Programs: Historic takoma inc's (hti) education activities promote an appreciation of community history and of historic and cultural resources, including the buildings of two historic districts. Programs include a newsletter, website, walking tours, newspaper columns, exhibits and speakers, and providing advice on local history and preservation issues.
the annual hti house and garden tour educates the public about the historical and architectural heritage of our community and encourages preservation activity.
hti's building in the takoma park historic district houses a community archive and headquarters building for educational programs. A recent restoration effort was intended to educate the public regarding the value of preservation.
