Mission: In his steps international (ihsi) is an international christian organization which trains, equips, encourages, and empowers the saints for works of service, with the purpose of building up of the body of christ. Ihsi was founded to teach and mobilize the body of christ worldwide, enhancing spiritual growth, promoting worldwide evangelism, and strengthening christian leaders. The ministry deals with matters of discipleship, relationship, and the hearts of the people god has called us to work with. Ultimately whether dealing with orphans, widows, youth, the poor, the elderly, or government leaders, our goal is to walk in love. Our ministry programs involve leadership training, short-term teams, pastoral care, micro-enterprise opportunities for the impoverished, rural relief and development, and caring for orphans and widows.
Programs: The children in father's house are making progress academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. As of 2017, most now attend a private school, one remains in public school and one is in sak saum vocational training program part-time. In addition to their normal studies and spiritual education, this past year there were many great learning opportunities for father's house.
in 2017 sak saum continued to provide housing (as needed), food, medical/dental assistance, transportation, education (khmer literacy and english classes), fair-trade salaries, and counseling/mentoring with the goal of inner healing, positive changes in the family dynamic, increased life skills, and empowerment to lead healthy, productive lives. Also provided is childcare for infant-preschool aged children of program participants, expanding from one location for the urban program base to add an additional childcare program at our rural vocational training center. Sak saum provided many opportunities for program participants to become active in their community in 2017 through caring for sick/elderly villagers, church involvement, cultural arts performances, anti-trafficking events and community development projects. Brother's house, a vocational program for exploited, addicted, formerly-incarcerated, and at-risk young men in the saang community. Brother's house program participants receive holistic care like other sak saum programs, but their vocational training is more focused in areas such as metal-working, wood-working and pineapple fiber fabric production.
loaves and fish continued support of orphans and widows in the community by providing food, hygiene supplies, educational supplies, school uniforms, and medical assistance, all on a need-basis. Many of the loaves and fish program participants are learning to become contributing members of the community through involvement in church programs, organized sports at our campus and educational programs. Study groups, counseling, and mentoring is also available to them as needed.
