I am a volunteer for the Institute of Musical Traditions (IMT), have been for many years now, and was an event-goer for many years before.

IMT is a great group to volunteer for, and our core volunteer corps is mighty and growing, doing organizational business, customer service, and technical tasks in what is basically a traveling show — we don't have our own theatre so we present at various venues throughout Montgomery County and sometimes DC.

While showcasing the finest representatives from the breadth of the traditional music world, IMT delivers great music for truly reasonable prices. Many of the artist offer workshops as well. And it's not just musical instruments, its vocal traditions, dance styles, storytelling, and history.

The Autumn concerts have begun at the Rockville and Takoma Park MD venues. Check out the schedule at .

If you are fortunate I will artfully rip your ticket.
