ticket prices remain affordable for most. We also have an excellent youth orchestra program; with outstanding and patient directors and coaches, students are being groomed to be fine musicians. Then there is a dedicated group of men and women who make up a chorus that sings with the orchestra at a couple of the concerts during each season and perform it's own stand-alone concerts which are invariable sold out attesting to their excellence as well. So...what's not to love about Temecula Valley Symphony? It is an organization well worth everyone's generous support.

Who would think the geographical area of Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee and other neighboring cities would be able to experience a top-notch symphony orchestra in their backyard? Temecula Valley Symphony does just that, whether you are more into classical or pops, a mixture of choral with symphony, a full blown youth organization encompassing a beginning string program, junior group and senior group (these kids seem to get better every year), along with very strong Maestro and Concertmaster! Also the ticket pricing is so reasonable (between $15 and $30) that you can easily bring the whole family to experience the wonder of music. I taught music for many years in the public school system and I know I would have loved to have this symphony local to me so that I could bring my students to concerts, enriching their musical education!

My son was growing up and had very limited access to the arts. I started taking him to concerts performed by the Temecula Valley Symphony.
He loved the concerts and began to show an interest in music and learned some pieces on the piano. He really enjoyed playing and this improved his self confidence and self-esteem.
I also enjoyed taking him to the concerts and we enjoyed the performances together. It is a very nice family activity and it is educational as well. I eventually volunteered to become a board member, and it has become very fulfilling to promote the arts in the community.
Attended a concert. Was blown away by professionalism of the orchestra and the spoken educational pieces provided by the conductors. Wide range of types of music--classical and contemporary. Beautifully done. Auditorium was accessible. Parking easy. Ticket prices more than reasonable. Fabulous way to spend an afternoon. Take your friends and family!
We have been season ticket holders for many years and look forward to each new season with great anticipation. We especially enjoy the variety of music presented including the many guest artists and the joint concerts with the chorus. We highly recommend the Temecula Valley Symphony to anyone that wants to experience professional quality music at affordable ticket prices.
This Symphony is the best, the music is always wonderful and each concert is well planned out. The musicians are first class and dedicated. The Maestro is amazing and Alana Joos who puts it all together is one of the best.
I enjoy every performance that I attend. What this symphony needs is someone to build a BOWL for them to perform like the Hollywood Bowl as they are that good and one of the best kept secrets around.
I constantly tell my friends that this is the place to SHOWUP and when they do they always thank me for telling them how wonderful the symphony is and they agree so don't miss out SHOW UP and get your tickets you will be glad you did I know I am glad. No matter what your age this is the place to be.

My sons joined the youth orchestra in this Symphony's seventeenth season. We've been involved ever since, spreading the word so that Southwest Riverside can have its own thriving classical music scene. We're very lucky, too, that the leadership here allows my sons to participate in not just the youth program, but also permits them to play alongside professional musicians in the adult symphony as well. My guess is not a lot of organizations would do this level of nurturing. I also like the breadth of their programming: they put on amazing pops orchestra shows, as well as orchestral rock shows...It's not just hours of stuffy classical music. Upon hearing them for the first time, you'll be floored to discover that you're listening to an orchestra made up almost exclusively of volunteers! Very professional quality!
From the beginning of my long involvement (since 2008) with the Temecula Valley Symphony, I was in awe of the caliber and dedication of the fabulous musicians, volunteers and staff who make this organization hum. In particular, Ms. Alana Joos, now the Managing and Artistic Director, who has been the heart and soul of the group and, among others, the driving force in its amazing growth.
It has been my own, very personal goal, to make sure that every citizen in the Inland Valley becomes aware of the gift of music that exists in their own back yard. The Symphony has been called the crown jewel of our vibrant arts community and it continues to amaze each new patron who discovers the world-class music it unfailingly presents at each concert.
The City of Temecula has taken note as well, and now provides 3 city-sponsored concerts each season. The Symphony Board of Directors continues to grow in number and enthusiastic support, adding those with legal, financial, musical, and business expertise. Three years ago, we established a Symphony League to support our 60-plus volunteer musicians by helping fund an account via opportunity baskets offered at each concert, providing a small stipend for each musician at Christmas. The League also seeks in-kind donations from local businesses to provide a lunch for the musicians on long-concert days.
In the interest of education and outreach, the Temecula Valley Symphony includes the Temecula Valley Youth Symphony, Junior Youth Symphony and Beginning Strings! Many of the adult symphony musicians are the teachers and mentors of youth in our community; those who represent the future of music in the Valley.
In 2016, the Symphony established The Symphony Chorus, adding 40 to 50 more musicians to the organization who enhance the music offering at two of the 5-6 season concerts, as well as performing their own stand-alone chorus concerts twice a year.
I have been proud to serve as a community ambassador, Secretary to the Board of Directors, League President and now Member-at-Large on the Board. I also served as the primary graphic designer for 6 seasons starting with the 2013-2014 season. It is always a joyful task to promote this amazing organization in every way possible.
As we are in our 25th Anniversary season, it is my privilege to also assist in the planning of our grand celebration and fund raiser in April 2020. This will be a landmark occasion which we hope will generate funding, bring new community awareness and also eager patrons and sponsorships. The long-range goal would be to find that singular person or group who will build a concert hall, which will serve not only the Symphony, but also become a venue for other performing arts in the Valley.
Sincerely, Nancy VandenBerg
This is a great organization! My 7th grade cellist and my third grade violinist love the program! I never have to bug them about practicing because the music is so fun and they love their instructor/conductors! I love that their rehearsals are at the same time right next door to each other! I can't believe how much their skills have advanced since we began just under a year ago. So much more fun than just playing in recitals with their regular teacher. Great group of kids too!
The Temecula Valley Symphony one of many gems of Southwest Riverside County. Most of the musicians volunteer their time and talents to play a few concerts each season. Over 25 years, the symphony has grown into a solid group of artists and management who possess a shared commitment to the further growth and development of the Symphony.
Inland Valley Symphony is a great way for musical expression. It is a community group with levels of all ages and levels. With our new Conductor, and the help of the wonderful musicians in the group, we hold 4 concert series per year. We hope to encourage more participation, and have more funding to hold our concerts in great venues, and hire amazing soloists. The community is well represented, and I am happy to be a part of the orchestra.
The Inland Valley Symphony is an active community symphony based in Temecula, CA. In addition to the symphony's concert schedule, members of the group participate in various school and community outreach programs. The service provided to schools includes coaching and participation in various school music programs.
