If you are seriously looking for a charity the Haiti Micah Project (HMP) will exceed your expectations. At Trinity Episcopal Church, of Arlington Virginia we are the proud sponsor of five kids, and have been involved for almost six years. We support these kids through fund-raising activities supported by our church and members of the public. We regard our participation as an opportunity to help those that are less fortunate and instilling a sense of hope when it seems there is none. Through our support and along with a number of other Episcopal churches in the northern Virginia area and beyond, a new Vocational Center was recently acquired in 2016, so when the recent earth-quake came again, our kids were protected. This is an example of what can happen when people come together with open hands and hearts. Giving is an act of worship and when we give we give to the glory of God. Partner with us at Trinity Episcopal church and give to the Haiti Micah Project of Mirebalais in Haiti, by supporting the Haiti Micah Project here at home in the USA. God bless!
After the devastating earthquake of 2010, several members of our church were looking for ways to help. We were looking for an organization that could really put our dollars to work helping the children. We found what we had been looking for in the Haiti Micah Project! We have been supporting 10 kids for many years and have posted their pictures on our church bulletin board. Thand HMP for the wonderful work you do!!
HMP is doing great work year round, but especially during times of catastrophe. If you are looking for a worthwhile and impactful charitable organization, HMP will exceed your expectations.
In May 2016, I had the honor and privilege to visit Haiti, its beautiful countryside and the beautiful people of the Haiti Micah Project. Faith, hope and love were all present in each encounter. Faith, hope and love could also be found within the continued success of the project's feeding program, educational program and the children's home. Love in action reigns.
I have been donating to Haiti Micah Project since 2011 and I currently sponsor three children. Haiti Micah Project keeps me in close contact with the lives of the children. It does this through their newsletter and posted mail as well as email. I have been impressed with the transparency of the program, including its financial reports. It is clear to me that funds are going directly to the best use of the children. From the newsletters, I can tell that Haiti Micah is beginning to hire staff who are in charge of the various programs.
It's been a decade since we at Trinity Church in Arlington have been working with the Haiti Micah Project. They are our go to organization for accurate information on conditions and happenings in Haiti. We currently sponsor five children and young people through HMP's orphanage in Mirebalais. This is one outstanding organization that recruits on the ground assistance from Haitians and makes certain the program they offer responds to compelling human needs as defined by the recipients. We anticipate supporting this organization for many more years to come. Want to impact Haiti in a lasting positive way. Contact HMP.
I became involved with the Haiti Micah Project about 6 years ago and then had the fortunate experience of visiting Mirebalais, Haiti and seeing firsthand what this Project is doing for the children who are looked after by this program. There is a dedicated staff, the children are fed one very nourishing noonday meal (this may be their only meal) and their schooling and uniforms are paid for by sponsorships, as is their healthcare. I have seen the desperate poverty that is Haiti and am enlightened by the organization and their dedication to the health and well-being of these children. There are few paid staff and many volunteers helping these children to grow to their full potential. Money was recently raised to build and equip a vocational school so when any child finishes high school they can learn a vocation and consequently become contributing members of society; thus providing more hope for the future of this country . Father Joseph Constant, who founded this organization, is one of the most extraordinary and dedicated men I have ever encountered in improving the lot of Haitian children . He inspires us with his trust and patience that with kindness and compassion, as well as funds, there is hope for the children of this devastated country.
I have been affiliated with non-profits for much of my life so I speak from experience that this one should be given your highest ranking. Thank you!
I was lucky enough to visit this project and see the love and care the children get by the founders of HMP and other Haitians living in Mirebelais. It truly warms one's heart to watch the hot meal/ feeding program happen. It takes so little to feed and educate a child- a real leg up on their future.
I am in awe of the staff at the Haiti Micah Project and what they can accomplish with limited funds. We have supported three children there since the earthquake.
This small nonprofit is one of thousands operating in Haiti. Many "aid" and "relief" organizations send well-intentioned funds and people to provide basic necessities: food, clean water, education, health care. The sad truth is that too many of these NGO's do not employ Haitians, and therefore falter or fail. Here is where HMP distinguishes itself. It is an organization with a 10-year track record of Haitians helping Haitian children to get a leg up into a better life. Through its feed ing and education programs, HMP nourishes and empowers 400+ children in Mirebalais, Haiti. HMP lives out the cry of the prophet Micah, who told us mortals to "do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God."
This charity has been a consistent blessing in my life to connect my interest in small volunteer projects and giving back to areas in need around the world. I have sponsored a child there for over two years now.
My school has been working with the Haiti Micah Project ever since Father Constant came and visited our school. The program has made a significant difference in the lives of hundreds of severely impoverished children and families. Through their school, home for orphans, vocational school, and feeding program, the Micah Project touches many lives on a direct level.
Over 1 Million Meals Served! Over 10 Years of Truly Amazing Service! Inspiring!
This non-profit was the perfect choice for my choice charity because of their organization and hands on work proof from their online newsletter and updates.
The HMP was introduced to our school 5 years ago by our teacher, Alexia Etienne. Since then, our school has grown in community with Haiti, and because of our connection, has made us a better school. So thank YOU, Haiti Micah Project. You think we are helping you, but in reality you have helped us grow as a caring community. It is amazing to see what you have done in the lives of so many children. And isn't that our mission here on earth? Peace to all our friends in Haiti... Eileen
We can't praise this project enough for its great work in improving the lives of children in Haiti, who will in turn, help others in the future. We thank God for founder Rev. Joseph Constant and his dedicated staff for their unrelenting efforts and integrity. A living example of loving God and our neighbor. Onward and upward!! Bob & Gretel James
I have admired the work of Haiti Micah since I first heard about it about 10 years ago. I have gone from sporadic donations to a monthly gift to support a child. I am grateful for the work of the volunteers and for the opportunity to help in this small way to do a great good. I can see, from the newsletters and photos the great progress of their work and how the people have benefited and their living conditions and prospects have improved since I first started following the effort.
I support a child through the HMP. This nonprofit organization provides support to youth and families so they can work with others to advance Haiti's future and education for all.
I have been interested in the work of the Haiti Micah Project for over three years, first as a volunteer and then as a donor. The dedication, know-how and efficiency exhibited by its founder, the Rev. Joseph Constant, and by the Board members are impressive! They never rest on their laurels and are always thinking about the next step in the process. What amazes me is how they get things done in the very difficult environment that is Haiti. The building of the vocational training center is a good example of their can-do attitude.
The opportunities they provide to orphaned and indigent children in Mirebalais are life-changing. Please help them in this important work!
The story of HMP is extraordinary. We have supported it since its inception and have watched it develop into one of the most trustworthy charities there ever could be. The ratio of dollars raised to dollars spent exclusively on the population served is unmatched. The ability of HMP to do what it says it will do is unmatched. We have increased our charitable giving to HMP because of its effectiveness and because it represents the best use of our desire to make a difference with our resources.
