Hunter College High School Alumnae I Association Inc

Programs: Grants to the high school:in fiscal year 2017, the hchsaa, through its grants program, provided financial support to the high school for new office furniture for the counseling department; funds for faculty and students to attend diversity conferences and the diversity awareness initiative; support for the hallways/freedom institute program; additional hours for the high school psychology consultant; continuing support for the visiting artist series and robotics team; funds to complete the renovation of the math resource center and teachers office; a kuta software site license for the math department; replacement of a studio upright piano for the music department; a new rock climbing wall for the athletics department, and the purchase of an lcd projector, whiteboard, and a uv sanitizing goggle cabinet for the biology lab.

alumni services:in fiscal year 2017 the association organized nine events for alumni, including two theater performances followed by a private talk-back; a museum tour; the annual autumn reception with a film screening; two author's book readings; a tour of the supreme court in washington dc followed by a dinner; and reunion weekend, encompassing the general assembly, annual softball game, tour of the central park conservancy garden, an alumni track meet and other events. During this period the aa also hosted a family open house at the school, maintained its online alumni directory and website (www. Hchsaa. Org), published two issues of alumnotes, and emailed twelve monthly e-newsletters.

n fy17 the aa launched hunterconnects, a platform that makes it easier for hchs students and alumnae/i to connect for internships, jobs, career advice, and referrals. Alumnae/i were submitted internship and job opportunities for the and alumni were able to view the postings and profiles about each other, and apply, connect, and/or refer each other to these and other opportunities.
