Programs: Nsp2 administrative costs - in february 2010, hni received a $26,092,880 grant from hud's nsp2 program. The funds have been loaned to individual homebuyers and dvelopers to acquire, renovate and sell 197 formerly vacant and/or foreclosed homes in neighborhoods targeted by hud. Funds earned will be recycled into the project.
program services - hni brings funding and services to support the improvement of 41 "middle" neighborhoods in baltimore city. The resources include below market loans for purchase and home renovation, operating and marketing support for neighborhood organizations, free design advice for rehabbers and partnerships with neighborhood schools.
grant administration - hni (with m&t bank) administers two loan pools and city funds to match rehabilitation loans. With city and private funding, hni funds neighborhood organizations for operating costs and small community capital projects. Foundation grants require quarterly and annual reporting.
