Mission: We start with the Good Samaritan Law, Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act was enacted in 1996 to protect good-faith donors from Civil and Criminal liability, should the product later cause harm to its recipient. The Emerson Act gives uniform federal protection to food donors who may cross state lines. It protects individuals, corporations, wholesalers, retailers, restaurateurs, farmers, ect. It provides protection for food and grocery products that meet all quality and labeling standards imposed by federal state and local laws and regulations. For a copy of this law, call 800-845-3008.
