Causes: Health, Heart & Circulatory System Diseases & Disorders Research
Mission: The education of health professionals to more effectively diagnose/treat heart failure and to slow and/or prevent progression.
Programs: Annual meeting: meeting of medical professionals working in the field of heart failure to present and discuss new results from clinical trials, basic science advances, and new treatment modalities for heart failure. Approximately 2,500 persons attended.
research grants: the society's grant program provides grants for research related to heart failure and fellow training.
journal/publications: production of scientific journal (12 issues/year) and other publications to provide scientific information to members and nonmembers about the latest advances in treatment of heart failure. Approximately 1,500 persons benefitted.
